to meteorologist cecily tynan in for adam joseph. >> hi, brian and mon cam i came out here wearing a jacket. high to take it off because it's warmed up so nicely. take a look at the temperature. philadelphia right now, it is 67 degrees and 72, not too far to the south in washington, d.c. we've got the winds out of the south and that's pulling up the very warm air. so, compare this to yesterday. we are 18 degrees warmer in philadelphia and two days ago we were experiencing snow. so, a nice turn around. however, that being said, i am tracking another round of in. storm tracker6 double live showing that we had -- double scan live i should say we had some of those showers this morning with a warm front. that's now pushed up to the north. if you look across the ohio valley you can see that line of showers. that's a cold front that will be moving through in the morning hours tomorrow. so, tomorrow morning the morning rush hour will be wet. allow for that. but after that i'm tracking a nice sunny stretch and, yes, temperatures even in the 70's

the numbers show more americans trust clinton, the democratic frontrunner on a number of issues from healthcare to immigration and nominating supreme court justices. in the meantime, trump is back on the campaign trail today after taking a few days off. us his gop contender ted cruz accident happened up all of the delegates in colorado. they hold a convention there instead of a primary and today trump is accusing cruz's camp of "crooked shenanigans" in that fight for delegates. back to the democrats and ahead of the april 19th primary in new york, bernie sanders is hoping that a recent string of victories will bring him momentum over hillary clinton. sanders was born in brooklyn and has certainly been gaining some ground and some momentum right now. he's won seven of the last eight contests. and new york's primary should prove to be a very interesting one to watch for a number of reasons. clinton, of course, was a senator there, donald trump grew up in queens, so everyone is staking their claim to new

have risen into the upper 60's in philadelphia. 67 degrees feeling pretty nice now. trenton 67 and dover also 67. cape may 64. and the far northwestern suburbs with that cloud cover a little bit cooler, reading 58 and allentown currently 59 degrees. satellite6 along with action radar showing that we are in the warm sector of this system right now. a warm front moved through this morning. that brought us the clouds and the showers. that's now lifted up to the north but then you can see this trailing line of showers. that's a cold front and that will be moving through during the day tomorrow. the call from accuweather for tonight, we'll cloud up. the rain arrives late tonight. overnight low not that cold, 55 in philadelphia, 52 in cape may and 53 degrees in wilmington. future tracker showing the problem is the time. we are going have a wet tuesday morning commute. 5 o'clock in the morning generally light showers around philadelphia, some heavy rain across the poconos. this swings through the i-95 corridor around 8:30 but it moves pretty quickly.

so, we're looking at about a tenth to about a half inch of rain by noon it's really concentrated right along the coast and then everything clears out by tuesday around 5 o'clock. so, this is good news for the gardeners and actually good news if your are allergy sufferers. we need to get some of the pollen out of the air. trees now moderate and grass also getting into the act so it's been problems for allergy sufferers. the four day at 4:00 showing you that tomorrow we're looking at rain in the morning, sunshine by the afternoon with a high of 60 degrees. wednesday behind the cold front we're back in the sunshine but it is a little bit on the cool side with a high of 58 degrees. but look at what happens as we head toward the second half of the work week. thursday 62 degrees. friday 64. and i don't want to give it all away now but let's just say that that warmup continues right through the weekend. it's about time. >> okay. >> we'll have a nice warm sunny weekend. >> yes. >> so on the way.

"action news" reporter sarah bloomquist now live outside verizon's offices in chinatown to explain how the looming strike could impact customers across the region. sarah. >> reporter: brian, verizon employees have been working

without a contract now since august of last year. they plan to strike at 6:00 a.m. wednesday unless there is progress in the negotiations. but at this point there are no planned talks and union leaders say the two sides aren't close anyway. >> it has been stressful. >> reporter: sherri lane has been a verizon employee for 17 years. she handles government and federal accounts. wednesday morning at 6:00 a.m. she's prepared to be walking the picket lines. for her, the biggest issues in the ongoing contract negotiations are are healthcare costs and job security. >> that's the first thing. then on top of that, we don't want our jobs shipped overseas because they can ship them overseas and pay these people next to nothing. >> reporter: edward mooney is the international vice president for the communications workers of america district 213 and the verizon employee. he says the pension and healthcare costs have been on the table during talks but he sees the outsourcing of jobs such as those in there call

centers as the top issue yet to be revolved. resolved. >> they want to contract to the tune of 50 percent of the workforce going to out of state or overseas contractors. >> reporter: verizon's chief administrator officer said we tried to work with union lead stories reach a deal. verizon has been moving the bargaining process forward but now union leaders would rather make strike threats than constructively engage at the bargaining table. >> we have good middle class jobs we're not denying. but we're going to keep them that way and when you're telling us these good middle class jobs you have, we only want to you have 50 percent of what you should have, that's where we go astray. >> reporter: now t-the last verizon strike happened back in 2011 and lasted for two weeks. verizon says if workers walk off they are prepared. they have been training nonunion workers to replace the employees for the duration of the strike. union leaders say that's where customers will feel the impact when their service suffers.

live in chinatown i'm sarah bloomquist channel6 "action news." >> sarah thank you. philadelphia is mourning the loss avenue local legend today. ed snider has lost his battle with bladder cancer. snider is perhaps best known for founding the flyers but his reach in this city went way beyond professional hockey. the 83-year-old also created a youth hockey foundation and was known for his extensive philanthropy. the flyers who clinched a play spot on saturday had been using his battle with cancer as an inspiration this season. now they carry his memory forward. "action news"'s coverage of snide's life and legacy continues tonight at 5:00. >> an egg harbor township woman is facing charges she killed three people in a deadly crash. 20-year-old melissa rodriguez was behind wheel of this crushed red camry. rodriguez has been accused of crossing the center line slaming into a new jersey new jy transit bus in may of 2014. three teenagers in the car with her died. other passengers including

eight people on the bus were also injured that day. philadelphia police say two men faced off in a knife battle and they ended up wounded in the hospital. the dispute happened at ridge and cecil b. moore avenues about 4:30 this morning. police took one man to hahnemann hospital. the other was found at the scene a short time later also taken to hahnemann. no word yet what set off that fight. >> philadelphia police are looking for the man who stole two guns from someone's car. newly released video shows the thief walking up to and then rummaging through black suv there. the victim says he parked his car on the 6400 block of lansdowne avenue in west philadelphia and reported the handgun stolen from the center console. you're asked to call investigators if you recognize this man here. police are also hoping someone knows something about a big cigarette theft. three men carrying a big ladder broke into a warehouse along east hunting park avenue by fridaying open a back door. once inside, they took 24 cases of cigarettes that

67 degrees. as we head into the weekend it's going to get warm. 65 in millville, 66 in wilmington, 64 in cape may. it is cool interallentown, 59. and reading currently 58 degrees. satellite6 along with action radar showing this conveyor belt of moisture, this is a cold front that will be pushing through really during the first half of the day tomorrow. future tracker showing morning rush will be affected by this. we will have some pockets of some rain, perhaps even some steady rain around 6 o'clock in the northern suburbs and then it pushes really east of the i-95 corridor mid morning around 9 o'clock beginning to clear out in the northwest suburbs and it's a pretty quick hitting system by early in the afternoon it's pushing off shore and then even the clouds will be breaking for some sunshine as we head later in the afternoon. so, as far as the amount, if you look at the computer models, most of them showing around a tenth to a quarter inch, the outlier the nam showing about half inch of rain.
