important to the black voters community. but even though sanders sees philadelphia crucial to his campaign he has to overcome party leader that have already endorsed hillary clinton. he has two events leading into the pennsylvania primary. at temple he schedule aid victory rally later tonight there are long lines ready to go in at 8:00. he is still 370 points behind hillary clinton. but he says he is now gaining momentum. momentum is in the last couple of weeks, there are national polls that have us one point up or one point down. may be over but the party for the villanova wildcats is not done yet. it was back to school after a long weekend. the action cam was at villanova for what many described address a normal wednesday. after the big victory in houston monday night. according to tour guides there is an influx of interest in the school and they are getting plenty of questions about basketball. >> they definitely have questions about things like that, they want to know about the team. it's very exciting to share that they are now touring a school that has won a national championship. >> meanwhile "action news" caught up with the team on campus as the national championship win continues to sink in. and coach jay wright took a very important phone call. jaime apody is live with that part of the story tonight. >> reporter: i called him. i did. it was me.

no, just kidding. josh hart told us they are a bunch of ordinary guys that did an extraordinary thing. sure. the championship villanova wildcats met with us for one last time before the big parade. a lot of them went back to class today among them kris jenkins and they got a standing ovation from their classmates and teacher. and jay wright's cell phone rang and on the other end was president barack obama calling to give his congratulations and he had a lot of fun things to say to jay. here is a little bit of what mr. president said to our villanova basketball coach. >> the reason it was a great game because carolina did not give it away and they played great and you played great. i was rooting for villanova --

was back out on the job. the white house has given in to the republican battle to fund the zika virus. another showdown is still underway and reporter and registered nurse, ali gorman is here to explain. >> reporter: redirecting the money is a bit controversial when some lawmakers first proposed this, some were against it. they wanted to keep the ebola money there but now just under $600 million from the ebola fund will be used to battle the zika virus in puerto rico and if it moves to the united states. and most goes to research to develop the vaccine and control the mosquitos, president obama requested $1.9 billion to fund zika. and they say the full amount is still needed as we learn more about the virus including the rate of sexual transmission and

time for accuweather at the "action news" big board. cecily tynan is here to tell united states about the chill out. >> a nice recovery today after a cold start to the morning. sky 6 hd taking a look at atlantic city where it's sunny and sky 6 is shaking with the winds. we have winds out of the south and that will pull up milder air and this morning it was cold and the atlantic city airport dropping all the way down to 22 degrees, a record low for the atlantic city airport. allentown close to the record dropped down to 28 degrees, wilmington 29 and philadelphia we dropped down to 29 degrees.

the record low 24, not a record but 29 degrees is 12 degrees below average. this is the coldest april temperature here in 19 years. it's rare to get that cold in april. we warmed up into the 50s in the afternoon and sunshine with the winds out of the south and 53 in philadelphia, it's bearable. allentown and wilmington 51 and reading and trenton currently 52. satellite 6 along with action radar showing we are beginning to see high, thin clouds moving in from the west. all ahead of a cold front that stretches from the great lakes to the tennessee valley. this is pushing through as we head through the day tomorrow. that means temperatures are milder, back in the 60s but we are dealing with some rain. future tracker showing 11:00 tonight clouds beginning to thicken especially out to the west. temperatures are in the 40s and temperatures actually will be rising in the overnight hours.

the combination of cloud cover and southerly winds, 55 degrees and showers in the western suburbs and it looks like most of the showers will hold off until after the morning commute but then things get really wet in the afternoon around 1:30, some heavy rain is rolling through and perhaps some thunderstorms, into the evening rush hour a few spotty showers and then we have another secondary piece of energy rolling through in the evening hours, at 8:00 could have a few more thunderstorms before we begin to dry out later on thursday night. and future tracker 6 showing we are looking at a pretty good soaking of rain and generally .75 inch of rain to about an inch, and it's going to be a wet day. don't forget the umbrella. the five-day at 5:00, periods of rain and perhaps a thunderstorm, 63 degrees, behind the system on friday it's breezy and cool and dry for the villanova victory parade. 54 degrees and dry for the union game friday night saturday show.

43 degrees and rain or snow showers, 48 on sunday and monday we bump it up to 59 degrees and increasing clouds for the phillies home opener. special day today the first outdoor adventure with adam joseph he is actually inside at the lost river canyons. you should have worn a tux. >> in this particular room, which is called the crystal ballroom, this is where they used to hold dance parties and wedding in the 1940s. this cave was accidentally discovered in 1883 and 1929 the gilman family purchased it and opened it to the public and explored a quarter mile into the cave. check out this room, one feature is the frozen water fall of all different kinds of minerals.

"action news" continues with adam joseph, jaime apody and rick williams. here is what is happening wednesday night. a heart break, mystery after dogs were found dead and stripped of their identification collars. and a man walking home at a local eatery ends up at the hospital with a gunshot wound. and the national champion villanova wildcats are getting ready for a big celebration. jaime apody is live with more. and a family is mourning the loss of two beloved pets found shot near their home. the bodies were found by a

worker near old shady side road and both collars were missing. gray hall is live now with this unfolding. >> reporter: hi monica. as you can imagine this is a heart breaking time for the family, not only have they lost two pets, they lost two members of their family, it started when the dogs ran away like they did before but this time they did not make it home. >> margaret christie is talking about the devastating loss of her two dogs. buddha ran away from home last wednesday and oliver disappeared while they were searching for them. both were found and shot once and their collars missing and their bodies dumbed in a creek. >> when you lose a pet maybe you give it up to cars maybe but you

don't think about deliberate intentional harm. >> the family says hours after the dogs disappeared they made flyers and less than 24 hours later they got the heart breaking news from a worker in the area who found the lifeless animals. >> i have news but i don't think it's good. >> poor guy had to deliver the news that he had seen -- seen their bodies. >> the brandywine law enforcement unit is working the case but admit they have no leads, but workers say cameras in the wooded area where the dogs were dumped could help. >> we are waiting to hear back if we can have access to the film. >> while investigators work down to find out who is respond for this animal cruelty a family is left with unanswered questions, but the big one is why. she knows an arrest will not

a 5-year-old girl from ohio had her wish to see pope francis come true today. it's part of what her family calls their visual bucket list. lizzi myers suffers from a syndrome that effects your ears and eye sight. they got tickets to anywhere in the world and they chose world and got to arrange a face-to-face meeting with the pontiff. >> she bless the elizabeth's eyes and he is praying for us and asked us to pray for him.

lets head back out to ableage live at lost river cavern. >> reporter: yes we are outside but way underground by 150 feet. this particular cave also known as a cavern was accidentally discovered back in 1883 when they were blasting in the area. known as a limestone quarry. this is an active limestone cave. when you take a tour, it's over a quarter mile deep. and you get to see all the different minerals you see under
