falling, but the feel of winter is hanging around. a freeze warning is in effect. this morning police are looking for the people who robbed two 7-eleven stores in minutes overnight in philadelphia. bernie sanders is firing back at hillary clinton with a new campaign ad with spike lee.

we're beginning this april 10 with a freeze warning. watch out as you walk out, patches of black ice developed on parking lots and sidewalks. crons -- crops are in danger as temperatures hover around freezing. the cold spring has already cost some farmers. the race beginning at 8:30, it will be down right cold for the philadelphia love run half marathon. >> reporter: outside to meteorologist chris sowers you're bundled up, too, chris. >> reporter: how about three layers. that will do the trick. april 10 it was warmer on march 10th. unbelievable how chilly it is. of course with the snow just doesn't look and feel like spring around the delaware and lehigh valleys. snowfall totals let's take a

look at them, wayne, pennsylvania, 4.7. valley forge, 3 1/2. graterford, 2 inches. allentown half inch of fresh white snow. this is what it looked like in parts of the area. west of philadelphia, the big silver dollar flakes came down in clumps. this is the view in glen mills. this was sent in by dottie. all of a sudden this happened, the storm shifted to the south and we started picking up the huge white flakes in south jersey and delaware, as well. we were in the anticipating too much in the way of accumulating snow in south jersey and delaware. mullica hill, 3 inches. vineland, 2. avalon 2. ocean city not on the list picked up two inches of snow. port norris picked up # -- 3 inches of snow. haddon heights an inch of snow. upper deer field township cumberland county sent in by

cigarettes. they ran out without physically hurting anyone. action cam was at the second store, the three robbers forced the clerk to hand over the money. they drove off in a dark colored sedan. police are looking at the surveillance video to try to identify the suspects. there's investigation into a killing of a robbery suspect in olney. an off-duty police officer fired the fatal shot. viewer video shows the scene moments after the shooting on the 5700 block of park avenue. police say the suspect was trying to hold up an elderly person. investigators say the off duty officer confronted the suspect and told him to drop his weapon. that's when the suspect allegedly pointed a gun at the officer who fired a shot. there was a foot chase and police say the suspect fired at the officer, he returned fire, this time hitting the suspect who died a short time later. he said don't move, don't

move. screaming call 911. i watched him take the gun off him, he had a 32 or something. we know this morning the officer involved in this was not injured. police say the robbery victim only had minor injuries. turning to the race for president, hillary clinton is banking on new yorkers to stop bernie sanders' surge. he won seven of the last 8 state primaries. he has a new ad from spike lee to show he has support from minorities. he sees all of you, he sees us as a whole people a whole country. >> reporter: hillary clinton has dominated the minority votes so far. minority voters will make or break the candidates in new york where clinton served as senator and sanders was born. i believe is county is judged not by how many millionaires and billionaires it

we're back up to 70 degrees. so you asked me earlier is that the last from old man winter? i think so so. high winds toppled a huge tree in durham, north carolina. it landed on top of a car and injured two people inside. it brought down a live power line when it came tumbling down, both people were critically injured. storms caused flooding problems for drivers this weekend. look at this, this woman waited patiently for help after she got stuck in knee-high water. transportation workers blocked off several roads in an attempt to keep others from making the same mistake. a homeless man was injured after the water rushed beneath the bridge where he had been staying. we're back after the break.

[fireworks going off from an. -- 100 people were killed in a massive fire. the fire was started by a spark from a fireworks display that ignited a separate batch of fireworks that were stored inside the temple. the indian prime minister tweeted his condolences and plans to visit the site. we've learned this morning former new orleans saint defensive end was shot and killed after a confrontation with another driver following a traffic accident. it happened when a hummer rear ended smith's vehicle causing his car to hit another vehicle. investigators say the 34-year-old smith was shot after exchanging words with the driver of the hummer. we're told that the smith died at the scene. his wife was also shot.

she is being treated in the hospital for two bullet injuries in her right leg. the 30-year-old driver of the hummer was taken into police custody and officers say they have recovered the handgun used in the shooting. smith ranks 4th in saints history with 67 sacks. high school students who get too little sleep or too much sleep are likely to indulge in risky behavior. students who get 35 -- five or six hours a night will drink and drive. that was true for kids who got more than ten hours a night. they don't know if sleeping too much or too little is reflection of depression. a new federal study finds kids eat cake and cookies and

weather, this was the scene in elsmere, delaware, it is a months or so away to the unofficial start to summer, parts of the area getting this measurable amount of snow. it hampered kildare's in manayunk. it hurts us on a day like today. especially on saturday with lunch we rely on the foot traffic. it's a bummer last week we had 79 degrees. it was weird this morning when it happened. i was like no way. the snowflakes were huge. it kept going. it kept going and going. the snow is not coming down, but there may be slick spots out there, since temples are hover -- temperatures are hovering around freezing. a man was shot dead as he stepped outside a bar.

the 26-year-old victim walked out of the bar at 2:30 a.m. when someone outside opened fire at pointblank range wounding in the man in the chest. the man died at temple university hospital. police have not made any arrests and not indicated a motive. investigators are trying to figure out what started a deadly fire in berks county. the fire started right around 2:30 yesterday morning in old lee township. firefighters say a man died shortly after being pulled from the burning home. the victim's name was not released. an autopsy is being planned to determine the cause of death. two firefighters and local police officers were transported to hospitals for non-life threatening injuries. the republican rails for nomination is -- the republican race for nomination is turning to the primary prize. ted cruz got more delegates yesterday. he said the challenge for the

nominee to be to unite the party. when you have this kind of bloody battle everyone fears fracture at the end of it. that will be the challenge of the nominee to hold together and have unity. at the convention they will decide who can actually win in the fall and who can beat hillary and i am the only one who consistently does that. the party bosses you think they want to get skunked in their wards or neighborhoods because cruz and trump are going to get killed in the fall, they cannot win. donald trump did not speak to reporters yesterday. the new york state primary happens april 19. happening today, this is not april's fool's gag, but price of mailing a letter is going down. it's the first time the price has dropped in nearly a century.
