of destruction over five miles long and 2 miles wide. 50 farms or home structures were damaged or destroyed. chad pradelli is surveying the damage season live in salisbury township. what have you seen personally today? >> reporter: well jim, what we have is a lot of what you see behind me, you can see the barn right there and see it is a shelf its former self. you can see the roof has been ripped off and officials tell us that this tornado had a sort of snake like path. and if you look here this house is seemingly untouched. but talking with officials, 40 to 50 homes were damaged but this community is already rebuilding. >> the tornado ripped a path of destruction five miles long, roofs were ripped off and barns levels and even a one room school house was destroyed. >> it's rare to have a tornado particularly of this magnitude

kind of on the ground that long and doing this sort of damage. >> white horse is amish country, the deeply religious commune was already cleaning up and rebuilding today. the amish doesn't obtain traditional insurance but count on their fellow man to help. >> it's amish aid, every neighbor come together and helps the other out. >> families will be assessed a certain amount if need be to help pay for the cost and they do the work themselves. >> a command center is set up at the fire company and amish from around the region came to help those effective. the cleanup is effective but this storm could have been much more devastating. >> there are no reported injuries that we are aware of and they are fortunate in this area. >> reporter: and officials tell us that the estimated cost of

the damage at this point is $8 million. >> thank you chad. lets switch live to meteorologist, cecily tynan, at the "action news" big board. winds up to 125 miles per hour and damage up to $8 million. >> and incredibly rare for this time of year. this is the only ef 2 tornado to hit anywhere in pennsylvania during the month of february. this is 7:00, when the super cell was forming and you can see the blue. this is hail and that super cell continued to intensify and at 7:30 we were tutting in life with programming for the warning and we saw a rear flank down draft, the air that moves in and creates the spin and the tornado

touched down at 7:38 at white horse north of gap and we had the tornado watch posts in the afternoon because the setup in the atmosphere was really prime for tornadoes to develop. the strong upper level low and upper level vortex, a spin ahead of the squall line that was pushing quickly to the east and on top of that a strong jet stream and that give it lift, and then a lot of low level moisture and added wind with the low level jet and that created the spin and that created the storm. and now i'm tracking cold air moving in we'll talk about that in the full accuweather forecast. >> thank you. no tornadoes in the delaware valley but the fierce wind and heavy rain caused plenty of damage. in hatboro, police or people woke up to find uprooted trees

second one pulling through right now. this is what has the cold air in place. tonight an evening shower or sprinkle, and not a big deal, becoming partly cloudy and brisk and colder, 32 in philadelphia and 29 in allentown and cape may. tomorrow bright sunshine and that is the good news. it's chilly with a high of 41 and factor in the wind gusts at 30 miles per hour and windchills through the day won't climb out of the upper 20s and you may want to take the sunglasses and the winter coats and as we head into saturday it's seasonably cool with a high of 45 and plenty of sunshine again and winds diminish and feeling better than friday and big changes as we head into the second half of the weekend and the warm front lifts to the north and pulls winds from the southwest and that means temperatures back up into the low 60s and it looks like we'll stay that way on monday ahead of that cold front that could bring us a sprinkle or two.

the second half of the weekend feels like spring. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, sunshine is back tomorrow finally but the high only 41 degrees, you factor in the wind gusts, 35 to 45 miles per hour and windchills start in the teens and low 20s and only climb into the upper 20s. definitely dress for winter, saturday a good amount of sunshine and seasonably cool with a high of 45 degrees, not as windy as friday. all in all not bad for late february and 62 degrees on sunday and mostly sunny skies and monday we match that 62 and bring in the clouds and perhaps a sprinkle with that cold front and behind that front xlit slightly cooler air and it looks like the next rainy day is wednesday with a high of 55 and behind the system on thursday it turns cooler with a high of 48 degrees.
