sends one person to the hospital. this morning investigators are calling it suspicious. plus, two local teams advance in the ncaa tournament and one of the games came down to one tenth of a second. those stories, but first the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast with meteorologist chris sowers. we're talking possible snow tomorrow? >> reporter: we have good news, everything is calming down a bit and shifting out to sea which means lower snowfall totals. in the meantime, the clouds increase as we controversy look the center city skyline. they will lower and thicken throughout the day. the first of two pieces to the overall storm system this weekend swings through this afternoon, it produces rain showers across the area. temperatures wise wise you can see how mild the numbers are. they are mild for snow this late in the season. 41 in millville. cape may, 42. atlantic city, 40 degrees. here's the first part of this

overall storm system. the first piece of energy riding along the mason dixon lines. you can see the snow breaking out across the upper portions of the appalachian states. it runs into the mild air and produces rain showers. 9:00 a.m. we're cloudy at this point now. 42 degrees in philadelphia. 11:00 a.m., cloudy skies, 44. 1:00 p.m., 46 degrees, at that point expect to see showers south of the city. 3:00 p.m., same thing, 44, 5:00 p.m., 43. mostly cloudy skies, that's the call from accuweather. rain showers possible during the afternoon. high temperatures top out at 46 degrees. getting back to the coastal storm we're monitoring tomorrow. it appears it has shifted farther out to sea. we'll have lower snowfall totals we'll have a huge warm up in the seven-day forecast. two highrise buildings were

reduced to rubble. you saw the implosion live on "action news." trish hartman was there when the buildings came down. at one point you had a mask on, tell us what it is like down there. >> reporter: it was intense once the buildings came down, the dust rolled in quickly. the dust settled and the cleanup begins. crews are working to clear debris and dust from the roads and reopening the roads that were closed this morning because of the implosion. the highrise buildings were behind me and just before 7:30 a.m. they came crashing down. [explosion sound]. >> reporter: it only took two seconds for the 18 story buildings to come down shaking the ground where we are standing. housing authority said the whole thing went off without a hitch.

they were emptied last year. they were relocated they will have prior to -- priority if they want to move back into the homes. one woman said she can't wait to move back and pha officials are happy to hear that. we caught the edged of it -- the ending of it, and there's nothing we can do about it, we will come back. folks who live in the properties they are in, they don't own them. that will change. folks need to have a stake in the community in order for its vitality. >> reporter: low cost housing be will be built, a mix of rental and ownership units they will begin building in september. crews are working to clear the area, folks say -- officials say

folks should be able to return to their homes by early afternoon. trish tresh channel 6 "action news." thanks for the update. the time 9:04. new this morning, a person is in the hospital after a suspicious fire in philadelphia's kensington section. this happened around 2:00 p.m. at a beauty salon on the 3000 block of kensington avenue. crews arrived to find smoke pouring from the salon. the building houses apartments on the upper floors. crews took a person to the hospital for smoke inhalation. he is in stable condition. the fire is being called suspicious. in delaware county a two-alarm fire damaged a day care and a church. the action cam was on the scene on the 100 block of ridge avenue in he darby. the fire started at creative minds learning center. it's attached to a church. the church had shock and water

damage. no word on what caused the fire. two cars crashed causing serious injuries on the schuylkill expressway in the westbound lanes between university avenue and south street. two plain clothes police officers passed one of the cars involved in it, and helped the two victims and doused an engine fire until state police and firefighters arrived on the scene. developing now in russia, crews have recovered flight recorder from a plane that went down killing all six 2 people on board. video shot near the airport appears to show a fireball in a blast believed to be the crash. thched -- this happened while the fly dubai airline was trying to land in strong wind. most of the passengers were russian. four children are among the dead. this morning the top suspect in the deadly attacks in

