the sickened birds are being treated tonight. trish. >> reporter: monica, three surviving eagles are in stable can condition here in newark, delaware. five of the eagles throw were not so lucky and officials are trying to figure out why. this is one of the majestic bald eagles found over the weekend sick and disoriented in dagsborough delaware 11 birds suffering from some sort of mystery illness. five didn't make it but three are being treated here at tri-state bird rescue in newark. this photo shows one of the young eagles being tube fed at the rescue. >> most of the birds that are brought to us for care, they've been injured because of some interaction with man. so, this might be just another type of injury that's man-made. >> reporter: the first bald eagle was found dead in a field in dags borrow on saturday about two hours south of wilmington. not far away a group of disoriented birds was discovered and captured but not all of them survived the trip to the rescue.

two more eagles were found in the same area on sunday, one of them dead. state and u.s. fish and wildlife officials don't yet know what's causing the illness saying it could be environmental. tests have been performed on the eagles and the lab results should be back in a few days. >> we need to figure it out so we can stop any kind of spread whether it's biological or natural, you know, whatever has caused this. >> reporter: this comes about a month after 13 bald eagles were discovered dead about 30 miles away near federals burg maryland. in that case it was determined the eagles did not die of natural causes and the $25,000 reward is now being offered. fish and wildlife officials do not believe the two cases are connected. >> any sort of thing like this is important to us. it's its our mission is to work to protect the animals of delaware. >> reporter: now, officials weren't able to capture all of the sick birds this weekend. three of them flew away. if you do see any sick or dead birds, do not try to touch or capture them yourself and if

you have any information about the dead eagles, call the fish and wildlife natural resources 24 hour hotline at 800-292-3030. livlive in newark delaware, trih hartman channel6 "action news." >> officials still trying to determine what caused a driver to plow through this community center in camden county this afternoon. a wall is now missing at the wayne bryant community center in lawnside. four people in that car were taken to the hospital as a precaution. there was an event going on inside when the car crashed at which tock. fortunately no one inside was hurt. a philadelphia police officer nursing minor injuries after this wreck in the kensington section this afternoon. officials say the 24th district officer was injured in a crash while responding to a foot pursuit. the officer was taken to episcopal hospital for treatment. no arrests so far. atlantic city's financial crisis is forcing the closure of city hall. mayor don guardian released a statement today saying that city hall will actually close

april 8th until the city receives its next quarterly tax payment. that is expected on may second. employees by the way will not be paid during that time but health benefits will remain active. guardian says the essential services like police fire and some public works, though, will continue. 300 teenagers alcohol and marijuana. upper darby police say that was the recipe for a rowdy party this weekend and now for two adults who were there at the home at the time, they're under arrest. ahmaddiya and 47-year-old michelle ahmaddiya were arraigned on disorderly conduct and providing alcohol to under aged teens. police say saturday night as many as 300 teens showed up at their home in the 3900 block of mary street for a party their 17-year-old daughter promoted on social media. >> when the parents do it and they condone it, they're getting locked up because that's totally irresponsible and it's criminal. >> reporter: around 10:30 officers responded to 911 calls from neighbors and found about a hundred teens outside the house. many more inside drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana. chitwood compared the party to the national lampoon movie animal house. >> beer cans, beer cases all over the place. it was an absolute animal house best way to describe it. >> reporter: neighbors watched from their homes as the teens scattered jumping from wing dose running through yards ripping down fences along the way. >> it's unbelievable.

i couldn't believe it especially when i heard it was coming from a party you a like how did they fit that many people into a house. >> reporter: it took officers hours to clear the neighborhood. at one point police say abdul ahmaddiya confronted the police at his house. >> this is his party and he didn't care if they were juveniles or not they were allowed the drink and they were allowed to smoke dope in his house. >> reporter: abdul was arrested at his home last night. michelle was arrested here at the police department when she came to bail him out this morning. both were able to post the 10 percent cash of their $2,500 bail. their 17-year-old daughter was cited for possessing and transporting alcohol. live at the upper darby police department, i'm sarah bloomquist channel6 "action news. monica. >> thank you sarah. philadelphia police searching for a car thieve they say drove off while dragging the owner of the car. this is surveillance video. watch this from the express fuel store in the 6300 block of frankford avenue in the mayfair section. the suspect jumps into this silver honda civic.

it was left running outside the store on march third. the 29-year-old victim comes out, cease what's happening and tries to stop him. she was dragged about 25 feet. the victim fortunately was treater for just minor injuries. the fbi needs your help tonight tracking down a bank robbery suspect. authorities say the man in these surveillance pictures targeted a pnc bank at 4753 north broad street in philadelphia saturday. they say the robber had a black cane. if you have information on the suspect, please call the fbi violent crimes task force. the number is there 215-418-4000. the lead water crisis in flint, michigan continues to make headlines. today philadelphia officials held a public hearing trying to assure folks the water here is safe. but they learned that there are things you may need to do to reduce your own lead exposure from water lines. monica. well, it was sort of a big picture, little picture issue. the big picture the city says the water department and the big water main lead is not an issue. the little picture in this case are those individual lines that run to individual homes, they're called service lines. some of those in older homes are actually made of lead and that could be of concern. philadelphia processes about 250 million gallons of drinking water a day. given the mess in flint, council wanted to know about lead here. >> let me begin by noting that philadelphia's drinking water is lead free and that there are clear differences between flint and philadelphia. >> reporter: the water commissioner maintains the water delivered to consumers is lead free. the concern service lines smaller pipes that branch off underground to individual buildings, they belong to property owners. it's estimated in philadelphia 50 to 60,000 service lines are made of lead. still others are copper with lead sodder. >> risk for led contamination

