we've made it to monday. i'm kendis gibson. >> and i'm reena ninan. we're going to begin with the deadly easter suicide attack in pakistan in a park in the city of lahore. it was crowded with christians celebrating the holidays. >> a pakistani faction of the taliban has claimed responsibility. this morning at least 65 people are dead in this attack, many of them we're told children. more than 300 others were injured. schools and businesses in the city are closed today as investigators begin their work. >> we are very, very sad and feeling so upset because it's a day of our worship. as the a day of our believe festival and they have attacked on the innocent people. >> officials have no knowledge of a specific threat against the park before the attack. many of the wounded are in critical condition. so citizens there are being asked to donate blood. now to brussels where the structure of the airport that was damaged in last week's bombing has been declared

stable. the airport isn't expected to reopen before tomorrow at earliest. there have been violent clashes in center the of brussels, anger at those responsible for the attacks boiling over. abc's alex marquardt reports. >> reporter: the quiet of easter sunday broken as hundreds of far-right, flag-waving soccer hooligans descended on the memorial site in downtown brussels. >> we're fed up. we're all fed up. it's enough. enough is enough. >> reporter: chanting against isis. a peace rally scheduled for the same time had been cancelled, the police spread too thin. instead, riot police had to deal with the aggressive crowd. this mood that was so somber for the past few days has now been completely shattered. there's a lot more anger and division, these hooligans, as they call themselves, many of them skinheads and masked, saying that the people who have come here in peace simply don't understand. >> everyone that's not belgian, because this is belgium, if you don't want to live like us, go. >> reporter: with sound grenades and water cannon, the hooligans

were pushed back, throwing rocks and bottles, and breaking shop windows. the racially-charged anger, directed at resident muslims in the wake of last week's isis-linked attacks. now, the international manhunt intensifying. the italian authority z arresting a man who they say forged documents for the paris and brussels attackers. in holland, a frenchman arrested for planning an attack. and across belgium, nine were deaned in more than a dozen raids. abc news has also learned that the one brussels attack suspect in custody faycal chef shoe had been detained for trying to recruit refugees for jihad. many questions still remain. who is the attacker in the hat from the airport? and who was the man at the metro station who fled? this weekend, answers for one american family. justin and stephanie shults from kentucky, unaccounted for all week, confirmed dead in the airport attack. president obama called the shultses to offer his condolences.

enquirer" story cruz had extramarital affairs. the democrat in a clean sweep for bernie sanders picking up wins in three states. the race is still heavily in hillary clinton's favor with sanders trailing in the delegate count. he says he's come a long way and not backing down. with more, here's abc's cecile la vega. >> reporter: it was a bernie sanders blowout. and before a crowd of thousands he got to deliver the news himself. >> are you ready for a news alert? we just won the state of washington. victory steeper than ever. he would need to win 73% of the remaining delegates to clinch the nomination. sanders insisting on "this week" he can still win. >> we have come a long, long way. you will have to concede, in the last ten months. we do have a path toward victory. >> reporter: cecilia vega, abc news, new york. former moils governor rod blagojevich could soon learn whether the supreme court will hear an appeal on his conviction. he had five of his 18 convictions thrown out in 2015 of july. blagojevich has asked the court to overturn the remaining ones. he's currently serving a 14-year sentence. >> a deal to raise the minimum wage in california to $15 an hour could be announced as early as today. if approved by the legislature, the wage would gradually increase over next six years. small businesses would be given an extra year to comply. california would become the first state to doesn't the $15 minimum wage.

york. so residents along one street north of tampa, florida, say they are living in fear because of hawks. it's the second year in a row that hawks have come to nest on renowned way in the community of spring hill. the residents say the animals are making going outside dangerous by dive bombing them. some of the elderly are taking drastic measures to stay safe. >> one of the gentleman is 88 years old. and he's been hit so hard, he had to go to the hospital, get a tetanus shot. now he wears a pith helmet just to get to his mailbox and back inside his house. >> it seems the birds are going to be around for a while. wildlife officials don't remove the parent hawks till their eggs hatch and their young mature. till then, there's very little that can be done. >> don't separate those babies from their mamas. >> what state was that. >> come on. you're not going to do that. pick on me now. >> was it florida?

>> rocky was an online celebrity even before crossing the tarmac for a flight home from germany, the last leg of a rough journey that began back in december in afghanistan when rocky was brought in wounded after he and his handler specialist andrew brown were both caught in an explosion. brown was awarded a purple heart and he gave one to rocky and this had spread all over social media. >> got to have 100% trust in your dog. that's the number one thing. >> in time brown came back to the u.s. to continue his recovery. >> doing good. >> but rocky has been in germany undergoing repeated surgeries to his pelvis and physiotherapy to see how much use of his left rear leg he can get back. 4,000 hours has gone into good-bying rocky a comeback. justified? >> he's an asset as a military working dog who's capable and comfortable and skilled at doing his job. >> reporter: it was hard to say good-bye in germany but here is the hello again at the other end for specialist brown.

