store on sansom street in center city around 3:30 a.m. it appears one of the suspects forgot to cover his face as he walked near the store and cameras captured this image that could reveal his identity and lead to an arrest. >> we have many cameras, infra ray, the neighborhood has cameras. they were very bold and they knew exactly what they were doing. >> reporter: the store's owner jeffrey barsky says there was phone call he dreaded, crooks broke into his store and got away with $400,000 worth of merchandise mostly wedding bands and earrings. >> been here over a hundred years so it hurt us. doesn't kill us. >> reporter: the criminals somehow manipulated the remote security gate popped the lock to the door and made their way inside. police say they were on a mission and knew exactly which cases they wanted to break into. police are not ruling out an inside job. >> nothing is ruled out completely. that's something that central investigators will look into to see if there's possibly

some connection but again we clearly can see that these individuals knew exactly what they were looking for and went to some specific items. >> reporter: this is not the first time barsky's has been burglarized. in 2014 this surveillance video shows four people during lar rising the store. employees are hoping this is the last time and that the suspects will be caught. >> that's what these people do. these are bad people. they're not nice people. they don't care that, you know, they hurt someone's livelihood. they're not thinking about anything but themselves and it's okay, we're going get 'em. >> reporter: and tonight we can tell you the store is revisiting its security measures. we should also mention no events like weddings were impacted by this theft. tonight police asking anyone with information to contact the central detective division. live in center city, gray hall, channel6 "action news." alicia, back to you. >> gray, thank you. almost a week after his passing thousands of people have gathered to honor one of the supreme court's most influential members. this morning justice antonin

scalia's flag draped casket was carried into the supreme court to begin a day of public mourning. taking a live look now as he lies in repose inside the great haul of the nation's highest court on the same pedestal that once held the casket of president abraham lincoln. president barack obama and first lady michelle just paid their respects to scalia stopping in front of his casket and pausing at a painting of him within the last 30 minutes. a long line of everyday people also waited outside for their chance to go inside. earlier the eight remaining members of the court joined scalia's family and nearly 100 former law clerks for a short ceremony. scalia's son who is also a catholic priest offered a prayer over his father's coffin. >> in your wisdom you have called your servant antonin out of this world. >> the tribute to justice scalia exsends to his native trenton. he was born there in 1936. new jersey governor chris

christie ordered flags lowered to half-staff and they will stay that way through tomorrow. our coverage of the remembrance for justice scalia continues right now on 6abc.com. we'll have live video from his funeral mass in washington, d.c. that starts at 11 o'clock tomorrow morning. sharrie. >> all right, alicia. meantime from our delaware news room a firefighter went to the hospital after battling a blaze in new castle. the action cam shows the huge flames that ripped through cirillo brothers. this started around 8:00 a.m. in a garage but quickly spread to second building. crews called in to help from other departments were brought in to help put this out. while they were working a 65-year-old firefighter had some kind of medical emergency and went to the hospital in serious condition. we're still trying to find out his name. investigators have not said what caused the fire. >> well, just as predicted the clouds have rolled in and the warmth is not far behind as we

philanthropy in the world. >> hydrating the dancers, feeding the dancers, family events, events on stage, entertainment. monica and cara are from the philadelphia area. they've spent a year working behind the scenes. >> it's more than that. it's really just helping out children and their families and just from a volunteer's perspective we really put everything into it behind the scenes and we're not really well known but i kind of like that. >> i just love the work ethic and obviously i love the cause. i love this entire event. >> reporter: thon has raised $127 million since 1977. the money goes to the four diamonds fund and penn state hershey children's hospital in the fight against pediatric cancer and the they're goes with it. >> it's really indescribable. i can't think of a word to be honest. it's just so rewarding. you see all of the work you've put in throughout the entire year and you just see the smile on their faces and that just makes it. >> reporter: and as you can

constitutional amendment. governor chris christie says he does not support the bill and in fact has called it economically irresponsible. speaking of the economy, a mixed bag to end the week on wall street as we take a look at the closing numbers on a friday. the dow off 21 and a half points today, the nasdaq up just about 17, the s & p 500 down minimally fractions of a penny today. and that's the week on wall street. >> she was a giant of the literary world despite only publishing one book for most of her career. author harper lee has died at the age of 89. lee's book "to kill a mockingbird" was a best seller providing an iconic view of racial injustice in the south from the eyes of a child. it was first published in 1960 and has sold 30 million copies worldwide. but despite its success lee would not publish another novel until last year's "go set a watchman." >> it's product we first told you about when a local

