seven-day forecast. gray. okay, chris, thank you for the update. it is 6:02. we're tracking breaking news from the overnights. police are questioning the person who shot two firefighters as they responded to a 911 call. it happened near washington, d.c. 39-year-old medic firefighter was killed. the volunteer firefighter had to have surgery because of his injuries. police say the shooter was the person they went to help. he unloaded bullets as the fighter tried to get inside. the shooter shot a neighbor who called the police officers. the neighborhood will survive. a man was shot in an alley around 1:30 a.m. in the 1200 block of morton street. the victim was rushed to cooper

university hospital in serious condition. police are looking for the shooter. an 8th grade door accused of stabbing a classmate with scissor has been charged as a juvenile. the 13-year-old girl is facing a number of charges including aggravated assault. this stems from an attack on a 14-year-old class mate inside cook elementary school wednesday morning. the victim was stabbed in the chest and arm and expected to be okay. we're told she'll be back to school on monday. lawyers for bill cosby was in court and learned that the accusers andrea confanned -- constand is entitled to the documents that were shared with bruce castor. a local woman has been infected for the zika virus a

woman in camden county tested positive from the virus. she returned from a country where the virus is present. the virus is linked to birth defects and rare neurological problems in adults. a thief targeted a home, the package was taken over the steps of a wynnfield home. the home belongs to the city's first deputy of recreation. jeff chirico has the deals. >> reporter: this crystal clear video shows the man who made off with boxes of high-priced electronic electronics on woodbine avenue. you can identify him, you could pick him out of any picture. the camera shows a delivery man dropping off two amazon boxes, a couple of hours later another

bernie sanders is heading back to the u.s. after his visit to the vatican. he said he met with pope francis before leaving rome. sanders was there to take part in a conference marking the 25th anniversary of a document issued by pope john paul on social and economic justice. sanders i should a global call to action to address a moral and unsustainable wealth of inequality and povertity. sanders released 2014 tax document. it shows that he earned $205,000 and donated 8,000 to charity. hillary clinton is looking for a win in new york and got one yesterday. she took on a group of domino players at a senior home in harlem. she promised the group that should provide more money for public housing. protesters confronted donald trump supporters in

look at the warming trend. 72 by tomorrow. monday we're in the 80s. 65, 66 is about average. we're close to where we should be now, but a big warmup on the way. coatsville, 35, saint davids, 38. warring 40, chester, 44. it's clear across south jersey, ewing, 37, browns mill 37 degrees. we're in what's called an omega block pattern. the jet stream looks like the omega. we have an area of high pressure stuck off the coast and area of high pressure stuck here and area of low pressure across the colorado rockies. the jet stream is up north, all these pressure systems can't move. they are stuck in place. if you're seeing good weather in

one part of the country you'll see it for days and days and days, if you're in a bad pattern, it will stay for days and days and days, you need something to kick start it. look at the forecasted snowfall totals out here, this bright color here is 24 to 36 inches of snow forecasted over the next 24 to 48 hours. it's the middle of april. that's something you should not see, at any point during the course of the year that kind of storm. if you're seeing a big storm like that you'll see that in january and february not april. forecast today, mid 60s. philadelphia, 66, 67. the model is showing 64. beautiful start to the weekend. sunday, bright blue skies, ton of sunshine. the model has 70, we're forecasting 74.

accuweather with a high of 67. gray? okay, chris thanks for the update. 6:32. new on "action news," a philadelphia police officer was injured in a crash while on the way to help another officer. the responding officer's cruiser slammed into a car in west philadelphia. the 16th district officer will be okay. he was taken to penn presbyterian hospital to be treated. the driver of the car was not seriously injured. the other officer who called for help was dealing with an armed man. someone shot a man 12 times outside a north philadelphia bar. the 23-year-old victim was critically injured. the shots were fired outside j and s tavern on the 2400 block of germantown avenue. detectives hope customers can shed light on who shot the man and provide a motive. there's breaking news from

the overnight coming out of maryland, a firefighter medic responding to a call has died. the second firefighter was rushed into surgery. the shooter is the person they were going to help. overnight the firefighters were identified, 39-year-old john omsnyder a father and married man died. kevin swain is listed in serious condition. the crew got a call that a person was unresponsive inside a home. as they arrived they saw the person they thought needed help. they knocked on the door and received no answer, they begin to force entry so they can render care, it was as they were forcing entry that several rounds were fired from the house through the door. again, price say the shots were fired by the person who needed help. the gunfire stopped as police

officers rushed in and arrested the shooter. police say the suspect is cooperating but the motive this morning is still not clear. the person who called 911 was shot, but not severely hurt. happening in japan, aftershock also continue to rattle the islands. search efforts continue to find more survivors. 70,000 people have left their homes. the earthquakes left behind a whole lot of damage. this is the huge crack left in the roads there. 6.5 magnitude struck yesterday and 7.5 hit today. crews are keeping an eye on mount asta that erupted at the same time of the quakes.
