tossing the ship around like a row boat it feels awfully good to have your feet on solid ground. the big story on "action news" is the return of the cruise ship that sailed right into the middle of a monster storm. "action news" reporter live at the dock in bayonne and a relief for 4500 passengers tonight. >> that's right, jim. the ship pulled in just after 8:30. passengers didn't step foot on land until after 9:00. for many people this was thought to be a vacation relaxing, but unfortunately many say it was anything but. >> move back. >> we just want to go. >> i never feared for my life before and that was pretty rough of a night. it was extremely scary. >> it was insanity. >> more than 4500 passengers on board the anthem of the seas were trying to get on land after the 7-day trip to florida and then the bahamas was canceled.

the vessel caught in the eye of a severe storm leaving a trail of destruction behind on board. >> i may not get off this ship. did you ever think that? >> i feel like the captain might have felt that, too. he wasn't very reassuring in his announcements. there were things flying everywhere, ceilings collapsed on the boat. >> i am from brazil, terrible, terrible. i cried a lot. i cried a lot. >> they did a great job. they took care of us much they were hospitable and the crew was great. they did an amazing job. >> do you think you will go back? >> it will be awhile. >> horrible, i don't even want to talk about it. >> happy to be back on land? >> thrilled, thrilled. it will be a long time before we do another one of these. >> it was torture. we need a vacation from a supposed vacation. >> a vacation turned into what for you guys? >> a nightmare. a nightmare from hell. it was terrible. my first cruise and it was horrible. but we made it, we're alive.

>> the royal caribbean says the ships are built to withstand even more severe elements than what happened on sunday but they are fully refunded all passengers on board. reporting for "action news." ursinus college working with montgomery county health authorities to trace the source of a stomach bug sickening more than 100 students. the school in collegeville operated to close its cafeteria and snack bar today. local restaurants are stepping up to provide food. officials do not yet know whether the illness is food-borne or transmitted from person-to-person. school facilities are dis inf t disinfect disinfected. and a sign on the dining room said they should eat out. and a student came down with zika after a trip abroad on winter break.

and dann cuellar live on the bethlehem campus. what is the situation with the student and is there a health risk to others? >> the answer to those questions is the student is doing well tonight. she is reportedly doing just fine. and health officials are telling us that no, there is no health risk to others. lehigh university says it learned about the student testing positive for zika from the pennsylvania department of health. in a letter on the website the university says it is grateful to report that the student has recovered and is feeling well. they add that the state health officials indicate no additional health risk to anyone on campus. something that has put the students at ease. >> we talked about it in my immunology class. and it is a little over blown, not as contagious, but the most part something that needs to be addressed. >> the zika virus spread through

m mosquitos. and there are 66 cases of zika in the u.s. including one in delaware and two women in pennsylvania. one of the cases acquired outside of the u.s. where it is spreading. one case here at lehigh university is something students are not very concerned about. >> i feel like it will be like the swine flua epidemic, people will overreact and then it will freeze over. >> and i am not worried, the mosquito can't survive in the cold and i don't have plans for traveling abroad at the time. >> even though the mosquito type is not prevalent here, officials say it is likely we will see more cases as people travel to other areas where zika is on the rise. live at lehigh university dann cuellar channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. say he led the police on a high-speed chase that ended about 10 minutes later when investigators say he stopped and pointed a loaded gun at police. six officers fired about 20 rounds killing him, and his family is denouncing the claim that the shooting was justified. the pennsylvania senate failed to get the necessary votes to remove kathleen kane from office. the vote to remove her law license was 29-19, but that was 4 votes shy of the necessary 2/3 of the senate. if kane were to be removed it now has to come through the impeachment process. kane fighting obstruction and perjury charges said i am happy to continue the job for which i was elected to serve. ♪ new jersey governor chris christie ended his campaign for president. his departure not a complete

two sheriff's deputies have been shot and killed in abingdon, maryland. the first killed inside of a crowded restaurant at lunchtime and a second killed in a shoot-out nearby where the suspect was also killed. the gunman was identified as david brian evans and he had warrants out for his arrest in florida for allegedly assaulting a police officer. this was ferguson city council yesterday as it revised appear agreement between the city and federal government. the agreement was aimed at improving the way the police and courts treat poor people and minorities in ferguson. today the justice department filed a civil rights lawsuit against the city. they have been under scrutiny since brown was fatally shot by an officer. and they said ferguson had a chance to step forward today but chose to step backwards. the u.s. deploying hundreds
