they were okay, family members i knew. an other people and friends that everybody was okay. if they needed anything, i could help. three people were taken to the hospital, one was overcome by smoke. 100 firefighters worked on the fire. 8 apartment also were a total loss, red cross is helping 24 people displaced. the cause is being determined. the 6:04. philadelphia police are questioning a person of interest after the deadly shooting of a 4-year-old girl by her as i believing. sibling. the girl was shot in kensington yesterday afternoon. a 5-year-old fired the shot using the mother's boyfriend's gun. officers are not saying if the boy friend is the person they are questioning, but he did runaway from the scene after the shooting. jeff chirico will have reaction from neighbors in the next half-hour. new this morning, one person is critically injured

it until someone answered. three people were in the house they all managed to get out safely. it took 45 minutes for firefighters to gain control of the blaze. there were no injuries. red cross is finding temporary shelter for the residents. investigators are looking for the cause. if you're just waking up, heroic actions saved many people in pine hill, camden county. ems workers ran to the burning building and rescued several people. some of the residents were trapped on the balcony. mark conover was at the apartment complex when his sister and daughter saw the flames. i saw an older lady she was on the second floor. she was screaming for help. i scaled the side of the buildings and was trying to get her down, but she was

frightened, so, she was clinching the railings, so i like had to pull her arms to get her off. after i did that, i lifted her over the rail and just handed her down to the police. we learned that crews transported three people to the hospital, one with smoke inhalation. two people fell running out of the building, but they are okay this morning. it took 100 firefighters about an hour and a half to gain control of the flames there. red cross is finding temporary shelter for two dozen people. the fire destroyed 8 apartments, there's no word about a cause. philadelphia police are talking to a person about the fatal shooting of a 4-year-old girl. her 5-year-old sibling pulled the trigger. jeff chirico has more. >> reporter: crystal grieves the loss of her friend's four-year-old daughter who she

in the mud. the boys tried to free, but went and got his mom. they tried to dig him out. at 7:35 they called 911. they realized this was a complicated and risky rescue. reinforcements came from across the country. we were fighting mother nature with the mud and the water. at one point we tried to divert the creek and more water kept coming in. >> reporter: special equipment pumped air in surrounding his stuck foot. the suction released his foot and he was freed. he is very thankful that they saved him. the way they embraced my son and made him feel safe in a

we begin this morning with breaking news from north philadelphia. three people are confirmed dead after a shooting in a home here on the 600 block of east west moreland street. a man shot his brother and his brother's girlfriend and another male front after an argument. the shooting suspect himself called 911 and reported what he had done according to police. when officers knocked on the door, the suspect refused to come out. they called in the s.w.a.t team and other officers. after two hours of negotiating police head gunfire. they entered the house and took the gunman into custody without incident. police searched the house a
