thunder, this is associated with a cold front pushing through. this is a good sign this is the beginning of the end of the dreary pattern we've seen for the last 11 days. we'll zoom into delaware county, you can see the line from horsham all the way down from frankford, palmyra, riverside getting ready to be hit. heavy downpours, you have to slow the traveling speeds down. the downpours are moving so quickly, one minute the visibility is fine, the next minute you can't see a thing. national weather service issuing a visibility driving advisory. you'll hear a rumble of thunder and reduced visibility and after 20 minutes or so, the storm pulls away and things clear out again. look what happens by afternoon, turns out to be a fabulous day. morning clouds and quick-hitting downpour and by 11:00 a.m. we'll see sunshine.

it is a sea of pink at the art museum steps as people are gathered for the race for the cure. looks like the rain has stopped, a little rain will not keep the folks away. the race starts around 8:00 a.m. people are getting rallied for the -- ready for the opening ceremony. this is great mother's day tradition. the highlight is the parade of pink as survivors walk down the art museum steps they are a picture of courage and determination. we're looking forward to seeing that once again this year.

indeed, chris sowers is tracking the act -- accuweather forecast, give them some good news, chris. >> reporter: we'll get you started with the view of the philadelphia international airport. there's a shocker, wet runways, we've on seen this for 11 straight days. the showers are quickly pushing through another half-hour or so most of it is coming to an end. let's flip it to the radars. most of the heavier stuff is confined to the areas out of the viewing areas. northern portions of new jersey moving into new york city. we have a cell over the city of philadelphia. we're going to zoom in there, if you're traveling let's say along the tacony-palmyra bridge and suddenly make a left and go northbound along route 130 along the riverside in willingboro it is pouring. you need to slow it down and take your time because the downpours are reducing the visibility. slow it down and let the downpours pass on through, and everything gets back to normal.

53 degrees in philadelphia. it's fairly mild. dewpoint, 49. press, 29.66 inches it's falling. winds out of the south/southwest at 7 miles per hour. the ocean temperature is 53. that about it, the downpour over philadelphia county that i showed you, that's about all that is left. the rest of the of it is up here, once it pulls through, everything dry out and sunshine returns. everybody climbs into the mid to upper 60s this afternoon. this is a cold front that's pushing through. remember yesterday we had the upper level low sitting and spinning over top of the philadelphia area. this tbronlt is picking that -- this front is picking that low up and pushing it north into the southern provinces of canada. wait until you see what we have waiting in the wings. this is high pressure and this will become brighter and brighter always the high settles in. cold front slides through, and pushes everything out to sea. today is a nice one.

in atlanta, georgia after a long illness. he was 72 years old. police are investigating the shooting of a college football player from alabama. greg bryant and another man was found shot inside a car on i-95 in west palm beach early yesterday morning. bryant is in critical condition. the other man is in stable condition. bryant started his football career at notre dame and transferred to uniformity -- uab. new jersey may be the first state to sell birth control over-the-counter. lawmakers say legislation is needed to make it easier to let women get birth control and reduce the risk of unplanned pregnancy. wendy saltzman exposes trouble in the check out aisle. imagine being overcharged

mexican border. this is him being transferred yesterday. joaquin "el chapo" guzman was captured in january after nearly 6 months on the run following his most recent prison break. his lawyers are appealing having him extradited to face trug trafficking charges. there are fears that the raging wildfire in canada could spread from alberta to saskatchewan. 1600 homes and buildings have been torched by the blaze. 80,000 people have left for the mcmurray in the canadian oil sands. the fire ignited on may 1 and burning out of control ever since. new this morning, right now police are looking for the person who shot and killed a man on a camden, new jersey street. the action cam was at the scene 1400 block of bradley avenue. shots were fired at 3:20 a.m.

now all three locations are reporting clear conditions and the sun is shining. that's the clearing line racing off to the east. there's great adventure, somewhere around here. heavy downpours through the northern portion of the pine barrens and where it's -- wrightstown and racing toward hammonton. we're starting the drying process in places like florence and riverside. 51 is where we started out this morning. that's what they are showing in slatington and fleetwood. pottstown, 52. quakertown, 50 degrees. warrington, 50. center city 53. levite -- levittown. 51. smyrna up to 54. dover, 55. so we're finally seeing the cold front kick out to sea. you see how the band arcs.

there's harrisburg clear as a whistle that's racing off to the east. by 10:30, 11:00 a.m. we should have bright blue and a lot of sun glistening down. all that dreary weather coming to an end. the big question is will it re-emerge later this week. all the moisture will start gathering across the heartland of the nation. there are signs that will make a run toward the delaware valley again, wednesday and thursday and beyond this upcoming workweek him we'll see how it plays out. there's a few forecast models that will keep it to the west. hopefully those models are hinting toward the right solution. future tracker 11:00 a.m. it's clear as a bell across the delaware and lehigh valleys. poconos, wilks-berry and scranton you could see leftover

showers, for us, sunshine and nice breeze out of the west at 15 to 20 miles per hour. monday afternoon we'll start out with sunshine and the high, thin clouds increase from the southwest and that will eventually lead to a couple of showers tuesday afternoon and tuesday night. but it's just that a couple of showers not drenching downpours. the wind will pick up out of the west/northwest, the cawj -- cawj cawj -- calming wind. maybe that stirs up the pollen a little bit, but it's a drying wind. the pollen levels with the increased sunshine, today and tomorrow back on the high side after 11 straight days of low to moderate levels. but by tuesday and wednesday the level drop off as the showers move back into the picture.
