cameras shake in the high wind. high wind warning is in effect. it has caused problems overnight. good morning to you, no one nydia han is off, i'm gray hall. chris sowers has the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, wind rain lightning. >> reporter: in the span of 6 hours we've seen lightning strikes, heavy downpours, hail and snow showers and bitter windchills. you have a lot of to work with. >> reporter: what a 6 hour stretch this has been. gusty winds woke me up around midnight last night. we had gusts as high as 60 miles per hour. an unofficial report came out of dennis township in cape may county 71 miles per hour created damage down there. i will get into the damage reports in the next 15 minutes or so. in the meantime let's flip it over to the high-wind warning that will continue until noon for the entire viewing area for the delaware and the lehigh valleys, we'll see the strong

gusty winds they will diminish a bit as the go to into the second half of the day. it will be windy this morning and by afternoon, but not as intense. there is the system that came through in the overnight hours and produced damage in west chester and delaware bay region, as well. now we have rain and snow showers out there. the big story is windy. we're gusting to 38 miles per hour in cape may. 35 in millville. 50 in reading. all that wind is ushering in the colder air. it's 35 in allentown. 40 in philadelphia. 40 in millville. 39 in trenton and 43 in cape may. of course you factor in the wind feels like the 20s out there this morning. so we were 80 degrees on friday, now it feels like the 20s right now. make sure you bundle up first thing this morning we see a combination of sun and clouds today temperatures climbing through the 40s that's about it. 45 degrees by 3:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m., 47, windy and chilly

national championship that happens tomorrow night. right now we want to take you live to the campus of villanova. it is quiet of course right now, but that was not the case when the cats ran away with the big win last night. trish hartman is live on campus and we'll get a live look at the pandemonium. ducis rogers has the update on the the beat down. >> reporter: this was a one sided game you could get. in the end, villanova beat oklahoma to secure their place in the national championship game. the cats came out nervous in houston. first half, josh hart near perfect. 23 points in all, nova up 34-21. second half more of the same. bridges querlts -- converts, 49.

on a windy sunday morning meteorologist chris sowers will update you on the windy cold

rainy forecast in just a bit. video from collingswood shows the aftermath of strong wind overnight. the winds knocked over several trees on park avenue in lake view drive. the homes there appear to have been spared. and clap of thunder probably started people from their sleep overnight. the wind gust pushed a shopping cart during the downpour at cherry hill mall. the geese waddled along but happy with the water courtesy of mother nature. we've had a lot of weather in the last several hours. >> reporter: i sleep with two fans on even in the winter. the thunder was so loud and the lightning had things rattling.

we had gusts up to 60 miles per hour. that's created quite a bit of damage. as we look live in atlantic city, the winds are whipping around pretty good. the heavy rains have pushed out to sea. the temperatures have dropped off enough to produce snow showers north and west of philadelphia. it's really not mounting to all that much. but just the idea of seeing wet snowflakes is mind boggling considering we were at 80 degrees friday afternoon. wrights town, 60 miles per hour. philadelphia, 59. wilmington, 59. atlantic city, 48 miles per hour. pilots and reading 40 to 45 miles per hour. here's a look at the damage that took place overnight around midnight in dennisville, cape may county, new jersey, they had an unofficial report of a 71-mile an hour wind gust three miles shy of hurricane force winds it flipped a camper over and took off shingles on some of

now, 6:42. about 40 degrees outside right now. you can see the live look sky6 live hd overlooking atlantic city camera shaking the wind has been awhipping and awailing all night long. damage in cape may county, new jersey, camper flipped over, shingles off houses. meteorologist chris sowers has been tracking this since yesterday. so you should not be surprised by the weather. it was a whacky and intense night. >> reporter: we had damage in shiloh, upper deer field and newport township. delaware, damage reported, as well. the storm was whipping as it blew through the delaware and lehigh valleys last night. fortunately the thunderstorms have blown through. they are out to sea, now we're seeing clearing conditions, the winds roar out of the west/northwest anywhere from 25 to 30 miles per hour sustained or constant.

every now and then we get a wind gust 50 to 60 miles per hour. double scan live, we watched snow showers through south jersey and northwestern suburbs, as well. over the past couple of hours, a tremendous change in the weather over the last 24 to 48 hours, 80 degrees i can't believe it's 80 degrees friday afternoon, shooting for a high of 47 degrees today with windchills stuck in the 30s just about all afternoon. windchills in the 20s right now. yesterday's high, 65 degrees. present temperature reading in philadelphia, 39. dewpoint, is a. pressure reading 29.62 inches. the winds are humming, 26 miles per hour gusts in the 40s. ocean temperature, 49. 48 in reading, 44 in lancaster. 44 in wilmington, allentown, 43-mile an hour wind gusts. poconos 50-plus, 38 in philadelphia. and trenton 38 miles per hour. i showed this a ton yesterday, i'm going to show it again.

in the next couple of hours we expect the strongest winds. wind speeds 25 to 35 miles per hour gusts as high as 60 miles per hour. traveling will be difficult around the delaware and lehigh valleys especially on north/south oriented roads because of the tremendous cross winds that are developing. keep both hands on the steering wheels. on the secondary roads people have been telling they are dodging debris everywhere. look out for debris as the winds w4eu7 around and blow -- whip around and blow everything all over the place. there's the area of low pressure it's up in new england. boston moderate snow and lake effect coming in over lakes erie and ontario.

and remembrance walk in fairmont park have been canceled. it raises awareness for colon cancer. organizers have not announced when they rescheduled. we'll keep you posted. firefighters battling this fire at a church in cumberland county millville, new jersey, high winds are making i felt difficult for firefighters battling the church fire. flames coming from the top of the church this is at the intersection of route 49 and pearl street. it started at 5:30, the mount pleasant united methodist church. the steeple on the church has collapsed. but this is an intense scene, crews on the scene fighting the fire. again, winds has been hampering their efforts there. so far no word about any injuries, but this quickly struck into a second alarm

tell you about this fire, firefighters said heavy winds caused trees to fall or power lines there. this is the mount pleasant united methodist church intersection of route 49 and pearl street in cumberland county. it started at 5:30, the heavy wind have been give firefighters difficult time. this is an active scene. firefighters quickly struck a second alarm to help fight the church fire. you can see there the flames we were talking about. we are told that the steeple on the church collapsed because of the fire. we've been following this for sometime now. so far no reports of injuries. high winds hampering the efforts of the firefighters and high winds caused trees to fall into some power lines which likely caused the fire. we'll track this all morning and bring you updates as they come into the newsroom. a pleasant good morning to you, nydia han off this morning,
