here's satellite and radar, you can see how quickly the clouds increased yesterday afternoon. we had a few spritzes and sprinkles across the delaware bay region. now we're watching the showers approach from the west. they should get in after lunchtime today. give or take a couple of hours. this will not be a washout. if you have plans, my brother has a horse shoe tournament this afternoon, there will be showers around. keep the umbrellas handy there could be a few renegade showers. 3:00 p.m., 59 degrees. 5:00 p.m., 57 degrees, again, most of us are seeing showers. speaking of showers, i hope you like the wet weather, we have showers in the forecast today. showers in the forecast tonight. more showers in the forecast tomorrow and there's showers in the forecast tomorrow night and tuesday morning. you get the idea we have several chances of wet weather in the seven-day forecast. but we have more summer-like temperatures to talk about.

when i come back this just a few minutesle i'll tell you when that arrives in the seven day. back to our breaking news, a man has been stabbed to death in rittenhouse square. this is the live picture of the scene on 18th street. homicide detectives and police have been here since the 24-year-old victim was attacked at 3:00 a.m. a group of friends were apparently if i finishing a nigt at the time they encountered a man who questioned them about the flyers and the man stabbed him with the knife. police arrived and began cpr and they took him to the hospital where he died. police did not indicate a motive, this does appear to be a random act. breaking this morning, a stray bullet killed an 18-year-old in west philadelphia. the action cam was on the 400 block of north salford street. the teen was standing on the sidewalk at 11:45 when gunfire

broke out among several men about a block away. a bullet struck the teenager in the chest. she was taken to penn presbyterian hospital where surgeons were unable to save her life. police have not made any arrests. fire destroyed a home in brigantine here in the 100 block of 45th street. firefighters got the call at 5:00 a.m. the roof collapsed and the flames damaged a neighboring house before crews were able to get this under control. nobody was inside when the fire started. a chester, pennsylvania police captain is hospitalized after being shot during a standoff. the exchange of gunfire left a suspect dead and another injured and some people in the area very upset with police. only "action news" has video of what police say is the captain coming under fire. it's hard to hear the police talk to the suspect on the video, but seconds later you hear the shots.

[speaking spanish] some residents later went to police right there in the streets to protest what happened. that's when the story took another dramatic turn. jeff chirico was there for the investigation and that fallout. >> reporter: in this video obtained excuse -- exclusively by "action news," you can hear the officers telling the people in the car to get out. as the officer approaches the door, a shot is fired through the wood. in the end one suspect was dead and another injured and third

arrest. alan davis was shot twice in the arm and torso. the car was stopped because it was believed it was stolen. person in the vehicle was uncooperative with the police, and then there was an exchange of gunfire. it is our understanding that someone fired on police and police returned fire. >> reporter: investigators processed the crime scene, but soon the crowd became restless and it is believed the police fired first. you can see the object thrown at police who peppered sprayed the crowd many ran from the scene their eyes burning. as the bullet-ridden car is towed away, many have questions about what happened questions that can be answered with the video. captain davis has been with the chester city police force for more than 25 years. jeff chirico channel 6 "action news" which i will.

rittenhouse square. philadelphia police are looking for the person who stabbed to death a man who was celebrating saint patrick's day with his friends. the attack happened at 18 and rittenhouse square. they were walking eastbound on rittenhouse, they approached the offender. there was a brief verbal altercation, a struggle ensued that lasted a few seconds, by witness's account the suspect stabbed the plaintiff across the chest area and fled the area. st police investigate this, they tell us when they got to the scene, the victim's friends were screaming trying to stop their friend from bleeding. police started cpr and took him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. the suspect appeared to be deranged, he ran off wearing a

stolen. in video obtained by "action news" you can hear police including captain davis order the occupants out of the car. this happened at west third and parker streets. as the captain opens the door a shot is fired out of the window. he was hit twice in the arm and chest. other officers shot back killing one suspect and injuring another and argue a third. chester's police chief spoke with us after the incident. persons in the vehicle were uncooperative with the police and there was an exchange of gunfire. it is our understanding that someone in the car began shooting at the police, police returned fire. neighbors gathered at the scene and held a vigil. a short time later, the crowd became restless and a scuffle broke out. some neighbors we spoke with say they think the police fired first, the investigation continues. your time 7:33. if you're just waking up with

dr. martin luther king in fairmont park after the car slammed into a tree. the action cam was at the scene near falls bridge, the vehicle went out of control after about 11:00 p.m. last night. the victims were taken to hanheman hospital where there is no word this morning about their condition. police are trying to determine what caused the crash. one of new jersey's best known basketball players was one of the two drivers involved in the crash that led to the death of state trooper sean cullen. dejuan wagner was driving a car on 295. the car that caused the crash caught fire. wagner was drafted in 2002 by the cavaliers, he played for several years before he was sidelined for injuries. things are back to normal at philadelphia international airport following an emergency on the ground. a pilot licensed to carry a weapon left his gun in the bathroom. now a january at her is facing

criminal charges. trish hartman has the story. >> reporter: police say it was a matter of minutes from the time the pilot left the public restaurant in the secure section of terminal b until he realized he forgot his bag. but it was too late, the bag was gone. immediately the pilot flagged down the nearest airport police officer and reported the firearm was missing. >> reporter: the public airways pilot was authorized to carry the gun. the gun turned up in a janitor supply closet next to the restroom. 16 flights were delayed for an hour while planes were searched. the decisions were made based on on the safety of the flying public to make sure no flights facebook off with a dangerous -- took off with a dangerous item on board. as a whole they need to tighten up the program.