arises when water passes through lead service lines indoor plum organize faucets. >> reporter: unlike flint philadelphia adds a corrosion inhibitor during water treatment that significantly reduces the contamination risk. >> quite simply we add phosphate at our water plants and that will coat the pipes so you prevent the water from coming in contact with the lead pipe or the lead sodder. >> reporter: but nothing is 100 pearls. the water department and other experts told council if someone has lead pipes or joints, they should run the cold water tap for at least three to five minutes after a period of nonuse say overnight. the goal, to flush out any possible lead contamination. >> there's a longstanding recommendation that residents as well as schools and day-care centers flush the water in their plumbing first thing in the morning. >> reporter: running its water that way may not strike you as an elegant solution but it is a recommend dead solution if you have lead service lines. the water commissioner has a

saluting him seven-year-old liam lindsey arrived at gloucester township police headquarters for a special ceremony where he was sworn in as an honorary member of the force. liam has been battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia for two and a half years and during chemotherapy spinal taps and everything that goes along with treatment but it never dampened his dream to be a cop. how come you what to be a police officer. >> because it's the coolest job in the world. >> he just wants to help people. he's got a really great heart and he's just a wonderful kid. >> reporter: you the nurse at glendora elementary where liam is a student told the school resource officer you how much liam loved police officers and that led to this outpouring of support. liam got to participate in a k-9 demonstration with a police dog named arrow and got a birds' eye view from the swat team armored truck. what did he like best. >> driving around in the swat vehicle. how was that. >> good. i also liked the drone. >> reporter: the drone is

what liam called the swat team's robot. >> very emotional. i'm just so thank full that our community could come together, the police officers and do something like this for a sick little boy. >> reporter: some of the officers who participated today came in on their days off but they wanted to be a part of making liam's dream of becoming a police officer can come true. >> it touches us because guys have kids. they see we're not always projected in the best way and when kids look up to us like that, like we're their hero it's a good feeling for us and we just want to make him happy whether they're seven years old or 57 years old. we take this job to help people and i think we did that today. >> reporter: in gloucester township, i'm nora muchanic, channel6 "action news." that's just the way things should be done. that's important to me. my name is glenn, and i'm an independent turkey farmer.

the flyers embarked on a big four game road trip tonight. it begins in brooklyn against the islanders. the flyers three points out of the final wild card spot with michal neuvirth out steve mason will be back in net. do you want a tangible sign that spring is upon us? well, the phillies open their regular season in cincinnati two weeks from today. phils and tigers in spring training play this afternoon. sixth inning game tied at one maikel franco that single drinks in jackson. cedric hunter with a man on it's a two run homer. the phillies win four-three. they are 14 and five in spring training play. tampa bay rays are in cuba tomorrow they'll face the cuban national team in an exhibition team. it will mark the first time since a major league team since the orioles did it back in 1999. >> thank you diocese. adam joseph with that accuweather forecast coming your way next.

>> meteorologist adam joseph here for cecily to tell us more. >> if you have patience in the next couple days you're going to go wait a minute feels like summer out here. >> oh. >> temperatures are really going spike in the middle of the week but as we look at double scan live radar a few clouds popped up this afternoon after a morning snow and then majority of the day was sunny and then the clouds came in again in spots this afternoon but no precipitation whatsoever at the present time. but, yes, some of us did see that touch of snow early this morning. in philadelphia we saw a trace of snow so there were some patches of snow here and there but once you got into new jersey, southern delaware that's where most of it fell. close to a half inch in mount

holly this morning, cape may near an inch and a half and on either side of 2-inches the farther east you are in new jersey and southern areas estell manor at 1.9-inches and toms river 2.1 officially but all the the snow has melted away. that march sun is very strong and in fact by midweek we are looking at numbers that will be in the upper 60's and if not into the 70's come thursday afternoon, even up in the poconos those temperatures will be warming well into the 60's. still a chill, though, out there right now. 45 in allentown, 46 in reading, 48 in wilmington. we felt those winds driving in out of the northwest. that made it feel even colder than the air temperatures but the winds will ease overnight tonight. there are the batch of clouds that have pushed in from the north and west not holding any moisture whatsoever. you have to lift north of i80 to see any kind of snow showers but once the sun sets in the next hour or so you're going to see these clouds really fade off of the satellite. in fact, the skies go clear overnight tonight, less wind

but very cold, 26 in allentown, 27 in that reading, 29 in wilmington. right around freezing for philadelphia. a little bit above at the shore but most areas will be dropping below that 32-degree threshold. then as we go he to tomorrow, high pressure is down to the south. it's a good position if you want warmth because the winds around high are clockwise and it will throw a warm front our way. we get some high clouds coming in but a good amount of sun, 57 degrees after that chilly start and then the front stalls off to our north. north of this front it only stays in the 20's and 30's for highs in central and northern new england but we're just far enough south of the front that we're looking at 70 here on wednesday and that warmth builds across much of the eastern half of the country, lots of sunshine and temperatures 15 degrees above average. the only fly in the ointment if you are an allergy sufferer the next few days that pollen is going to jump up with these warm dry days. tuesday on the medium high side, the culprit it juniper
