"action news" reporter trish hartman has more. >> reporter: buses pulled up and the fans came running. >> wow, wow. >> reporter: one by one players stepped foot on campus after a nail biting win over kansas earning them a trip to the final four in houston. >> oh, my god i was physically ill. you know, it was amazing. there is just so much fun. >> reporter: coach jay wright says it had has been a long trip away from villanova. >> we were trying up on lancaster avenue and we said it is so nice to be home. >> reporter: he says he knows his players will keep their focus despite the hype. >> when you get to the final four it is off the charts. thank god we were there once before so we had a feeling and we can hopefully help players handle it. >> reporter: many fans were supporting their nova gear and holding signs but some were in their sunday besting having just left easter mass. >> we're going to din they are evening. we have nothing on the schedule for this afternoon. we thought we would pop down and cheer on the cats.

in cinnaminson, hundreds bundled up a begins the morning chill to take services right there for easter morning services this service takes place at lake view memorial park. >> ♪ >> and the action cam in center city as dozens gathered for a sunrise service this one was organized by penn presbyterian church at rittenhouse square. families prayed and sang songs outdoors as they reflect on the meaning of easter, of course, day christians believe jesus christ rose from the dead. passers by were welcomed to join in. and the faithful also came together at cathedral basilica of saints peter and paul in center city for easter sunday mass. after sunday services it was time for brunch or a parade or any other place to show off your easter best. amazing cloudy but rain held off making it a perfect day for families to get outside and spend the holidays together. it was a bunny bonanza, topping hairs kicked off the philadelphia easter promenade donning fun the at henry david returned as mc. >> chance to dress up and the kid, little kid, that is the best. >> reporter: as free band played marchers bunny hopped down south street and even caught a bouncing mayor jim kenney. "action news" anchor alycia vitarelli and her daughter donned their finest along with hundreds of families for their event this year. >> weather is just so beautiful. i'm happy to be outside with my husband and daughter enjoying the holidays. >> reporter: from an old tradition to a new tradition, the bunny express rolled into new hope bucks county for the first time to today. families sported a vintage train with the guest conductor the easter bunny himself who passed out streets. meanwhile in new castle delaware parents and their

well crested little ones participated in a easter parade on the green, some tikes were flannel, other a little frill and even fur. although it was chilly the boardwalk in ocean city new jersey was packed on this easter, families enjoying time together, a bit of ice cream and half priced tickets. >> we usually come every easter, make it an annual trip to ride some rides and get some tics for the season and walk the boardwalk. >> reporter: what is easter without a easter bonnet the? this "action news" fan may be wearing our favorite. >> ocean city is really fun because now they will have a new roller coaster. it is more fun. even better on easter. the it is nice to be here with my family and cousins. >> reporter: and back how the here live, we have seen some folks around here going for a nice evening stroll. if anything like me they need to work off mom's delicious easter ham. live at rittenhouse square, jeff chirico for channel six "action news". >> thanks, jeff.

it wasn't the best easter sunday weather we haver had but far from the worse. rain held off with a few peaks of sunshine. meteorologist melissa magee has our first check of the a accu weather easter sunday forecast, melissa. >> certainly no complaints on this easter sunday because for the majority of the day we have stayed dry. we did have a fair amount of cloud cover across the region. the currently in philadelphia coming in at 56, same thing in allentown, wide range in temperatures, notice at the coast it the is cooler, 47 in cape may. 46 degrees in beach haven. the reason why it the is cooler is because we are dealing with the easterly wind. here's satellite six with action radar we have got that easterly component to our wind. we did have a few sun breaks earlier today but clouds are starting to build in a thicken across the region and i wouldn't be surprised with spotty drizzle or sprinkle especially across coastal sections of new jersey with that easterly direction. the couple changes for the workweek. here's storm tracker six live double scan radar. flights a frontal boundary with an area have low pressure

