starting quarterback. the philadelphia flower show is in full swing the fun kicked off at the pennsylvania convention center. trish hartman has more. >> reporter: it is exciting there are lots of people enjoying themselves. they are exploring our nation's national park. i have to show you this exhibit. this is exploring new jersey, pine barrens, cape may, the lighthouse may look familiar. the flower show is in our own backyard. many traveled hundreds of miles to come here. we found two young ladies from northeastern pennsylvania who are self-proclaimed national park fanatics and they had to see it themselves. i think it was grand pragmatic spring.

reagan has died at the age of 94. this is a picture of her when she worked in the early 1950s as an actress in hollywood. she became america's first lady when her husband took office in 1981, of course, stick with "action news" at 6abc for updates on the life and death of nancy reagan at the age of 94. quite the icon. she'll be remembered in so many different ways right? a father and daughter are lucky and grateful to be alive after their small plane crashed on long island. the two were heading home after visiting a college after the plane's engine failed, marcy gonzalez is on long island with the story. >> reporter: a close call crash on long island. this father and daughter able to walk from the wreckage thanks to this parachute. the engine died, i pulled the parachute and we landed.

this afternoon of as we started out with 34. 39 in trenton, 43 in millville. wilmington, 41. 38 in the lehigh valley. wind speeds are generally light ranging anywhere from 5 to 9 miles per hour. now, these winds will pick up tomorrow afternoon. we could see winds as high as 20 to 25 miles per hour, but it will be a southerly wind which is a mild win flow for us for this time of the year. that will be the first in several things that will start the warmup here for us east of the appalachian states. satellite and radar, across the country we can, we can see the pattern starting to change. we're talking about rain showers as far north as winnipeg up in canada. there's no cold air, we're seeing the west to east flow dominating the weather pattern. that will be the pattern for the next several weeks until we get to the first or second day of spring, things may change up a little bit.
