tell you about this fire, firefighters said heavy winds caused trees to fall or power lines there. this is the mount pleasant united methodist church intersection of route 49 and pearl street in cumberland county. it started at 5:30, the heavy wind have been give firefighters difficult time. this is an active scene. firefighters quickly struck a second alarm to help fight the church fire. you can see there the flames we were talking about. we are told that the steeple on the church collapsed because of the fire. we've been following this for sometime now. so far no reports of injuries. high winds hampering the efforts of the firefighters and high winds caused trees to fall into some power lines which likely caused the fire. we'll track this all morning and bring you updates as they come into the newsroom. a pleasant good morning to you, nydia han off this morning,

meteorologist chris sowers outside tracking the accuweather forecast. chris i can see it's windy. >> reporter: can you hear that? the winds are roaring this morning. 50 to off miles per hour gusts reported throughout the -- 50 to 60 miles per hour gusts reported throughout the delaware valley. thisdouble scan live this is the current view on the radar. we have rain showers and spritzes and sprinkles reported across south jersey. i want to take it back to 11:00 p.m., this is what double scan looked like. this is the line of showers and thunderstorms that ripped through here. you can see the reds and oranges. this line produced all kinds of damage across south jersey and delaware. nearly 1,000 strikes alone reported in cumberland county. look at the upper left-hand side of the screen. you see the counter the lightning box there, those were taken in 15 minute increments. there were over one thousand lightning strikes. here's a look at the damage that

was reported in georgetown, delaware, trees reported stuck in-houses from the winds. mobile homes flipped over and tractor-trailer was flipped over. i was reading the statements coming out of the storm prediction center. a lot of damage sounds tornadic. it sounds severe and extensive. in cape may county, dennisville gusts up to 71 miles per hour. a camper was flipped over and shingles were blown off the homes. winds are whipping. 4 is miles per hour in philadelphia. 43 in reading. 50 in lancaster. 52 in atlantic city and cape may 47 miles per hour. forecast for today, temperatures pulling out of the 30s, eventually into the 40s look for a combination of sun and clouds. windy and chilly. with a high of 47 degrees.

your time 7:03. turning to villanova victory in houston, texas. villanova faithful and new fans cheered as the wildcats ran away with a historic blowout win over oklahoma. the cats have a shot to win the national championship in the big game. it happens tomorrow night. lbd so glad you stayed with us. a one person is dead after a small plane crashed on a busy highway in southern california. cell phone video shows the frantic moments as firefighters and volunteers tried to rescue the people inside the crash. it skidded 250 feet and it slammed into a nissan that was stopped on the shoulder. a person in the back seat was killed. the plane was made from a can it from a former owen yankees -- owner, yankees catcher who made an emergency landing on the same

the winds continue to haul. the highest report of wind gusts it's an unofficial report 71 miles per hour three miles per hour shy of hurricane-force wind speeds in dennisville township in cape may county. that was earlier this morning. we've seen 50 and 60s over the last couple of hours, a tremendous amount of wind. we saw snow showers first thing this morning. we we went from 80 degrees fridy to thunderstorms last night and windchills in the teens and 20s. what a dramatic change. saturday's high, 65. today we're shooting for 47. at whichit will be a struggle th that mark. most of the time we're hovering around 44, 45. 17 degrees in lancaster. reading, 19. look at the poconos. feels like 7 in the mountains. 20 in allentown. 26 for philadelphia. millville. 23 in trenton. feels like 30 degrees in

wildwood. winds continue out of the west/northwest these are gusts. 43 in reading. lancaster, closing in on 50. 52 in atlantic city. trenton, 46. cape may, 40 miles per hour. over the next couple of hours with the strong gusty winds in a west/northwesterly direction, i can't stress this enough, traveling westbound difficult. in particular it's roads that run from north to south because of the cross wind that's dropping. it will knock your cars all over the place. bridges and over passes take it slow out there. gusts 50 to 60 miles per hour. there's a lot of down trees and power lines that are down and numerous power outages that are reported. cumberland, county, cape may county, south jersey, extensive wind damage with the storms that pulled through. georgetown, sussex county delaware, we have damage that could tornadic in nature. we had a tractor-trailer that

was flipped over down there, as well. this is the system that produced the wind. heavy snow is flying for the system we're starting to clear on the backside, it was a rough time of it last last night as te thing swept through. it's 10, 20% of the country that's seeing the crazy weather. the second clipper we're watching is this right here, it is not as impressive as the first one that pulled through last night. that will reinforce the wind tomorrow night into tuesday morning. 0 we'll see nothing we're experiences right now. combination of sun and clouds, mainly cloudy overnight tonight. here comes the second system, monday morning snow is flying north and west, this is well north and west, upstate new york, scranton, wilks-berry area. whatever moisture we see will fall in the form.

tell you about this morning. you have to take a look at this, a devastating scene philadelphia firefighters and police officers were called out to the five thousand block of warrington avenue shortly after 6:00 a.m. after a building collapsed injuring a man. this is a hard scene to look at. you can see portions of the building on the screen. the incident involved the buildings 5015 to 5025. a partial collapse of a building that sent a bricks and mortar hit the car occupied by a man. police have closed off the street. firefighters are checking the collapsed building for anyone inside. hopefully no one is inside the build. medics transported the man with