paris is out of the hospital. salah abdeslam faces questioning, he was arrested in belgium. we have more from brussels. >> reporter: gunshots rang out as heavily armed s.w.a.t teams moved in. after four months on the run, one of the most wanted men in the world finally cornered on a quiet brussels street. the man in the hooded sweatshirt believed to be salah abdeslam dragged to a waiting police car seeming to limp after being shot in the leg. he is a called 8th attacker the only survivor of the deadly attack that left 130 dead across paris. the french citizen grew up in belgium, a childhood friend of the paris mastermind. he drove the car carrying the suicide bombers to the soccer

stadium. he rented the car that dropped off the isis attackers at the a bataclan theater where the eagles of death metal were performing. authorities salah abdeslam planned on carrying out another i tack that night and got cold feet. when they stopped at a french gas station, surveillance cameras snapped this image. the three were stopped, but allowed to pass into belgium. his family claimed they didn't know where he was and under him to turn himself in. authorities conducted more than 100 raise and argue 58 people. -- arresting 58 people. meanwhile, salah abdeslam said he feels trying to get to syria, worried his supporters in syria were unhappy he didn't detonate his suicide belt. a break in the case, this raid

forecast. spring starts tomorrow and you're caulking about the "s" word, snow. >> reporter: let's get you outside. we've toned things down overnight. the computer guide is suggesting the storm will track out to sea, which is good for us, we had three months where we could have picked it up and mother nature refused to throw it our way. now it's spring and we don't want to see it. there's a beautiful shot overlooking the ben franklin bridge. we have cloudy conditions and rain off to the southwest. double scan live showing the showers beginning to approach around the baltimore and washington, d.c. metro area south of dover shifting east at 15 to 20 miles per hour. you'll see cooler temperatures to the south saturday all the cloud cover and scattered showers. you get into the lehigh valley you're topping out around 47 or 48. millville or cape may are 44, 45. big difference where you have

the thicker clouds. 43, pressure is rising. winds have shifted off the ocean at 9 miles per hour and ushering in the milder rare. millville, 40. upper 30s, north and west. double scan live, we're watching two areas of low pressure one in the north across the ohio valley. the other one down to the south. this is the one that becomes the coastal storm. the problem is what the forecast guidance is showing now, these systems never american until it goes out to sea. it becomes a colossal storm and affects the canadian maritimes. we thought it was going to merge here off the coast of carolinas and that would be a moderate snowfall for us. if that process happens a little farther out to sea, thanks to the high pressure knocking everything to the east. we're not expecting much in the way of snow. future tracker 6, cloudy

conditions, light rain south of philadelphia. later this evening, couple of wet snowflakes try to mix in, but most of it is light rain. overnight tonight we get a lull in the action, it becomes quiet. first thing tomorrow morning, clouds increase and we see scattered rain and snow showers develop throughout the day. key points with the storm system it trends to the east, farther out to sea. we lowered the snowfall totals. the freezing mark is 32 we're forecasting 39. snowfall totals we have one to two incheses on grassy surfaces the i-95 corridor. a coating to the an inch across cumberland and cape may counties in south jersey and kent county in delaware.

joke or not, a tennessee woman could be in big trouble for posting a social media picture that many find to be disturbing. the user's feed includes this picture of two children with their mouths bound with duct tape. the caption reads kids for sale, 45% off. i could not breathe, it took my breath away caused extreme emotional distress. that's no joke, i find it offensive. here's the picture we were talking about. the tennessee department of children's services are doing research before investigating the family. the woman's cousin said it was a lesson learned bottom line. the children are safe and they are loved.

center city and police have a suspect in custody. crews are working to stick a broken water main that caused a road to buckle, but first we go outside to meteorologist chris sowers and the accuweather forecast. chris, spring starts tomorrow what's up with the snow forecast. >> reporter: doesn't feel like spring starts tomorrow. it's chilly out here. we have temperatures in the upper 30s and low 40s, we have a breeze blowing across city avenue. wilmington checking at 41. millville, 40. dover, 42. upper 30s to the northwest. poconos a chilly 32 degrees this morning. trenton, 38 and atlantic city 40. satellite and radar, showing the clouds quickly increasing now as the first of a two part system begins to swing in from the west. you can see the snows across the appalachians, pittsburgh reporting a snow shower. is an -- shan shannondoah valley

