with the should shooting of a woman found in a recycling bin on monday and the suspect was also shot and wounded. walter perez is live at that scene, at north godfrey street. what is the latest on this? >> reporter: the officer that was shot was treated and released from the hospital and is expected to be just fine. a live look at the scene, the investigators finally taking down the tape that surrounded the scene after gunshots were fired. it started with a police officer serving a warrant at this apartment at 9:30 last night and ended with a three hour standoff after the response from the man was to pull out a gun. >> our officers and the individual inside, he was secure

and transported to lehigh valley hospital for treatment. >> a police officer suffered a gunshot wound to his arm and is treated and released from lehigh valley hospital. and police were serving the warrant in connection to a woman's body that was found in a recycling bin. tom fullwhiler a neighbor who says the man had an asian girlfriend, was stunned overhearing what the victim was wearing when she was found. >> remember this girl wearing black slacks and black and white sneakers, they said when she was in the dumpers she had black and white nikes on. that popped into my head. >> and other neighbors said they looked like a perfectly content

couple. >> he was a quiet neighbor and was by himself and the girlfriend was there and that was it. >> back out live the body was found in the recycling bin less than three block as way from here. the officer was shot and treated and released. the suspect is in critical but stable condition at lehigh valley hospital. >> thank you. chester police are investigating the shooting of a teenager late this morning, the incident happened in the area of 12th and highland at 11:00. reports are that a student had a gun on a school bus and got off the bus and hit a student in the buttocks, they have not said what school the student goes to and they are asking forwities to come forward. police have arrested eric finnegan in connection with a woman's body found along the road in buck county yesterday. stephanie mackins body way was

found along the road they say that finnegan left her thereafter dying of a drug overdose in philadelphia. officials say that carbon monoxide may be to blame for the death of a person in atlantic county this afternoon. crews responded to a gas leak on fox hole oh drive in hamilton township. they found a person and two animaled dead. officials are saying it appears that the issue was carbon monoxide. a groom of prominent new jerseyans want to open the investigation into john and joyce sheridan, the cooper university hospital ceo and his wife were found dead in their home in september of 2014, police ruled it a murder-suicide. the sheridan sons rejected the findings then and reject them now. the group called friends of john

and joyce sheridan is calling for a new investigation as well. they released a statement say that john sheridan earned the right to have his life and death assessed competently and accurately. a man will spend time in prison after pleading guilty to the straw purchase of ten guns, that williams admitted to illegally transferring six guns and reported them stolen. williams was sentenced under the brad fox law, a police officer killed in the line of duty killed by a gun obtained illegally. the pennsylvania supreme court ruled that the reform commission doesn't have the authority to put a cap on the enrollment of schools or cancel priority decisions on the contract and that has major

implications for the school district. "action news" reporter john rawlins explains why. >> reporter: the operator of this west philadelphia charter school calls this a monumental victory the school will no longer be subjected to a cap on growth. >> back in the heady days of 2001 when the src took over it was granted unprecedented powers and now some of them are called unconstitutional. >> for unions or charters, they don't have the right to gut whole sections of the school code and deny students the right to arts and music or to a counselor. >> they say while sweeping the decision is not catastrophic, all powers of the src is intact including our contract cancellation right he had except for our act to suspend the school code.

look at the accuweather highlights, thursday tomorrow during the afternoon especially. we are talking windchill, so we'll have one brief day where temperatures drop below normal for thursday, 25 in allentown during the peak of the day tomorrow 28 in philadelphia and 28 in millville and 28 in atlantic city. a popular number and only in the teens in the poconos and then we flip the page and speed up time to the beginning of the weekend on saturday, nice and mild 53 in allentown in philadelphia and 50 along the shore and the poconos a taste of spring with 45 degrees during the afternoon. we are a little more than halfway through the month of february. we went through an eight day street from the 8th to the 15th where temperatures were below normal with the cold arctic outbreak especially last weekend
