a pleasant good morning to you, it is 6:00 a.m. on this saturday, april 23. here's some of the stories we're following for you right now on "action news," a south jersey family is frantically searching for a beloved pet after a fire forces them out of their home overnight. plus an suv slammed into the side of a home overnight causing substantial damage. we'll update you. raining skies, it will clear occupy. we're tracking showers that moved through the area overnight. chris sowers will help you plan your day with the accuweather forecast. a little rain. actually it's good. >> reporter: yeah, we needed a little rain, it's nine or ten days since rainfall. it will wash the pollen away.

my car was actually it's a black car, but it had a green tint to it when i came out of work. the pollen levels increase as we head into sunday and monday with the clear skies returning. in the meantime, looking at the camden waterfront. hazing out there this morning. showers in philadelphia as we flip over to double scan live. the last batch is working out to sea. the next batch is pushing through the far western suburbs. everybody west of pottstown is seeing showers. the upper level low is spinning back to the west. it's along the mason dixon line southeast of pittsburgh. once it pulls through, the skies will brighten up west to east later this afternoon, as some of the showers begin to pull through over the next few hours.

mayor to expand prek -- pre-k. who she would pay. we are going to raise taxes on the 1%. >> reporter: winning pennsylvania will be a tall task for bernie sanders. hillary clinton won it back in 2008. and her husband won it twice on the way to the white house. why is bernie sanders campaigning in pennsylvania? bernie sanders has won 17 states in the election for the democratic nomination. we came from 16 points behind. >> reporter: most everyone had predicted hillary clinton would steam roll her way to the democratic national convention in philadelphia this summer. sanders has stood in her way time and time again. clinton herself compared his

family from their home in waterford township, camden county. the search is on for the family's two dogs on hillside avenue. the fire started at 2:30. the cause is under investigation. new information to tell you about an suv took a chunk of a home at the jersey shore, the suv flipped over after striking the corner of a home on schoolhouse road in egg harbor township. the driver got out with minor injuries. the people who live in the home they are okay. police are talking to the driver and trying to figure out what caused a wreck. a community is struggling with the senseless death of amy joyner. the 16-year-old died after being assaulted in the bathroom at the school. police are questioning multiple

people, but no arrests have been made in the case. those who knew her are asking why this happened. my baby is gone and it hurts me to the core because i never expected that i have to be up saying rest in peace to one of my friends. this was not a young lady who was involved in street activity. this was the honor roll student manager of the wrestling team her mother and father were involved in her life. heartbreaking story. funeral arrangements are pending for the 16-year-old student. a state trooper who helped to guard governor tom wolf stands accused of beating his life. he beat his wife and threatened to kill her after a night of drinking. jordon is suspended without pay while the investigation continues. thick black smoke filled the air as firefighters battled

a fire in reading. the took two hours to bring the fire under control. smoke could be seen from miles. everyone was able to make it out of the buildings safely. police in camden arrested a man in connection with a suspicious fire that sent 6 people to the hospital. including four children. the two story row home went up in flames early yesterday morning on the 800 block of haddon avenue. police say the suspect was a ten antiwho was in the process of being evicted. everyone is expected to be okay. 6:08. a portion of broad street in center city is closed off, but you may enjoy the shut down. the philadelphia international festival of the arts is taking over broad street from chestnut to south streets and that means traffic will be detoured to 13th and 15th streets. breakdown of the event should be complete by early tomorrow morning. there's much more to come on "action news" saturday morning, showing his hand, bird fans got

the scene through eastbound lanes. police say the man wanted for shooting and killing five people in mument -- mument -- multiple locations has taken his own life in columbia i can't county. the shooter was -- columbia county. they were relatives of his wyche. police don't have a motive only saying the killings were domestic in nature. the search is on for a person in southern ohio who executed 8 members of one family. there are 6 different crime scenes, one woman was shot as she slept next to a four day old baby. the baby and two other very young children were spared. investigators believe the family was targeted. we are advising family

our first step completely remove the carpet and all the staples that leaves us with a clean subfloor. we'll paint the floor and add visual interest with fun detailing. before we do that, we have to take care of the seams and any of nail holes we don't want to see. we'll mix the puddy and fill in the seams, once it dries it will be ready to paint. after sandings the puddy, we'll put the porch paint on the floor. it's designed to withstand heavy foot traffic. we suggest you let it dry overnight. the neck step we'll do is paint on stripes. it will give us a multitone look. let's do measurements and use a chalk line and then we'll tape. we'll let it dry and rough it up a bit and give it character. for 60 bucks which is the same amount of money to by a few feet
