night when he and his wife were attacked walking home from work and police say at this point it appears to be a clear case of self-defense. today neighbors in queen village were talking about what unfolded here last night at second an bainbridge, a 65-year-old residence they know as sal defended himself by firing his gun at the couple. >> good for him. >> a lot of commotion from what we heard, old man sal we know him from the neighborhood. heard there was a ruckus and he pulled out a gun and shot a couple of people. >> walking down the street you shouldn't be attacked for no reason. >> the couple was walking home from work and they told police two men passed them by and two men said to the husband what are you looking at and punched him and threw him to the ground and started assaulting him and turned their attention to the wife knocking her down and punching her as well. they tried to get away, but the

two men ages 20 and 21 came after them. >> he explained he had a firearm and he they had they don't care and they punched him in the face and his wife is being hit and he asked them to leave and begged them to stop and he discharged his firearm. >> the 19-year-old received a gunshot wound to his leg and the 20-year-old to his stomach. they said the husband suffered serious wounds to his eyes and face. >> this was a matter of life and death, i think we would be at a funeral right now. >> young says his clients have lived here in queen village for 40 years, this may be the last straw, they are absolutely traumatized by what happened last night. now the district attorney is reviewing all the evidence and will decide if any charges should be filed. that includes possible charges against the two young men that are now in the hospital in

stable condition being treated for gunshot wounds. i'm sara bloomquist, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. we are learning more about the seven people arrested during yesterday's wild police chase on the schuylkill expressway and their connection to a larger crime ring more than half of the group was arrested when police cornered a car on i-76 and all seven of them face aid judge today and they say they are members of the felony lane gang. they often target parking lots outside of day cares and gyms, looking for pocketbooks and other items. and the women often wear wigs to impersonate them at tell erwin does. one school was dismissed earlier today when a threat surfaced online. some were turned away at the

a convenience store collect in georgia fought back against an armed robber the suspect fought back and the clerk slapped his hand first and then later hit him with the cash register drawer as he ran off and the clerk grabbed a hammer from under the counter. the clerk was not hurt and police are still looking for that suspect. a train derailment has forced the evacuation of a dozen homes in western new york. the train left ripley southwest of buffalo and two of the cars did leak ethanol. it's not clear what caused the wreck. the pentagon is putting its security to the test. it's inviolating hackers to try

side and then you added this, the winds whipping out there. philadelphia reporting a peak wind gust of 43 miles per hour and reading 44 and trenton 47 and wilmington and atlantic city wind gusts of up to 40 miles per hour. you add in the temperatures and this is how it feels, you need a winter coat. 31 in philadelphia and 32 in atlantic city airport and 30 in allentown and feels like 23 degrees in lancaster, the winds will be diminishing, satellite 6 along with action radar showing we have clear conditions and what will happen is this bubble of high pressure that develops overnight and moves right over us, that brings us clear skies and diminishing winds and temperatures into the 20s and then another system waiting in the wings and this low pressure is developing across the plain states and what this will do is fly through the south late into friday and that brings us a brush with wet snow. tonight a quiet night, again the

winds diminishing but cold. 27 in philadelphia and 23 in allentown and 29 in cape may. a chilly start to the day tomorrow and it stays cold. future tracker 6 showing at 3:30 this is when we see clouds drifting up from the southwest and temperatures only in the mid to upper 30s tomorrow and then late tomorrow night, this is when light snow will begin to develop out of the south around 11:00 and that continues into the overnight hours. i really don't think this is a big snow event and more of it is the timing, more snow showers for the morning commute and we'll see them tapering off in the northwest suburbs. some of that snow will be continuing in south jersey and generally we are not looking at a lot. the consensus is this is a minor to nuisance event. philadelphia 1 to 2 inches and areas in south jersey could see up to 3 inches of wet slushy snow.
