saners who is a new york native. now clinton returns to pennsylvania. gray hall is live at her first stop. >> reporter: that is right. a lot of folks excited about the return here to the city of brotherly love. some folks not excited. you see the protesters here with the black lives matter movement. they have been here for over an hour or so. hillary clinton is scheduled to be here about 4:15, it's a little after 5:00, she is still not here, we are still waiting and will join former attorney general, eric holder, to talk about gun violence. fresh off her primary, hillary clinton is making a campaign stop in philadelphia at the st. paul baptist church. it's invitation only and pastor callahan talked about the importance of having her visit. >> if she is elected there are things we'll expect from her administration and even if she

firefighters tried an interior defense of the fire but were pushed back and went on the defensive. delran fire department says that eight units were evacuated. >> me and my brother were sleeping and firefighters started knocking and i was sleeping and if they didn't i probably would have died. i think i have smoke in my apartment but a friend of mine his apartment is all gone. >> one resident was taken to the local hospital and one firefighter with minor burns. >> joe cunningham says the injuries are minor for both the firefighter and resident were released. the fire marshall says that initial responders say that the fire started on the kitchen stove. >> i spoke to the gentlemen that lived in the unit where the fire started. they informed me that he placed a pot on the stove and went into the other room to do something and when he came back the kitchen was full of smoke.

>> reporter: and hunters glen management as well as the red cross are helping displaced residents find shelter. >> thank you chad. it's time now for a check of the "action news" traffic report. >> matt pellman in the traffic center wednesday night. >> the hits just keep coming and we were already feeling beaten up and now 95 is giving us issues, northbound 95 in the work zone at cotman, a vehicle facing sideways and they got that straightened out and this point the northbound center lane is squeezing through barely here in the work zone. southbound a broken down vehicle on cotman got pushed to the side and farther south approaching girard and there is another broken down vehicle, problematic because we have double games in philadelphia, people will head southbound towards the phils and flyers. and northbound will also be busy and eastbound schuylkill where speeds are in the single digits.

working hard to make sure everyone knows what the symptoms are. ali gorman has the story. >> reporter: you'll see a lot of teal around the home of 14-year-old harrison runyon and his mom maureen, it's the color for ovarian cancer awareness. three summers ago maureen was in the fight of her life against the disease. >> stage three and i could have been diagnosed earlier. >> symptoms could involve bloating and difficulty eating or feeling full quickly and uriny frequency or harrison took on the housework -- >> he learned to do his own laundry and got himself packed and off to work. he did not realize until later how sick his mom was. >> there was like a 25% of her living and that hit me like a

rock. >> harrison went into high gear, trying to make teal for ovarian cancer as recognizable as pink for breast cancer. and organized a school fundraiser, for $1 students could duct tape a teacher to the wall. they will run and sell pins and cards listing ovarian cancer symptoms, harrison wants to educate kids to help their moms and grab moms catch them earlier. maureen is now cancer free. it's annual sprint is this weekend at the art museum. there are 5-k and 15 k events and you can register as a sleep walker if you can't be there. proceeds goes to ovarian cancer research.

situation across texas as floodwaters continue to wreak havoc in parts of the state there, authorities are keeping their eyes on two major dams in the houston area, they say the dams are at 50% in populated areas, rescuers continue to evacuate residents from water logged neighborhoods. so far eight people have died and thousands more are homeless and relief is not in sight. forecaste forecasters issued a flash flood watch for tonight. in other news, the south jersey nun claimed a powerful sleep drug caused her to fail a sobriety test. >> sister kimberly miller a teacher at little flower middle

school rushed home after being found guilty of driving under the influence. >> she is in tears and crying and she knows what happens that night. >> the police dash-cam shows that it was december 2015 when she was pulled over after slamming into a body shop. she failed a field sobriety test and she failed a breathalyzer and it was thrown out because of a tech quality. in her trial she testified she took an ambien and a glass of alter wine and has no recollection of how she came to be at the police station. >> i was in my habit in handcuffs, i'm a nun, i was in handcuffs. >> they rejected sister kim's story and the ambien defense.

they do not recognize the idea of sleep driving and other charges have not decided if there will be an appeal. they ordered sister kim's driver's license suspended for 90 days and has paid over $600 in fines. people have signed a petition supporting the nun and the archdiocese of philadelphia will keep her on min straight he live while they review the conviction. the man accused of murdering two women more than 20 years ago is now on trial. opening statements got underway in the case of rudolph churchill, is he charged in the killing of cheryl hannibal in north philadelphia. the investigation turned cold until 2014 when authorities say that dna evidence collected from both crime scenes led to churchill. the sec man wanted in a

shootout with police is now in custody. michael bayne is facing charges including robbery. they say he was behind a holdup monmorning and when officers arrived there was an exchange of gun fire and bar was killed. the friends and family are marching today from the site of the shooting to the police station to bee demand answers about what happened. an "action news" viewer sent us a picture of the raging flames in warringing ton. the flames were through the roof and firefighters were pulled from the inside of the homes because the flames were so intense. the philadelphia police helicopter offered assistance, you see how big the fire was and it took an hour to get things under control and there were no reports of injuries.

a driver is in the hospital because of this crash in port richmond. authorities say that a protein tank inside of car started to leak and that touched off an explosion. it's not clear how badly the driver was injured. police are looking for a man that broke into a center city office building, they released this video of the monday morning crime. he made his way to the seventh floor and helped himself to a laptop, camera and mountain bike before hop ngt elevator and leaving. a nonprofit in philadelphia is tackling the problem of poverty. diversified community service hosted a two gin are you in this morning. they outlined the generation poverty strategy facing in city residents. early childhood education is

as we look atil we have 1.36 inch of rain. and running low for rainfall for the month and we'll try to gain that on friday and then next week on the seven day. 70s for allentown and reading and even the poconos the warm effort spot 72 degrees, southern areas much cooler and you can see the water off the ocean and it pulls the numbers back into the 60s and millville 63 and dover 64 degree, high pressure came in from the north overnight and there you can see that bubble of clear air for the mid-atlantic and the northeast. and that high sinks to the south and that allows the system to finally break away after flooding rains in the deep
