interstate the remains closed tonight in central pennsylvania, after a deadly crash. three people were killed and 40 others were hospitalized and now we're told it was a sudden snow squall that toys blame for the massive pile up. abc's eva pilgrim has more. >> reporter: it seemed to come out of no where, blinding snow triggering this massive pile up killing three people, leaving at least 40 injured. >> we are at least 15 people trapped on the westbound lanes. >> reporter: more than 50 vehicles on i78 in pennsylvania, caught in the crash, five helicopter rushing to the scene. one moment the road was cleared, the next white out conditions. >> have all e ms come to 78 and go westbound and eastbound lanes. >> reporter: snow squals barreling across pennsylvania highways today catching drivers off guard. >> just sounded like two bombs went off. there was a couple people laying out, and trucks, cars, all smashed, cars underneath tractor trailer, in between tractor trailers and just total destruction.

>> reporter: dozens of ambulances shuttling these drivers to a local firehouse to keep them out of the bitter coal. tonight everyone has been rescued but both cars and trucks still scattered on the interstate. >> you can see they are still cleaning up tonight, the interstate will remain closed until about midnight. state officials asked people to stay off the roads unless they absolutely need to travel. in bethel, pennsylvania, eva pilgrim for channel six "action news". search continues for a missing air men out of dover air force base. twenty-one year-old kieffer huhman was last seen at his apartment complex in kersey court in dover last sunday. today family and friend searched near chesapeake and delaware canal where his truck was found earl will they are week. dover police are still processing the truck for evidence. we spoke with huhman's mother who said her son was supposed to go on a super bowl party on sunday but never arrived. >> i just can't believe the outpouring of support, and love that these people had for

my son and it is just overwhelming and it warms a mother's heart to know my son was well liked. >> air force and delaware state police were also there helping with the search that started last monday. hundreds turned out today for an emotional good bye for a young boy who died during a house fire last week in norristown. "action news" reporter trish hartman has more. >> reporter: friend and family members called out his nickname, man man, as his casket was lifted on to a fire truck. the sidewalk outside the church was lined with people, who came to say good bye to 12 year old sanford harling, the third died in the fire in his norristown home february 5th. he chose to go inside to try to save his father and that took courage on his side. he didn't think about himself. he thought about his dad. >> reporter: family members tell us all five people made it out of the burning home safely but man man ran back in when he thought his father was recovering from hip surgery was still inside. his father ended up jumping

hero. >> reporter: reporting from norristown trish hartman channel six "action news". new information from the montgomery county health department after nearly two people were i can is end at ursinus college. a report published on line earlier this week, revealed that health inspectors found numerous violations at the school's dining hall including, open pesticide near food, dead bugs and improper hand washing. but in the second follow-up report on thursday, the health department says that they didn't uncover any lingering violations. official from his ursinus college say 192 people came down with a stomach bug this past week. classes will resume on monday. new details are emerging tonight about the shooting that ended with the death of two, 15 years old girls at a high school in arizona the it happened as the students were arriving yesterday morning to independent high school in glendale. the girls were found dead in the patio area, lying beside one another with the weapon nearby. investigators now say a suicide note was found. the death of ma hugh and other 15 year-old sophomore sent shock waves throughout the

community. her sister, who is a teacher, drove her to school that day. >> i heard that she died, she was shot in the the head. >> we were told the girl's were known on campus as a couple but her sister says that was not the case. she said the other girl wanted more than friendship but ma did not. they had been friend since elementary school. the cruise ship forced to return to port after being hit by rought seas is currently on its ways to the bohamas. this afternoon it departed from new jersey after the coastguard cleared the ship for the next voyage. some passengers who boarded the ship this morning were nervous even though they believe the ship will be a safe one. ship arrived at port late wednesday night after being pummeled last sunday. the zika virus continues to be i major concern in the u.s. and other part of the world. health officials, and government leaders across the globe are accelerating vaccine
