philadelphia area, but there is hope, for a much nicer day for mothers day on sunday. lets get right to meteorologist cecily tynan at the big board, cecily. >> jim, it business time. what a flip flop over the past 20 days, first ten days of that period starting april 17th we have had mega block and we were trapped under high pressure. that meant it was warm, temperatures, more than 6 degrees above average and it was dry, only about a third of an inch of rain the flip side, past ten days, temperatures averaging more than 6 degrees below average and we had more rain the past ten days then we have had the entire month of april, more than 2 inches and it is still raining in parts of our region. double scan live is showing you look at this spin, low pressure is sitting over us. it is verticalcally stacked which means upper level low is right over the surface low. that will help weaken the storm. it will start to dissipate but we have a solid area of rain right now, generally north and

west of philadelphia, north of the pennsylvania turnpike, we do have some pockets of some heavier rain. things will be changing over the weekend but future tracker is showing don't want to expect to see bright sunshine when you wake up tomorrow morning at 9:00 o'clock, lots of clouds with a few spotty showers. into the afternoon i think we will see some breaks in the clouds but also the possibility of some instability showers but then a system moves through sunday morning and that will bring us a huge change in our weather. we will talk more about that with the full accu weather forecast, jim. >> thanks, cecily. lets go live to "action news" reporter john rawlins in manayunk. john, everybody itching for warm and dry weather now that we're into the month of may. >> reporter: it would be nice, wouldn't it? it is may. tomorrow is first saturday in may. it should be lovely weather. it has not been. we have had a pattern that does not want to change. the on again/off again rain of this evening is off again at least here in manayunk for the moment. the it is pretty busy on main street or has been throughout the day.

"action news" reporter dann cuellar is live from our the satellite center tonight, dann, you've got the story. >> reporter: it is a federal security officer who has been taken in custody in connection with the two day shooting spree a spree that left three dead and three others wounded. new tonight, caught on tape, final moments police surround federal officer's car ramming it, leaving him startled. watch again as suspect walk to the car, police rammed his vehicle guns drawn. he gives up, without a fight. >> he came out with his hand up in five minutes. >> reporter: arrest would end a 24 hour period that began a day earlier. police suspect eulalio tordil, an officer with the federal protective service shot and killed his estranged wife outside prince georges county high school on thursday as she wait todd pick up their kid. the his wanted poster issued with this warning, the suspect has made threats to commit suicide by cop. home land security officials tell us that eulalio tordil had been placed on administrative leave and his badge and gun taken after a court order to stay away from

his wife was issued in march. >> we have a shooting at mall. we are trying to set out a perimeter looking for a gray silver car. >> reporter: today around 11:15 with thousands of customers at montgomery mall in bethesda, shots ring out in the parking lot. woman hit. two men trying to help her, shot as well. all rushed to the hospital where one of the good smart tans later died. a short time later 10 miles away another fatal shooting. woman gunned down near this giant super market. >> these shooting is here and shooting in aspenville are related. >> reporter: fortunately violence came to an even without incident. >> we have no reason to believe at this point that the victims knew the suspect. >> reporter: shooting and subsequent manhunt brought back scary memories of the washington snipper spree back in 2002. tonight, people are breathing a big sigh of relief. live from the sat center i'm dann cuellar for channel six "action news". >> dann, thank you. police say a woman who survived a car crash in gloucester county new jersey was killed by a hit and run

driver, after she got out of her vehicle. three two-year old anabell a uponty crashed in the tree on route 55 in deptford at 5:30 this morning. investigators believe that she got out of her car to look for help and that is when she was struck. evesham police are asking for your help, identifying this suspect serial bank bandit. investigators say that he robbed a bb and t bank on lincoln drive on tuesday morning, and a citizens bank last night, fortunately nobody was hurt in either episode. philadelphia police commissioner richard ross led a procession of hundreds of men and women in blue. as they paid tribute to former commissioner willie williams. tonight was first of two public viewings for williams who died last week, at the age of of 72. a second viewing is scheduled for 8:00 o'clock tomorrow morning atsion baptist church, and, funeral services will follow. and casino workers

republican party's presumptive nominee donald trump didn't talk very much about uniting the the g.o.p. at a rally in omaha, nebraska today. even coming as a did one day after speaker paul ryan called on trum top unify the party. ryan announced that he was not the ready to support trump and today south carolina senator lindsey graham said that he won't even vote for trump. same from another formal rival jeb bush. former presidential candidate bob dole, did endorse trump today. hillary clinton set her sights on trump during her rally in oakland, california. she said donald trump doesn't care about equal pay for woman quote because he doesn't think much of women. california primary is june 7th. bernie sanders said today that

