the record low 24, not a record but 29 degrees is 12 degrees below average. this is the coldest april temperature here in 19 years. it's rare to get that cold in april. we warmed up into the 50s in the afternoon and sunshine with the winds out of the south and 53 in philadelphia, it's bearable. allentown and wilmington 51 and reading and trenton currently 52. satellite 6 along with action radar showing we are beginning to see high, thin clouds moving in from the west. all ahead of a cold front that stretches from the great lakes to the tennessee valley. this is pushing through as we head through the day tomorrow. that means temperatures are milder, back in the 60s but we are dealing with some rain. future tracker showing 11:00 tonight clouds beginning to thicken especially out to the west. temperatures are in the 40s and temperatures actually will be rising in the overnight hours.

the combination of cloud cover and southerly winds, 55 degrees and showers in the western suburbs and it looks like most of the showers will hold off until after the morning commute but then things get really wet in the afternoon around 1:30, some heavy rain is rolling through and perhaps some thunderstorms, into the evening rush hour a few spotty showers and then we have another secondary piece of energy rolling through in the evening hours, at 8:00 could have a few more thunderstorms before we begin to dry out later on thursday night. and future tracker 6 showing we are looking at a pretty good soaking of rain and generally .75 inch of rain to about an inch, and it's going to be a wet day. don't forget the umbrella. the five-day at 5:00, periods of rain and perhaps a thunderstorm, 63 degrees, behind the system on friday it's breezy and cool and dry for the villanova victory parade. 54 degrees and dry for the union game friday night saturday show.

worker near old shady side road and both collars were missing. gray hall is live now with this unfolding. >> reporter: hi monica. as you can imagine this is a heart breaking time for the family, not only have they lost two pets, they lost two members of their family, it started when the dogs ran away like they did before but this time they did not make it home. >> margaret christie is talking about the devastating loss of her two dogs. buddha ran away from home last wednesday and oliver disappeared while they were searching for them. both were found and shot once and their collars missing and their bodies dumbed in a creek. >> when you lose a pet maybe you give it up to cars maybe but you

don't think about deliberate intentional harm. >> the family says hours after the dogs disappeared they made flyers and less than 24 hours later they got the heart breaking news from a worker in the area who found the lifeless animals. >> i have news but i don't think it's good. >> poor guy had to deliver the news that he had seen -- seen their bodies. >> the brandywine law enforcement unit is working the case but admit they have no leads, but workers say cameras in the wooded area where the dogs were dumped could help. >> we are waiting to hear back if we can have access to the film. >> while investigators work down to find out who is respond for this animal cruelty a family is left with unanswered questions, but the big one is why. she knows an arrest will not

lets head back out to ableage live at lost river cavern. >> reporter: yes we are outside but way underground by 150 feet. this particular cave also known as a cavern was accidentally discovered back in 1883 when they were blasting in the area. known as a limestone quarry. this is an active limestone cave. when you take a tour, it's over a quarter mile deep. and you get to see all the different minerals you see under
