scene. we know a man was just rescued from the rubble right here on the 1400 block of patton street in the past hour. we are told that the man is 39 years old. he was taken to presbyterian hospital. look at the dramatic scene here, the house collapse. we're waiting for an update on the 39-year-old man's condition. investigators remain on the scene. they are figure out exactly what caused the house to give way and collapse there. the forecast with meteorologist chris sowers. a bit chilly, but a warmup. >> reporter: we'll have a fabulous weekend for the delaware valley. it will be chilly with the breeze feeling like the upper 30s this afternoon, we'll see plenty of that, pleasant of bright, blue skies. tomorrow we skyrocket in the 60s. morning lows we dropped into the teens across parts of the area. millville and hammonton in south jersey, 18 and 19 degrees. windchills put them in the 14 to 15-degree range first thing this morning. you're rebounding now, but it was a cold start. pilots, 22. smyrna, 24. 30 in the allentown. reading, 31. millville, 30. trenton, 30. wildwood, 32. you add the breeze, it's only 5 to 7 miles per hour, but it's good enough to subtract a good 5 or 6 degrees feeling like the 20s. clear conditions up and down the mid atlantic and the northeast

moved into the home in the past week. the grandmother said she was glad the co alarm was working. it's unbelievable. they were asleep all night long until 3:00 a.m. the woman and her kids are in the hospital to be checked out and in stable condition. new this morning, a philadelphia police sergeant is recovering after crashing his suv into a utility pole. this happened around 3:00 a.m. at parkside and bryn mawr avenues in wynnfield. police say the sergeant lost control responding to a call. he was taken to penn presbyterian where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. police are looking for a group of teenagers who visually attacked a roman catholic high student and he is not the only victim. >> reporter: jimmy falon's eye is swollen and bloody after he was jumped at jfk and broad on

wednesday afternoon. we were sitting there and the first kid swung at me, i tried defending myself, they jumped on me. it makes you scared, because ten minutes prior i'm telling my son i love him, i'm getting a phone call saying your son got beat up and he is laying there crying. >> reporter: the romeman catholic -- roman catholic freshman said a dozen students pummeled him on the way to the train station. they started kicking me and they took me phone and ran with it. >> reporter: the phone was tracked to west philadelphia, but police have no suspects. tuesday the philadelphia school district police, septa and others met to find ways to curb the prosch of students converging on center city after school and committing crimes. it's heart wrenching, this is like the fourth occurrence with roman kids this year.

palmetto state this morning, south carolina voters are casting their ballots in the state's democratic primary. hillary clinton is expected to win in south carolina in part because she has a broader appeal to black voters. a big percentage of those going to the polls today. bernie sanders has turned his concentration to winning super tuesday states. clinton has the edge in the polls down south. more than half the delegates up for grabs in the democratic race are up on the table in march. super tuesday, the red on the map, ted cruz is trying to score texas, cruz, john kasich and ben carson is trying to stop donald trump's run. new jersey governor chris christie has endorsed donald

1400 block of patton street. the house collapsing, exactly why, we don't know. there's a victim a 39-year-old man transported to the hospital. we are waiting to hear about his injuries, the second we get that information we'll bring it to you. as you plan your day let's get you caught up on the forecast with meteorologist chris sowers, a bit chilly, but it's going to change. >> reporter: what a winter it's been. it's been unusually mild from the first day of winter until today, we've had 13 days where the temperatures climbed to 60 degrees if not higher. we'll add three more days to the total, if not more by the time we get into the middle of next week, another huge warmup is on the way. you'll see sunshine out there this afternoon. somewhat chilly today we start to get into it, as we get into sunday afternoon. temperatures back in the 60s, a lot of ups and downs with the temperatures this past week. we started out on the mild side.