seeing snow showers. this will pull east over the next few hours. we'll zoom into the southern portion of the viewing area. we have green in western portions of kent and new castle county. if you're taking the cape may lewis ferry, you might see showers around the mouth of the delaware bay. showers increase west to east later this afternoon. the day planner looks like, cloudy and chilly. we'll top out at 46 degrees around 1:00 p.m. once the showers begin temperatures will start to fall off. 44 by 3:00 p.m. 43 degrees by 5:00 p.m. in terms of what we are expecting tomorrow, we have lowered the snowfall totals as the latest forecast guidance shifts this out to sea. this is more of a nuisance event. mayben inch to a coating. some areas could see more, but the trend seems to be out to

sea. i'll show you the snowfall map and tell you what to expect in your neighborhood and then we have a warmup in the seven day. that's straight ahead. demolition day in north philadelphia two highrise buildings were reduced to rubble this morning the implosion makes room for new housing, "action news" reporter, trish hartman has been at the scene all morning long, trish we saw the dust consume the area, how the things now? >> reporter: the dust has settled. the two 18 story buildings that were behind are gone. crews are blowing dust and debris out of the roads getting ready to open them in a few hours. the highrise buildings were there and in a few seconds they were gone. that was around 7:25 a.m., the 18 story buildings came crashing down.

philadelphia housing authority officials say the implosion went smoothly. no issues reported. a massive dust cloud rolled toward us, dust masks were handed out, and it was very thick and people got out of here quickly. one woman and her grandson moved out in june she is anxious to move back when the housing is complete. while her 16-year-old grand son was more no -- no. it hurt. >> reporter: what did it look like or sound like? it's like my heart was breaking. >> reporter: for this young man this was the only place he ever lived. 1200 new affordable housing units for rental and ownership units will go in place of the

buildings that were torn down today. if you had to leave your home or move your car, crews are working on cleaning up the area right now. you should be able to return home in the early afternoon. trish hartman channel 6 "action news." >> new skyline in north philadelphia. a water main break caused a road to buckle as the driver was crossing over the street. the tow truck had to remove the suv from north 8th and norris street in north philadelphia. utility crews were working at the intersection friday. pgw are responding to the smell of natural gas in the area of the ruptured road. no homes are being evacuated at this point. philadelphia police are investigating three separate shootings that left a man dead and several others hurt. shots were fired near the intersection of wyoming and rising sun avenue in feltonville. officers found a large crowd running from the parking lot of the rite aid.

a man was lying on the ground with a gunshot injury. he had 30 bags of crack cocaine. they took another man into custody after finding drugs and guns in his car. it is not clear if he is considered a suspect in the shooting. officers responded to a double shooting in north philadelphia. that happened around 11:30 around the 1200 block of west seltzer street. one victim died, the other is in critical condition. another shooting in north philadelphia sent a man to the hospital around 11:15 on the 2900 block of notaries -- north reese street. the victim was found lying near a home in the area. a pennsylvania supreme court justice is recovering after a violent encounter in center city. a homeless man punched kevin

>> reporter: dr. arthur evans of philadelphia's department of behavioral health schizophrenia is a collection of disorders. it strikes when people are in the prime of their lives, between 16 and 30. to give you an idea of what it's like, i did a training exercise created by clinical psychologist dr. patricia deegan. she compiled a variety of voices based on on patient experiences. while hearing the voices i'm asked to complete different tasks. i'm going to tell you five words. >> reporter: the most difficult was having a conversation answering people questions. but as distressing as it can be, evans says there's hopefully' he said two-thirds of people with schizophrenia improve with

treatment, medication and therapy. he wants to clear up misconceptions such as people with schizophrenia are dangerous. generally speaking people with sciz friend -- schizophrenia are no more violent than the general population. >> reporter: right now, darren is not hearing voices, medications helps him copy. nationwide there's a lot to improve mental healthcare. he stresses people in the communicate need to get involved. it's not just how great our treatments are, people have to then interact in the community context and if that community context is one in which there is stigma, discrimination it can
