after bed bugs were found at a philadelphia high school. and a strip mall in delaware county is evacuate affidavit a gas leak. but the big story is march madness, the local version. three area teams take to the court today. villanova and temple tip-off this afternoon and st. joe's plays tonight. jeff skversky is live now in brooklyn where the nova game is about to get underway. >> villanova says this is the year, they are finally ready to make a deep run in the naacp tournament after some early exits the last couple of years, this is the year. well, it starts today at 12:40 against unc ashville team they have never played before. here is head coach jay wright and the team arriving at the barclay center where they are 4-0 all time.

and even though they are a two seed taking on a 15 seed they are not taking this lightly. they beat georgetown earlier this year. villanova fans they need your help, they are calling on fans to come out here to brooklyn and intimidate the underdog. >> we are close, but it could be distracting, the challenge is trying to block that out and in the fans we may see a face we recognize not thinking anything of other than playing villanova basketball. >> we have family and friends here and we need to focus on each other and go out and play our game. >> you love the support from the fans. >> oh, yes definitely. we know they travel well to new york. >> temple will play after the nova game, roughly 3:10 against iowa. a team they never played before.

facebook and twitter and other social platforms. in other news, a gas leak forced the vacs yag of a strip mall in upper darby. chopper 6 hd was on the 500 block of south 69th street. crews responded to the gas leak and nobody was hurt. peco crews are on the scene as crews continue to ventilate the area. philadelphia police are trying to track down a driver that may have hit a stabbing victim late last night. the stabbing happened on the 4700 block of oxford avenue in the city's frankford section, a man in his 20s was stabbed multiple times in the chest and ran from the scene and made it a block and either was hit by or ran into a white suv. both the stabbing and crash are under investigation. no arrests have been made. new at noon, chester police are investigating a homicide, one person died after shots were

fired at the 10 hundred block of mcdowell avenue. plea police are not releasing any other information. no arrests are made. police in allentown are looking into what sparkd this fire on north carolina street last night. the red cross is now helping those that were displaced. crews are cleaning up a philadelphia high school after bed bugs were found. the school is still open but the parents want it closed. annie mccormick has the story. >> reporter: the school district is aware of the bed bug problem at dobbins. and they say the children are safe but the parents don't agree. >> they need to schools, this is coming from the school into our homes and then if we keep them

out of school we are in trouble. >> reporter: this lady is reacting to the letter that went out earlier this week. bed bugs found at dobbins high school. and that afternoon exterminators steamed and vacuumed the school and set to be done again next week during spring break. children were angered because they were kept in the classroom. >> bed bugs do not like being in school. it's not a welcoming place for them because it's cold and they cannot do what they want to do, and that is reproduce. >> nasty and weird. making you not want to sit down. >> my mom said they are blood suckers and hitchhikers, i'm about to turn around and go home. i don't have time for this. >> the district says that dealing with bed bugs is a problem for schools operating in a city and take this opportunity

the 30 to 35 miles per hour range and saturday however, this cold front bypasses us to the south and east and high pressure moves in relatively colder air for this time of year. sunshine and a few high clouds at 48 degrees. it's hard to track snow when you think that temperatures are so nice and mild for the system we track late saturday into sun but change is coming our way. much colder, an area of low pressure transferred to a developing nor'easter for saturday night and throughout the day on sunday. snowfall by 7:30 in the morning on sunday for philadelphia, that 95 corridor points to the north and west. it looks to be rain for south jersey and areas in delaware as well. but there has been a little bit of change from this morning into the afternoon with how much snow we are expecting. as far as the snowfall, nuisance coating to an inch, 20% of seeing that amount. a light 1 to 3 inches in the region, 40% of that and moderate

3 to 6 inches across the region 30% chance and 10% chance of this being heavy snowfall. the storm system is shifting farther to the east and the majority of that snow falling during the day and that lessens the snowfall across the region. mild and windy up to 62 today and saturday it's brisk and colder and only 48 degrees, wet snow and rain on sunday in at 38 and 42 and brisk and chilly on monday and 44 next tuesday and back up into the 60s wednesday and thursday, but the timing of the snow on sunday will determine what we see. there is much more straight ahead in our next half our of "action news" at 12:30, several members of the police department are given promotions moving up in the ranks. those stories and more when we come right back.
