bloomquist is off. in the news a woman is dead after a house fire breaks out in burlington county. and the republican candidates are back out on the campaign trail after another heated debate last night. but the big story is breaking news out of chester county. three students will face criminal charges after a violent hazing incident at conestoga high school. it involves students from the baseball team. chad pradelli is live with the new details. >> reporter: yes, chester county authorities say there is systematic hazing with the conestoga football team dating back three to four years and this past fall turned violent when a freshman football player was penetrated and violated. >> authorities say that two senior football players held a

freshman player down and violated the player with a broom stick in the locker room. >> we are here to announce charges against three juveniles, i am not using their names they are being charged in the juvenile system. >> authorities did not learn about the assault until last month until the student told the father and he went to school administrators but there is a pattern of hazing at conestoga for years. they had something called no gay thursdays. >> he would have an older kid come behind a younger kid and put his genitals on top of the younger kid's head and that was okay on thursday. the alleged hazing was so bad on thursdays, some players avoided the locker room at all costs and even quit the team but administrators and educators were not aware of the hazing. >> the kids knew the locker room was theirs. it was theirs to do what they

stabbed to death in south philadelphia. the victim is 54-year-old thong weng. and was found inside of the kitchen on washington avenue with her throat slashed. we learn that the restaurant's owner told the victim was in the kitchen with another employee, the owner found the body after sending an order to the kitchen and not receiving any food. there were signs this was a violent struggle. >> pieces of kitchen equipment were actually knocked off and a piece of equipment was laying on her body and she had bruises to her face. severe bruises to her face. police hope that cameras in the area help find the killer who ran from the scene. trish hartman will have the latest on an investigation coming up in a live report at 12:30. an early morning fire has claimed a woman's life, the victim was in her 80s and could not get out when her home suddenly caught fire. the action cam was there as

deaths across the state and the bacteria rarely affects humans but can be spread through water. a team is going to wisconsin to find out what is causing. >> this is the first outbreak they have seen, typically five cases per state per year, so worse than what is happening here, they are not really sure why. wisconsin doctors are alerted to the symptoms that include fever, shortness of breath and neck pain. there are antibiotics treatments if caught in time. researchers found a use for one of the oldest drugs on the market. it's widely used for pain relief and warding off heart attacks or strokes and now they say it could decrease the risk of colon cancer by 15%. airplane bathrooms could soon be a lot less i don't remembery.

meteorologist, melissa magee, is here now and the snow is past and there is sunshine to look forward to. >> yes -- >> what time? >> about 3:00, 4:00 later in the afternoon. here is stormtracker 6 live double scan you can see the snow we had early in the morn rick is starting to move out from a west to east direction. still light snow showers lingering in areas in ocean county down to surf city and atlantic city, but in cape may county at the courthouse you picked up 5 inches of snow than is moving on out and it gets better as we head into the weekend. we'll show you the picture outside. sky 6 hd, looking at penn's landing on this friday afternoon, a fair amount of cloud cover over head.

good news if you look at the roads they are just wet, so the snow shouldn't have much of an impact on the afternoon and evening commute from city points north and west and in south jersey could be slushy accumulation, they picked up 2 to 5 inches of snow. currently outside in philadelphia, 35 degrees and dew point 27 and the pressure 30.06 and it is falling and wins from the northeast at 20 miles per hour. we have the stiff northeasterly wind in the wake of the storm system or nuisance snow one could say continues to depart and windchill 24 degrees. at the poconos freezing mark and wildwood 34 and atlantic city 34, 35 to the north and west in reading. here is satellite 6 along with action radar can you see the small area of low pressure we continue to track and it departs to the east as we go throughout the rest of the afternoon and a

fair amount of cloud cover in the wake of this system we are tracking and the winds pick up on the backside gusting as high as 16 miles per hour and that will improve conditions in the area as well. mostly cloudy today and pockets of sunshine returning and we have the chilly northeasterly winds sustained at 5 to 15 miles per hour. and we match out at 42 today. clear and cold and dropping down to 27 in the city with the northerly wind, anywhere from 10 to 20 miles per hour. as we go throughout the start of our weekend, 8:00 in the morning, it's a nice start but chilly in the city and 32 and 29 in reading but overnight saturday and into early sunday morning, we are tracking a weak disturbance, by 1:00, 2:00 in the morning and overnight hours early on sunday, light snow showers for the city and points north and west and only a light

a little girl had trouble getting dressed and she called 911. this is little aliyah and deputy nunez, they ran to the phone with half a pant leg on. >> she wanted me to help do her shoes and hug her and hold her and it made my day, she was so sweet and out going. >> turns out aliyah's grandfather was watching her and had no idea she made the phone call. the deputy did not mind though, it was the highlight of her day. she is pretty cute. more coming up in your next half our of "action news." ginger zee, a meteorologist, new mom and a contestant on "dancing with the stars." >> and the cast of funny ladies are making a major shakeup to the ghostbuster sequel.