good morning. i'm reena ninan. >> and i'm kendis gibson. here are some of the top headlines we're following this morning on "world news now." hundreds of right wing extremists spent their easter in brussels demonstrating against muslims who they blame for last week's attacks. police eventually used water cannons to disburse them. several demonstrators were arrested. full details ahead. >> two people facing manslaughter charges after a little girl was killed while in a bouncy castle in britain. it was lifted up by a sudden gust of wind causing her death. >> former illinois governor rob blagojevich could soon weather the supreme court will hear an appeal on his conviction of corruption charges. he's currently serving a 14-year sentence. >> a beauty queen from rhode island has been stripped of her most recent title. the reasons?

pageant officials say her college work is getting in the way of her performing her duties. those are some of our top stories on this monday, march 28th. >> announcer: from abc news, this is "world news now." good monday morning, everyone. we're going to start this half hour with some ugly scenes that played out over the weekend in the aftermath of the terror attacks in brussels. the peaceful square where last week's victims were being honored, the scene of a loud demonstration by far right extremists. >> they blame muslims for the attack. abc's aaron katersky has the latest. >> the chaos broke out early in brussels when nationalist protests descended on the square where belgians have been pledging solidarity and mourning victims of the attacks. demonstrators tried to change the tone chanting against immigrants and muslims and giving nazi i salutes. police fired water cannons to clear them from the plaza. the protests briefly interrupted

the serenity of easter a respite from what the archbishop called the use less suffering caused by terrorism. pope francis denounced violence he called blind and brutal saying peace would triumph over evil. elsewhere in italy, police arrested a man accused of supplying the brussels attackers with fake documents while belgian police conducted new searches and four people were held for questioning. prosecutors charged this man shot by police last week as a sat at a trolley stop with taking part in terror activities. most of the victims of tuesday's attacks have now been identified. including stephanie and justin shults of kentucky who had been unaccounted for until this weekend. >> it just turned my heart out of my chest. i just miss seeing his beautiful smile. police and soldiers are now a constant presence. the belgians admitted to neglecting security in the past, leaving the country vulnerable

to terrorism. aaron katersky, abc news, brussels. >> and speaking of terrorism, schools and businesses in the city of lahore, pakistan, are closed today following a deadly suicide bomb attack. it happened in a park that was crowded with christians celebrating easter. a pakistani faction of the taliban claimed responsibility. we're told at least 65 people were killed many of them children. more than 300 others injured. many of the critical, many of them are in critical condition this morning. so citizens there being asked to donate blood. two arrests have been made after a 7-year-old girl died while using a bouncy castle at an easter fair near london. the girl died after the castle was lifted up by a gust of wind. she was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital by air ambulance but pronounced dead later. police said a man and a woman from a boupsy castle firm have been arrested on suspicion of man slaughter. >> the race for the white house, the candidates are looking ahead to their next big contest. crisscrossing the battleground

state of wisconsin today as donald trump continues to feud with ted cruz. he's drawing attention with explosive new comments about the safety of americans. we get the latest from abc's devin dwyer. >> reporter: with europe gripped by fear of terror, donald trump says americans should be alarmed. >> i don't think america is a safe place for americans, if you want to know the truth. and let me tell you something, we're going to have problems just as big or bigger than they've got. >> reporter: trump injecting fresh fear into a campaign already dominated by it. claiming he's the only candidate with the foresight to keep americans safe. hellhole, and then all of a sudden it came out the attack took place in brussels. i understand what's going on around the world far better than these politicians do. >> his lack of understanding on foreign policy, his lack of ability and readiness to protect this country was evident, so donald did what he always does. he tried to find a way to change the subject. >> reporter: senator ted cruz doubling down on the charge that trump engaged in a "tabloid smear" allegedly planting a national enquirer

story citing rumors that cruz engaged in multiple marital infidelities, which cruz denies. >> the national enquirer has endorsed donald trump for president. the article quotes roger stone who organized and planned donald trump's presidential campaign. >> reporter: stone told abc news he wasn't the source of the story but is quoted saying the story would hurt cruz with evangelical voters. trump again insists he's not behind it either. >> i had nothing to do with it. the campaign had absolutely nothing to do with it. he's got a problem with the national enquirer. i have no control over the national enquirer. i didn't even know about the story. >> trump and cruz will both campaign this week in wisconsin, a big state up for grabs. 42 delegates, winner take all. if cruz can beat trump in wisconsin and makes a contested republican convention this summer that much more likely. devin device, abc news, washington. and one more political note. donald trump is threatening to sue the republican party in a battle over the way delegates are being awarded in the state of louisiana.

trump won than state by four points but ted cruz could end up with more delegates. trump and cruz were initially awarded 18 delegates apiece. since marco rubio dropped out, there's word his five delegates will likely go to cruz as well as five other delegates that are still up for grabs. >> that's a lot of math. >> yeah. they're all figuring it out though. >> police in tampa are looking for a group of car thieves seen on videotape stealing eight cars. as the tape shows they don't appear to be seasoned criminals. here's abc's lauren lyster. >> a man hunt for a group of suspected teenage thieves in the midst of a brazen and sometimes bunglingburg two of them enter through a window. police say the one in the bottom corner finding a box with the box with all the keys on the lot. several more scurry to match the