the dnc's committees are stacked against him and he threatened to fight overrules, and platform, at the convention in philadelphia. unemployment remains on track at 5 percent as employers added 160,000 jobs last month, that is troubling to some analyst because job growth is well below the average pace of the past, six months. but others say, that this is expected, and a more reasonable pace, and importantly wages are now the on the rise, up to two and a half percent. berks county family claims that their three month-old should never have been taken from their arms. and now, they stand accused of child abuse. "action news" is investigating whether a possible miss diagnosis has put that family a at risk. a rare genetic disorder to blame? caesar, was born on january 6th of last year. his parents jessica and caesar senior say he was a healthy 6-pound, 11-ounce baby boy. >> he was such a happy baby. >> reporter: parenthood wasn't without some stress for these first time parents. in the first three months they took caesar to the doctor approximately, 13 times. and then when caesar was three and a half months old a trip to saint josephs medical center check on what was a bug bite on his left leg left their family suddenly shattered. >> how does this happen? it didn't make any sense to me. >> reporter: jessica and caesar said they asked for little caesar to be transferred to hershey medical center where a full body scan was done. fine goes were horrifying. the caesar had 20 bone fractures across his body from his fingers to his wrist and legs. >> how does my son have have so many fractures and is so happy. >> reporter: family was given an estimate that the fractures

happened three to eight weeks back and in that time caesar had multiple trips to the doctor. and not until that possible bug bite was a single bruce observed on his body. but medical care team, led by doctor catherine crowel said this was child abuse. >> i'm thinking there has to be something wrong with the x-ray machine or something that was missed. >> reporter: three month-old was immediately ripped out of their home and placed in the care of the state. >> i just felt like i lost my soul. i lost everything. >> reporter: at first parents say they felt power less to fight accusations but soon they started an uphill battle to prove their innocence. their search led them to three leading experts in the area of vitamin d deficiency a common shortage associated with breast-feeding. one with doctor michael pollack a world renowned endocrinologies at boston hospital and said lack of vitamin d can result in broken bones just from every day handling. >> there is a very high

likelihood, that he was vitamin d deficient. >> reporter: the doctor examined little caesar and jessica. on top of the potential vitamin insufficiency he diagnosed both with a disorder called eds, that can mimic the signs of child abuse. >> combination of those two, markedly increases the risk for fractures, that are about to be due to abuse when in fact, they are due to a compromised, system that is very fragile. >> reporter: in a february hearing, where parents of caesar return, doctor crowel testified, caesar's injuries were consist tend with juror physical abuse. hershey medical center added in a statement, that the medical facts in this case, clearly reached, reasonable suspicion. and we supported it. >> i think is a miss diagnosis. >> reporter: he represents jessica and also the attorney for another family accused of child abuse by doctor crowel whose child was also taken from their home.

>> in that case a father sat behind bars for 414 days, and charged with abusing his daughter and unable to make bail. that father was ultimately acquitted at trial. he is now suing crowel and others hoff all denied any wrongdoing. >> i feel like my baby has been kidnaped from me. >> reporter: it has been more than a year since caesar was taken away. >> i just want him to be home, i want him to be happy. i don't want him to forget that i'm his mom. or he is his dad. >> reporter: we have reached out to berks county children and youth services for a response but they would not confirm or deny their involvement in this case. but the agency has now requested a gag order from a judge. so far no criminal charges have been filed against the parents. >> what is next for the parents? how do they go about trying to prove that this is a a vitamin deficiency and not a case of abuse. >> reporter: they have been

trying to prove that in court. here's the frightening thing that child has been in the care at 12 months. at 15 months they can put that child up for adoption. three months they could lose their son. >> all right. you will stay on this. thanks, wendy. on health check at 11:00 tonight temple university happies launching an ambitious project to save lives of new born babies in philadelphia, the infant mortality rate, in the city is nearly double the u.s. average. one of the ways to reduce the risk of sids, sudden infant death syndrome is to encourage safe sleeping habits. so temple will prove every mother with what is called a baby box, literally a cardboard box lined with the mattress that can be used as a bass inn net. the doctors say that is safer then bringing a new born into bed with adults. temple expects to give out 3,000 baby boxes, and will also provide baby clothes, diapers, and educational materials. the baby's may also be going home with one of these names from the newly released,

is showing that we are still dealing with some showers, they are generally on a light side, generally north ape west of the i-95 corridor but we have some pockets of heavier rain that are right now, moving through pottstown and note that is rain is moving from the east to the west, and kind of the opposite of most weather systems. that low pressure is just spinning over it. but it is weakening, but today, temperatures, going no where, fast. our low 50, our high, it is only managed to make it up to 56 degrees. that is 15 degrees below normal. we will get up in the 70's. it will feel like a heat wave after this past week, 51 degrees in philadelphia the trenton 49. cape may 51. allentown and reading 50. wilmington also 50 degrees. the a satellite six with action radar is showing that the spin, the low pressure that has been flagging us for really the past ten days. you can see it weakening but it still will be over us tomorrow. so that means it will be a little bit unsettled. future tracker showing at 8:30

don't expect a bright, sunny morning. we will have cloud with a scattering of showers. as we head in the a afternoon we will see peaks of sunshine but we will see a few spotty showers. i want to show you what happens sunday morning. this is when a cold front rolls rolls through with yes, another round of showers, but what this cold front will do is finally, sweep that low pressure out to sea. by lunchtime the sunshine is here and the sunshine is sticking around, for several hours. it is in the like you see a few peaks of sunshine on mothers day. this is a gift for you mom from mother nature. 9:00 in the morning some cloud. 56 degrees but 11:00 o'clock through 5:00 o'clock we are looking at load of sunshine and temperatures more seasonal backup in the lower 70's, for moms and really for everyone, we have got a gift from mother nature because we deserve some sunshine. the exclusive a accu weather seven day forecast, tomorrow will be nicer than today but still more cloud and sunshine with a few scattered showers.
