and 190 were injured including nine americans. and tonight isis is claiming responsibility. three explosions rocked brussels also known as the capital of europe. the first two happened at brussels international airport at 8:00 local time and a third explosion rocked a metro stop near the headquarters of the european union. vernon odom has more on the heightened caution has spurred here in philadelphia but first to "action news" reporter, sara bloomquist live in our satellite center tracking the latest developments from overseas. >> reporter: the manhunt is intensifying for at least one suspect. after isis claims responsibility for the three explosions that killed at least 34 people. in brussels, the security forces raided a home and found an explosive device and chemical products along with an isis flag. two explosions rocked brussels airport shortly before 8:00

a.m., witnesses describe the terrifying moment. >> big bang and everybody cried and ran along here and we saw smoke you know. >> this cell phone video shows smoke filled terminal and lug able and luggage scattered about and this woman screaming for help and people huddled on the floor. >> we passed security where the bombing took place and we were being rushed and push add way to the exit. >> a third bomb that did not explode was found and neutralized and police are hunting for the man on the right seen on airport surveillance and he is considered suspects, the other two men wearing black gloves on their left hands are likely suicide bombers. just over an hour later a bomb exploded in the last car of a subway train as it pulled out of the maalbeek subway station. in cuba president obama was

activists say that philadelphia has six months to clean up their act. philadelphia's police commissioner says he is ready to hold the department responsible. trish hartman has the story. >> reporter: philadelphia police commissioner richard ross and other officials emerged from court after a meeting with the judge and members of the civil liberties union. >> the judge had concerns. >> those were over the forces used with stop and frisk, a controversy police practice the subject of a lawsuit that police were stopping and frisking people without good reason. in the first half of 2015, 33% of all stops and 42% of all frisks were made without reasonable suspicion. the aclu says if things don't improve in six months they will seek sanctions from the courts. >> it has to be something subjective. it can't be an officer thinking,

regional high. and officials got suspicious and they discovered a small plastic bag containing six prescription pills in the hole of the donut. well, the villanova wildcats are on their way to kentucky ahead of their showdown and the team got a big sendoff on campus. students alumni and fans gathered outside of davis center as the team started their journey to louisville. on thursday night the wildcats play the third seeded miami hurricanes hoping to land a spot in the elite eight as they continue their push to the final four. watch jeff skversky's reports from louisville starting later this week. matt pellman is in the traffic center. how are we looking? >> i have things i want to send off and we sent off two of them.

three broken down vehicles, one left approaching the vine street expressway partially sticking out into the left lane and northbound traffic jammed solid north of the walt whitman bridge up to girard avenue where one of the vehicles was blocking a lane for a while. and the vine street expressway is jammed from the schuylkill to 95 and in the mix a crash from broad street taking out the left lane. also extra jam on the southbound side of the blue route this afternoon, 476 speeds in the teens approaching villanova to springfield a crash in the shoulder and traffic light troubles in berlin along cross keys road and lyndonwald along laurel road and runnemede an accident on the black horse pike near eltequila restaurant. i'm feeling a margarita. >> hold the salt. >> okay. more to come on "action news" at 5:00, it's primary day

dow jones 41 points down and the s&p dropped 2 by the closing bell. starbucks says it plans to donate any food that it doesn't sell in its stores, company officials are aiming to contribute 100% of the left overs to a national network of food lanks, the idea came from baristas and they plan to donate 5 million meals this year. and they are researching the safest way to keep the food until it is eaten. and people keeping the city safe and clean for 25 years were honored today. they honored 11 people that worked with the city district since it was founded in 1991. mayor kenney was there to say thank you to the honorees. they are made up of representatives and cleaning crews and others were recognized for 5, 10, 15 and 20 years of service as well.

in tonight's health check, montgomery county is taking a step to reach people that need mental health care. the mind care kiosk was unveiled at the ymca, 160 people have used the free standing station to take an anonymous question and answer test. inside of the machine is a suite of screenings that screen store anxiety. ptsd and alcohol and sub stabs abuse, bipolar and depression. >> and it points to local help and kiosks are at the montgomery community college, mana on main street on landsdale and einstein physicians in collegeville. to relief your back pain it may be bet toward go through the mind, a study with 300 adults show that those that use mindful meditation, a form of psycho

from coach jay wright and the players coming up in sports. right now take a look at the three men in this surveillance video, the two dressed in dark clothing on the left are believed to be the suicide bombers that blue themselves up today the man in the light coat and hat on the right is still on the run, belgium security forces are working under the assumption that the same cell that claim responsibility for brussels were behind the terror attack in paris in november. >> a suspected paris attack two bombs when off at the airport and both believed to be detonated by suicide bombers, 11 minutes later a bomb went off at theway station.

>> some stood around in a daze and others a starbuck workers just ran away and at least 10 people were killed and 100 injured. 77 minutes after the blast at brussels airport a second attack at the maalbeek metro station. near the cultural center of belgium and this video was posted of passengers evacuating the area walking on the tracks in a dark smokey tunnel to try to get out. 21 people were killed in the subway in the second attack and more than 100 were injured. three mormon missionaries from utah. all are in the hospital with serious injuries, the u.s. military says that an american service member and five members of his family were also injured.

their names and the severity of their injuries is not yet released. armed officers scoured the surrounding neighborhoods, this video shows two policemen with guns drawn checking rooftop doors for clues and investigators say they recovered chemicals and a bomb filled with nails and an isis flag. >> we are hearing horrific stories from people that were inside when the bomb went off. >> after the second explosion many people panicked and many people cried -- most went down to the ground to try to hide. between the counter or anything else. >> and that airport will be closed until thursday. meantime, the head of the

department of homeland security says there is no specific or credible intelligence to a threat to the u.s. however rail stations and airports across the country are not taking chances. counter terrorism officers in cities like new york, chicago and d.c. are making their presence felt. they will be visible along with specialized dog teams that can detect suicide vests and bag checks at subway entrances. lets take a live look at philadelphia international airport passengers that that arrived last night, a second plane leaving for philadelphia was scheduled to leave 90 minutes after the attacks but was canceled. police are beefing up security at the airport and 30th street station. in the wake of the brussels attack people around the world turned to social media to share

philadelphia man is underway more than 30 years after his little sons died at their oxford circle home. and daniel dougherty was convicted for murdering his 2-year-old and 3-year-old sons, dougherty was sentenced to death but his sentence was then vacated in 2012 after an appeals court rule that his defense lawyer was ineffective. philadelphia police say two suspects were caught on video stealing from the kohls department store. a man and woman were putting on jackets in the corner of the store and stuffing merchandise in the jackets. they left the store without paying for the items, if you recognize these two are you asked to call investigators. >> time for sports and ducis is here and we are talking about villanova and miami. can't get here any quicker. >> excitement is building for this game. we are two days away from villanova's most significant game into years.