dewpoint 18 degrees, winds out of the south-southwest at 13 miles per hour. that will eventually pull in the warmer air. the wind chill makes it feel like 30 and pressure right now is falling. so temperatures pretty uniform. in allentown 36, wilmington 34, millville 36, atlantic city airport also 36 degrees. and temperatures really not dropping much at all tonight. so, satellite6 along with action radar slowing that warm front is moving through and if you look across the midwest you can see that line of clouds. that's a cold front that will move through tomorrow night and that will drop the temperature a little bit on sunday but basically it's going to feel like spring this weekend and tonight temperatures again pretty steady. 34 degrees the low in philadelphia. allentown 32. atlantic city 35. and dover also 35 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. look at these temperatures. the average high for this time of the year is 45 degrees. tomorrow well above that with a temperature soaring up to 62 degrees and then behind that cold front we drop a little bit on sunday but still

very mild, 58 degrees, so hard to believe early monday morning some parts of our viewing area could actually see a touch of snow. future tracker showing sunday at 9 o'clock at night we do have some moisture beginning to develop. this will be rain generally philadelphia and areas southeast but northwest in the wee hours of the morning a little bit of snow could cause a grassy coating north of the pennsylvania turnpike and moves out very quickly by monday morning. so, the four day at 4:00 showing tomorrow get outside, if you can. the high up to 62 degrees, partly sunny skies. really the better of the two days this weekend. on sunday more clouds, 58 degrees, some late day showers, rain arriving sunday night and again touch of wet snow in the northern suburbs. and then on monday, breezy and cooler, 49 degrees and tuesday our next system pulls in. this is a coastal storm. depending on the track could bring us rain or wet snow tuesday night and wednesday is looking very messy. i'll talk more about that

him or why. >> a tractor-trailer crash sent one person to the hospital and tied up traffic for hours this morning on i-95. the view from chopper6 shows a car crushed by that tractor-trailer. the wreck happened around 6:30 this morning in the southbound lanes near the walt whitman bridge. police say the tractor-trailer lost control and swerved into that vehicle. one person went to hahnemann but we're still trying to find out how badly that victim was injured. >> well, not everyone loves to go see the dentist but if you live in delaware, you've got one less excuse not to. a new mobile dental van was rolled out in wilmington today. the mobile dentist office will provide teeth cleanings x-rays and, yes, root canals. the van was a collaboration between healthcare providers connection community supports programs and barclay's bank delaware. though it will save many it will focus on health people within the state department of corrections work release and

"action news" reporter john rawlins joins us live now outside of central detectives with the very latest on this. john. >> reporter: hi, sharrie. well, the d.a. carefully chose his words today. he said there was a lot of evidence still to be evaluated and he was not going to be stampeded into making a quick but flawed decision. now in part he was pushing back against accusations that were made earlier today by the head of the fop who says he can not understand why lesean mccoy has not been charged yet. fop president john mcnesby said today lesean mccoy

sucker punched one of the officers inside this olde city nightclub. mcnesby cannot understand why the buffalo bills running back has not been charged yet. he says it doesn't pass the smell test. >> extraordinary amount of time could be investigate -- to be investigating an assault. it's an aggravated assault. the video is the video. the detectives from all accounts were done investigating this last week. >> reporter: video captured some of the melee. the altercation pitted mccoy and three friends against at least two off duty officers who were seriously injured. there have been reports the d.a.'s office was not ready to issue an arrest warrant because of questions about the officers' conduct saying he would not talk about anied in an ongoing investigation, d.a. seth williams did say today his office would carefully examine everything. >> the last thing any one wants is a rush to judgment. and so again it's my job to get it right and not get it fast. i know there are some people who are clamoring that i

haven't resolved -- have it resolved one week from now and that wouldn't be the prudent thing. >> reporter: attorney fortunato perry represents one of the officers. is he concerned there have been no charges yet. >> we're not concerned at all. obviously over the last few days different videos have surfaced. other individuals are being interviewed. we're confident that the completion of the investigation this attorney will charge whoever is responsible for this beating. >> reporter: so, this investigation into what occurred inside the recess lounge continues. in the meantime the attorney for mr. mccoy told a buffalo newspaper a couple of days ago that his client did nothing wrong. the d.a. is now saying there is no time line at this point to make any sort of decision as to whether to charge or not charge in this particular case. live in spring garden, john rawlins, channel6 "action news." brian. >> all right, john, thanks very much. new on "action news" this afternoon a long time delaware

county teacher has been arrested accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a former student. 52-year-old gregory stanczuk is charged with institutional sexual assault a third degree felony. investigators say he took advantage avenue student who trusted and confided in him after a break upwith her boyfriend. he's a coach at ridley high school. he's been put on administrative leave. bensalem police are telling "action news" an hour's long barricade situation has finally ended peacefully. officials say the suspect mark fleming was armed and surrendered just about a half hour ago. that situation started around noon today when officers tried to serve a search warrant on dunks ferry road. he was wanted for allegedly threatening someone way shot gun. >> two men are under arrest accused of sexually assaulting and murdering a cape may county teenager. derrick powers and charles mosley are facing charges for

