rescue a person from a burning home in delaware county. crews used chain saws to gain access through the roof of the home. the upper floor of the three story home were burning when firefighters arrived on the scene. one person was rescued from a third floor room and taken to crozer-chester hospital for treatment. there is no word on a cause. police took a man into custody for allegedly starting a fire in west kensington overnight. firefighters were called to the 3100 block of custer street. police say the man started fire by lighting curtains. a homeless man arrested for allegedly attacking a state supreme court justice near city hall will 0 face a judge in court this week. meanwhile, his mother is talking to "action news." she said maybe this will lead to

the help that her son needs. >> reporter: this mother opens up about her son's schizophrenia that left his homeless and led to the attack on the supreme court judge friday night. police say he hit kevin dougherty in the face after asking him for money near city hall. the 26-year-old was arrested nearby. a plaque in the home a reminder of a young man's baseball career. he was diagnosed which changed him. we would have him here and try to help him, but he wouldn't follow through with patient care or medications, because he said the medications make him feel like a zombie. >> reporter: living on the streets since october, james

atlantic county with temperatures in the low 40s. by 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon we'll see light rain showers across south jersey and delaware with a couple of snowflakes trying to mix in. temperatures in the upper 30s and low 40s. it's mild out there, in terms of show, obviously for today's date these are chilly temperatures. when we're talking about snow we have temperatures in the 40s that's mild. 1:00 p.m. we switch over to light snow. note the numbers, they are all above the 32 degrees which is the freezing mark. 8:00 a.m. most of it is long gone tap. tomorrow afternoon whafer snow you see -- whatever snow you see on the ground, it is long gone when temperatures climb into the low 40s and 50s. today is cloudy, rain showers are possible. wet snowflakes may mix in from time to time. overnight tonight, expect the transition over to light snow especially east of the delaware

he left them when he ran away from a scene. a man is in the hospital after his suv flipped over on a philadelphia street, the 900 block of east cathedral road in the andora section of the city. it took ten minutes to free the trapped driver. he was taken to einstein medical center with non-life threatening injuries. this morning, palm sunday service will go on inspite of a fire that burned a delaware church. firefighters were called to the church on the 100 block of darby borough, the creative minds children's center is attached to want church. the day care is trying to figure out how to care for the children come tomorrow morning. we're trying to relocate the children to the area, so if someone is listening to this

it 21 members of an indiana basketball team were inside the school bus that was flipped over on its side. 6 adults were on the bus. no life threating injuries. the players were heading to a

died. it happened on west main street yesterday afternoon. the victim is a 20-year-old man from massachusetts. school leaders from the university of delaware say he is not a student. although fraternity members live at the home, it is not considered a frat house affiliated with a school. it was more than a year since a father of 6 was shot to death at a friends home in camden. today the search continues for his killer. rick williams has more in the crime fighters report. he had a lot of joy in his life. >> reporter: 35-year-old harold gordon was known as torrell he was a father of 6. gordon was watching one of his sons when his aunt said he got a phone call. supposedly he had a phone call saying man, come help me out. these guys doing this about the

basketball court. >> reporter: around 5:00 p.m., gordon went to the friend's house along the thousand block of division street in camden. the friend was not home. that's when gordon was shot a couple of times. the family gathered at cooper university hospital and stood vigil by gordon for days, he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries on january 23. he did not deserve whatever happened to him. it is extremely frustrating it's federal rules straight to talk to the -- frustrating to talk to the families because you want to give them justice. >> reporter: the citizens crime commission is administering 3,500-dollar reward for the arrest and conviction of the person response call 215-546-tips -- person responsible. call 215-546-tips. all calls remain anonymous. the family are the victims at this point we are in mourning
