he was told he took an already occupied seat. braxton appeared to calm down and then walked away and storm a church member came from across the church and confronted braxton. >> when he came over he had a gun out. escalating the situation. braxton then took a swing at the shooter purging him in the jaw and the defendant shoots the victim twice. >> braxton was hit by two bullets in the chest area and died at the hospital. and they say he flashed a badge but is not and has never been a member of law enforcement. the badge that the suspect showed the victim was a permit

station. police say he walked in wearing some kind of costume saying he had a bomb strapped to him, everybody was able to get out of the building safely and that led to a standoff. police say he shot the man when he walked out of the building but refused to follow their directions. they have not given his name yet and they cannot give him medical attention because they are afraid of that bomb on his body and they are giving him commands from a robot. >> more than 100 suspects drug treaters are behind bars today after several raids. they seized more than $48,000 along with weapons and drugs, ranging from heroin to meth to pills. in the process of today's raids, police accidentally broke down an innocent woman's door in the case of mistaken identity.

gray hall will have more on that coming up at 4:30 today. in newcastle delaware, students are meeting with grief counselors after their classmate was hit by a car and killed. tyler span was struck yesterday afternoon while trying to cross a highway. today his classmates were coping with his loss. and his sister is also in the school. >> we'll pull together for tyler and especially for his sister. >> tyler and three friends were trying to cross the northbound lanes of route 13 by basin road and tyler stepped in front of a toyota camry, he was hit and thrown and pronounced dead at the hospital. the other teens did make it across okay uninjured. dorsey remained at the scene and no charges will be filed against

today investigator in minnesota are looking into whether prescription drugs played a part in the death of prince. law enforcement tells abc news when the super star died last

congregation is giving back in a big way. first presbyterian church of ambler donated $300,000 to the inner faith housing alliance today. that money will purchase a home on ambler drive to be used for homeless families to get back on their feet. they plan to name the transition home hope forest. and they have announced plans to stick out their green thumb. they joined the secretary of agriculture to stake a claim in the virtual farming industry. the increasingly farming measure is used to grow pest free produce year round in urban settings. they say philadelphia is well positioned to be a global hub for production and training. and the oakland villa apartments are finished and

into an innocent family's home while they were getting ready for school and work. jay hall is live at the darby police station with the details. >> reporter: i can tell you that the police chief went out personally to apologize to the woman and tonight she is praising the actions of his police officers for getting nearly 100 drug dealers off the streets and making the streets a whole lot safer. >> thursday morning dozens of people were hauled off to jail in darby borough. chief says that officers recovered $48,000 worth of drugs. police say that those arrested were selling crack, marijuana and meth and other illegal narcotics, they will be charged

the door carrying high powered weapons and terrifying the people inside. >> we clearly owe people an apology that is the bottom line and we'll make sure we do that, the people out there were acting in good faith, but it appears they may have gotten the wrong information. >> commissioner ross says the city will fix the damage left behind at the home. no one else was seriously hurt in the mixup and the people were taken into custody. questioned. and released. >> and police are investigating a crime in nice town, two cars collided yesterday morning the suspect claimed he was armed and forced the victim into his car and drove to the nearest atm ordering the man to empty his account and the suspect ran off. if you recognize this man you are asked to call police. >> city leader in philadelphia

are shining a spotlight on diversity. mayor jim kenney and other officials attended a diversity meeting today. kenney also talked about the need to include everyone in the city's success. west catholic preparatory high school is celebrating a $5 million gift from a generous former student. leonard mazer graduated in 1963 and went on to become a pharmaceutical executive. today he and his family came back to west philadelphia and to the school to donate the $5 million. well, knee pain is all too common for some americans and many turn to relief the comfortable. it turns out that the pills may not be that much help. monica malpass is live with the details. >> that is right. many popular supplements can

an ivy league school has a health issue on its hands today. harvard is dealing with a mumps outbreak. the first case was a couple of months ago and is up to 41 students. all have been immunized. but even with the vaccine 12% of the population is at risk for

most of the southern new jersey and delaware and southern parts of pennsylvania. but we'll close in on northern parts of center city heading towards the northeast airport. it's dry but more rain is on the way and that extends up the northeast extension, 422 and 22 and most of the pennsylvania turnpike. it's wet right now in all of buck county as well. this is the biggest concentration and steady enough to cause problems on the roadways. 45 in reading, 46 in lancaster and dover, 52 in allentown. 49 in philadelphia. so very chilly with that rain. we see that first stripe passing through to the north. a bit of a break, severe thunderstorm watches popped up for west virginia as well as virginia and north carolina. we are not going to see severe weather throughout the duration of the seven-day forecast but we'll again have periods of rain pass through. future tracker 6 havingishes

issues because -- boom there it is. clouds locking in and there could be a couple of scattered showers tomorrow morning, but overall a dry rush tomorrow in the morning. and then in the afternoon energy rides through and temperatures in the 50s and it sparks up scattered showers around and a brief downpour in a couple of locations. that will pass by here for the beginning of the weekend on saturday, what will happen here on saturday, we'll have highs to the north that brings in an easterly wind off the water and low pressure in the midwest throwing clouds our way and squeeze play with clouds and minimal sunshine and 65 degrees, saturday is dry and this area of low pressure pushes in on sunday with a morning soaking with temperatures below average, 50s in the morning and 60 in the afternoon. so bad timing as it's now looking for the broad street
