more on this huge, community, effort. but first tonight a chester police captain remains in stable condition tonight following a confrontation with three suspects this afternoon. incident started when captain alan davis tried to pull a car over after it had been reported stolen. in this video obtain by a "action news", you can hear the police captain, including captain davis, repeatedly ordering occupants out of the car. to secure west third and parker streets. as captain in the white shirt there opened up the door a shot is fired from the window. captain davis was hit twice in the arm and in the chest. other officers shot back, killing one suspect, and injuring another and arresting a third. chester's police chief spoke with us after the incident. >> persons within the vehicle, uncooperative with police. then those exchanged of gunfire. it is our understanding someone began shooting at the police. the police returned fire. >> after the shooting neighbors gathered at the scene and held a vigil as investigators comb the crime

flagged down the nearest airport police officer and reported the firearm was missing. >> reporter: police say republic airways pilot was authorized to carry the gun as part of the federal flight deck officer program. the gun turned up two hours later in a janitor's supply closet next to the rest room. sixteen flights were delayed for about an hour while planes were searched. >> decisions were made based on safety of the flying public to delay flights to make sure that no flights took off with a dangerous item on board. >> reporter: this law enforcement officer and traveler was relieved to hear a gun was in the lock faa approved container. >> but still as a whole, you know, they need to tighten up the program. i'm sure there is some standard they have had in that program that weren't met and maybe they need to review the whole program. >> reporter: investigators a say no one was ever in any danger during the search but passengers we spoke with were surprised to hear that a pilot would leave a bag unattended. >> you would think that somebody that is a a pilot that is in the airport, who

flies all the time, would have a higher awareness, to make sure that these kind of things don't happen. >> definitely should be some reprimanding or there should be some reenforcement of the policies, because again, anyone could have picked it up. >> reporter: that janitor's name has not been released. we have reached out to republic airlines regarding the status of the pilot and we have not heard back. reporting live from philadelphia international airport trish hartman for channel six "action news". in delaware a teenager was killed and a 17 year-old girl is in critical condition after a crash involving a truck, and a tractor trailer. it happened along route 301 and strawberry lane in middletown. the accident investigators say driver of the dodge dakota pulled in the path of the big rig. the impact knocked the tractor trailer on to its the side and spun the pickup truck around several times. the school officials confirm that a young man named tyler brown, was the 17 year-old who died in the crash. a senior at padua high school was in the back seat under

what emergency surgery. two other people were also injured in that crash. also from delaware news room a 26 year-old man is recovering at christiana hospital after being shot in wilmington. shooter remains on the the loose. it happened just after 4:30 this afternoon inside of a home on the 400 block of west seventh street. the victim was found inside the home with the gunshot wound to the leg, there is no word on a motive or any possible suspects. fire fighters in chester county remain on the scene of a barn fire in cochranville. this is an amish dairy pharma long the 600 block of street road. feed being stored inside of that barn apparently caught fire and ended up destroying much of the structure as you can see. we're told animals inside were safely evacuated and no injuries have been reported. now to the the 2016 presidential primary race, senator ted cruz, is a winner of wyoming's republican primary in, fact he won by a land slide with 66 percent of the vote, and senator marco rubio was declared winner of

leader of the free world but he adds hillary clinton in the white house would be even worse, despite criticism, cruz says he will support the republican nominee whoever it is. meantime democrat bernie sanders calls trump a candidate who many ways was encouraging violence. sanders campaign in chicago trying to build momentum following his primary win in michigan. he continues to criticize rival hillary clinton over her campaign finances. with that said, clinton campaigned today in ohio telling voters in youngstown that she wants tougher restrictions on foreign auto parts. she hopes to rebound in winner take all ohio, one of the biggest prizes of the primary campaign. this is heading toward next tuesday which will answer some lingering questions about the presidential race. republican and democratic primaries will be held in illinois, missouri, north carolina, florida and ohio. florida and ohio, by the way are winner take all states, meaning the top democrat and republican will receive all on