police are investigating a double stabbing that occurred this afternoon in west philadelphia a it happened at about 1:30 on the 800 block of north fouler street when police got there they found a 44 year-old woman and a 13 year-old boy with multiple stab wound. they were both taken to the hospital in stable condition and we're told an arrest has been made and police tell us that the suspect is the husband and father of the two victims. fire fighters and police were called to an apartment early this morning in philadelphia after a carbon monoxide alarm went off. it happened on the 200 block of chestnut street, shortly after 1:00 o'clock inside an apartment over a bar and restaurant. authorities say a faulty exhaust pipe inside a heater in the basement have of one of those buildings was the source. the businesses and restaurants were evacuated and shut down right away. we're told they will reopen once the heater is properly repaired. a taliban splinter group

is claiming responsibility for a deadly bombing in pakistan. leaders of the group say it was designed to target christians celebrating easter. bomb ripped through a pack park in the city of lahore, killing at least 65 people. pakistani police say more than 300 others were injured, including many children. the u.s. condemned the attack with leaders of the pakistan, and u.s. national security spokesperson called it a cowardly act targeting innocent families. more than 300 people clashed with police after rally with anything central brussels where a shrine has been made for victims of the tuesday's attacks. crowd threw chairs and trash cans at police, police responded with water cannons. officials say it proved to be a daunting task for police because there was so many families at the memorial paying tribute to the victims. ten people were arrested and two police officers were injured. world news sunday will have much more from belgium as well as pakistan coming up at 6:30 right here after "action

time for a final check of the accu weather forecast with meteorologist melissa magee. not too bad this coming week. >> certainly in the bad today. we had a few more cloud moving in for easter sunday. clouds are thickening up because we are tracking rain during overnight hours. we will go over details. the here's storm tracker six live double scan radar no issues with precipitation but we are dealing with the easterly win. i would be surprised here at the coast you are picking up a couple showers, maybe spotty sprinkles, thanks to that easterly wind off the atlantic. more in a moment. outside we will action cam was outside earlier today, gorgeous shot looking at cherry blossoms, on this sunday evening, and keep in mind if you are suffering from allergies, the pollen counties definitely on the medium to high side. we will get some relief overnight as that moisture moves in. high today in philadelphia, despite the cloud moving in

today, in at 63 degrees, above the average and record for this date is 83 setback in 1921. gives you an indication of the kind of temperature swings we can see during our spring season. a wide range in temperatures at this hour, just 40's at the coast thanks to the easterly wind but 56 in philadelphia. fifty-six as well in reading. down in dover, 59, and holding at 50 there in millville. here's satellite six with action radar a couple features we are tracking for you. it is mostly cloud a a cross the region there is an area of low pressure off the coast of the carolinas working its way to the north and east. then when we have disturb weather out across great lakes from chicago down to st. louis, so these two systems will eventually combine and be a big storm over nova scotia as we get into tuesday but what we're focusing on is a system out west working its way eastward later tonight and into the day on monday. call from accu weather tonight is mostly cloudy. areas of patchy fog with that east northeasterly win.

rain and drizzle will move in during the overnight hours. we will drop down to 42 in the suburbs and 47 into philadelphia. future tracker six showing you 6:00 in the morning it is mostly cloudy. we have light rain and drizzlal cross the region but it looks like bulk of the heavy precipitation will move off to the north of philadelphia as we go throughout the morning hours. and 10:30 in the morning there could be a left over shower mainly north of philadelphia, wouldn't be surprised if we had an instability shower popping up in the afternoon but overall clouds, monday and breaking for some sunshine as we get into monday evening. so here's set up on our monday. we're track ago this early rain high temperature of 66 degrees. the not a whole lot, of precipitation. a tenth of an inch to a third of an inch of precipitation on the the way. the as we get into tuesday, we have area of low pressure departing. high pressure wants to work eastward. so by tuesday it will be a cooler day in at 57 degrees and we have northwesterly winds as a wind tunnel effect setting up across delaware and lehigh valleys.