15-year-old nicole angstadt's death. police found nicole's body inside a vacant home in rio grande. each suspect faces a long list of charges. >> the allentown police department is expanding its use of a program that helps them find young children or older adults who wander away because of medical problems. allentown police have raised enough none buy 39 bracelets used by the project lifesaver program. the bracelets transmit a tracking signal that helps police locate the person's exact location. donations were collected after the death of five-year-old jayliel vega, the young boy with autism that wandered away from a new year's eve party and was found two days later in the lee lie canal. >> it was business as usual at a chester county cracker barrel after fire got extremely close to that building. a spokesman tells "action news" that an rv in the parking lot burst into flames late last night. there was minimal damage to

the restaurant and they were able to open on time. the vehicle belonged to a repair company doing some work on the property. >> meteorologist cecily tynan joining us now as we inch our way toward the weekend. >> yes, yes. it's going to be one of those weekends you want to get outside am i want to show you two places you may want to go. one is the ski resort. 34 degrees currently, if you're heading there this weekend expect springlike ski conditions with that really soft mushy snow with temperatures rising up into the 50's at the ski resorts and you may even think about going to the beach. cape may is 36 degrees currently with a wind chill of 28 but things are going to change dramatically. i want to show you why. although we're in the 30's right now, look at chicago. chicago in february, it's 62 degrees and that air mass is heading our way. however, by the end of the weekend, believe it or not,

>> ♪ >> a 15-year-old passenger is in critical condition after being involved in this dramatic helicopter crash. the chopper went down in pearl harbor, la had a hawaii yesterd.

bystanders ran to the rescue and helped get the family of four and helicopter's pilot out of the water. they say they had to cut the teen out of his seat belt. mom, dad and the pilot are also still in the hospital. so far, no comment from the tour company that operates that helicopter. >> the case surrounding ethan couch known as the affluenza teen is heading to adult court now. a texas judge made that ruling today which now means couch's probation will not expire when he turns 19. now prior to this his fatal drunken driving wreck was heard in a juvenile court. couch could now face jail time for the 2013 crash that killed four people. the local sheriff is applauding this decision. >> i can't help every time but look at the families of those victims and see the pain and the suffering that they're still going through and it just makes all of us determined to make sure that

many drivers crying this afternoon because i don't think they'd be happy tears they'd be crying. big delays they're sitting in as they try and head home here on the vine street expressway in center city. both directions jammed up pretty much river to river as you can see. this is the scene along the vine by the schuylkill and no accidents its just a lot of afternoon volume. but there was a crash on the pennsylvania turnpike. it was eastbound approaching fort washington. crash is now gone but speeds have not recovered just yet. you see 30 miles per hour approaching the scene, just 8 miles per hour as you pass 476. so, coming east on the turnpike away from valley forge, expect that wall of traffic. also saw still hav still have t. this one along north wales at corey lane with speeds in the 30's as you head up the northeast extension maybe up to the poconos for the weekend. langhorne debris in the southbound lanes of one, the super highway. they got it pushed off to the side. police officers came along pushed it out of the way but traffic still a little bit slow approaching 230.

have that arctic invasion with that big dip in the jet stream. temperatures only in the 20's. but this weekend the jet stream buckles and that pulls up a surge of very warm air. 50's and 60's with 70's not too far to the south. so, try to enjoy it. last sunday the high was 20 degrees. the lowest wind chill 10 degrees below zero in philadelphia. this sunday, 58 degrees. that's 13 degrees above normal. so, we're talking about say,, it's going to feel about 68 degrees warmer than it did last sunday morning. future tracker showing 11 o'clock on sunday night this is when we have a lot of clouds and this is when a low pressure develops along a stalled frontal boundary. that will bring us some showers. but it's also going to bring in some colder air. so, by 3:30 in the morning you can see it looks like we'll have a very thin band of snow across the north and west suburbs and then it's out of here very early on monday morning. and with the ground so warm after the warm week, i think

all of the snow will be melting on the roads. however, there is a possibility of just wet snow on grassy surfaces really north of the pennsylvania turnpike when you wake up monday morning. not going to be a big deal but i don't want you to be surprised about it. so, the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, tomorrow the high 62 degrees. that's the normal high for early april. good amount of sunshine. on sunday the clouds roll in, 58 degrees. some showers late in the day steady overnight. period of wet snow in the north and west suburbs. temperatures drop on monday, breezy and cooler with a high of 49 degrees. heading into tuesday, this is when the coastal storm develops. still a lot of question on the exact track but looks like late tuesday wet snow developing. wednesday also looking very messy and then we begin to break out of it on thursday, clouds breaking for some sunshine with a high of 44. and friday partly sunny with a high of 42 degrees. so, a warm weekend but a wet