monday not too bad. tuesday, we dropped off to 43. wednesday and thursday, 65 and 62678 this is midnight high. the temperatures started falling throughout the day, but during the day it was mild, friday, 41. we get into next week it will be up then down. we'll see cooler changes arrive with an arctic front thursday into friday. most of the upcoming week looks good. windchills, feels like 22 degrees in philadelphia. 23 in reading. lancaster, 24. millville, 23. trenton, 22. satellite and radar, the good news is there will be a ton of sunshine out there today. even with the cooler windchills the fact that the sun angle is high in the sky now it should feel great out there. most of the cloud cover stays to the west. pittsburgh, charleston, buffalo cloudy today. philadelphia, the eastern seaboard you'll stay clear. if you're traveling today it's quiet from the east coast to the

west coast. packed northwest could get into showers this afternoon, but you can see it's sunny from new orleans all the way up to the u.s./canadian border. nice stuff is marching through the united states this weekend. here's the surface maps. this is what it looks like today. we have a warm front cutting across the high plains, this is all mild air. temperatures in the 60s and 70s. the heartland of the nation, the deep south, the front range, the whole area, 60s and 70s. it will feel fantastic. all that charges east, it will set up a nice monday and tuesday. wednesday is a mild day if this storm here consults west and there's a -- cuts west, there's a southwesterly flow. it will feel good. speaking of feeling good, future tracker 6 today no issues. tomorrow no issues. monday this is a dieing cold front, a lot of this moisture is fizzling out before it makes it into the delaware valley.

cool. now, we are tracking a couple of rain chance in the seven-day forecast. actually it turns cold enough where friday's event could mix with or change over to snow. i'll show you the storm tracks for wednesday and friday when i see you in just a few minutes. thank you so much. new this morning, a 15-year-old boy is recovering after being stabbed in south philadelphia. the action cam was on the scene after 11:00 p.m. at the intersection of south third and porter streets. we are told several teens got into a fight, they took off before officers got to the scene. the 15-year-old victim was taken to the hospital for stab injuries to his back and side. else in stable condition this morning. so far no arrests have been made. new a fire forced a woman from her apartment in strawberry mansion. she lives on the 2700 block of west lehigh avenue. neighbors called 911 around 1:40 a.m. the woman made it out on her own

and we are told she is okay. delaware state police have arrested a man and his girlfriend for a trio of robberies. george hamilton and jessica august are accused of robberies in bear and new castle. they used a gun and got money and cigarettes and both are in jail. 9:34, philadelphia police say they have busted the man who break into a church. the suspect may have targeted that same church more than once. "action news" jeff chirico has the story. >> reporter: while many come to pray in it, police say william sides was praying on our lady of calvary, he had no idea he was walking into a trap set by police who police say had struck the church two times before. he was surprised, he

tomorrow spring-like weather. today is chilly, very winter like. tomorrow 9 temperatures skyrocket into the 60s, there's a lovely shot of the penns landing, it's breezy, but look at the sunshine, down on the delaware river. today is sunny and dry. next chance of rain is monday morning, outside of that the next significant chance is wednesday. 46 degrees, one degree shy of seasonal average. low temperature, 28. on par for this time of the year. 30s to the north low to mid 30s to the south. reading, 31, poconos 27. and allentown 30. feels like 25 with the winds up there in the lehigh valley, so you have to dress accordingly. that wind is blowing. 23 with the wind in reading. feels like 22 in philadelphia. 22 in trenton and millville, 23. dress in layers and that should

do the trick. satellite and radar, a lot of sunshine up and down the entire eastern seaboard, as i mentioned all morning long are the angle of the sun is higher in the sky than it was a month or two ago. even though temperatures will be chilly today when you're in the sun it will feel nice as the rays beat down on you and warm you up nicely. the lower 48 there's nothing going on, we're moving into a nice pattern overall for the next several days. windchills this afternoon, high temperatures in the mid 40s, i think for the most part the windchills will range between 38 and 42. ignore that. what i want to show you here is first thing tomorrow morning we're dealing with the breeze, even though we're topping out in the 60s tomorrow afternoon. you wake up tomorrow morning it will feel like the upper 20s, low 30s, once again bundle you mean first thing tomorrow morning, as well. we get into next week, thing get active again in the weather pattern. the first system we're watching is wednesday. an area of low pressure comes

out of the high plains. anything north of the storm track is cold. anything south of the storm track is warm. this low will cut west of philadelphia. that's all warm air flooding the region. this is rain. this is almost a certainty. there could thunderstorms thrown in there, as well. low level jet stream will be roaring, winds 40, 45 miles per hour. i don't think we'll see severe weather with this, but can't rule you tell out completely. wednesday is a rain event. friday, this is where things get interesting. the storm this time around tracks farther to the south. north of the line is cold, south is warm. now all of a sudden we are bringing colder air into the storm. that could be a mixture of rain and snow or a mixture from the start as rain goes over to snow. it's old man winters' last punch. temperatures will moderate hopefully for good. 46 degrees today.
