good afternoon in the news we are learning more about the teenage girls charged in the death of a teenage student. and the search for a man wanted for a hit and run. and police are investigating an attack reported by a freshman girl reported at sayer high school in south philadelphia. katherine scott is live with reaction. >> reporter: officials here at the district say that the school is cooperating with the special victims unit as this investigation is underway. so far no charges are filed. the alleged attacker in all of this is a 14-year-old freshman boy and is suspended pending the outcome of this investigation. >> students a sayer high school were stunned to hear about allegations of sexual assault

inside of their own school. >> i am afraid to go to school. i'm going to tell my parents, i can't do this, no. i'm scared. >> a 14-year-old girl reported being sexually salt assaulted last year in a stairwell. the accused attacker is a freshman boy. there are cameras but none captured the alleged incident. >> there is surveillance of the two students in question walking down the hallway and exited the building. that is what we provided to philadelphia police and they are using that for their investigation. >> reporter: while the hallways are flooded when the bell rings, people tend to rush out. >> people go different ways. it's a lot of people, but they clear out quick though. >> the victim is offered support and there are counselors and

psychiatrists on hand for the student body as well. >> there is support for our students with stress or any issue whether you feel unsafe in the neighborhood or stress about they are school environment. >> and the school district says a letter will be going home with parents to make sure they are aware of this ongoing investigation. we are live in spring garden, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. three students at howard high school of technology of wilmington are facing charges in the death of a classmate. amy joyner francis died after a fight in the school bathroom and a 16-year-old girl is charged with negligent homicide for punching her repeatedly. vernon odom will have reaction from other students coming up at 12:30. a man is recovering from a hit and run in west philadelphia.

police are searching for the driver who struck the man while he was riding a bike. it happened at 2:00 at 52nd and spruce and police are checking surveillance cameras to see if perhaps they captured the suspect leaving the scene. the cloudy cool weather is back today. looking live from sky 6 hd a gray afternoon. we look live at penn's landing and all across the rest of the region as well. meteorologist, david murphy, is tracking the dreary conditions. >> a little bit of stubborn rain and clouds. highlights shades of green you'll get coverage on roadways but this is fairly light season nuisance stuff. it's moving in from the west and you can see that from the wide view here and it looks as though once we get the wide batch out of here we wind up way lull in the action until additional

the white house now. voters from both parties are heading to the polls in west virginia while the republicans have their say in nebraska today. a new poll says that donald trump and hillary clinton are even in three battleground states including pennsylvania. karen travers is live in washington with the latest on the campaign trail. >> reporter: hillary clinton has not put much efforts into winning west virginia's primary today, so they are expecting to potentially lose big but their focus is on november. >> almost eight years ago hillary clinton beat barack obama about a 2-1 margin in west virginia. now it's dramatically different, clinton's campaign is bracing for a loss and bernie sanders could win big. these comments about the coal industry in march, is not sitting well. but despite sander's spring

during the food and beverage service. medics took eight people to the hospital. this is the fourth airline effected by severe turbulence in the last week. a teenager in arizona is recovering after being burned by an electronic cigarette. the teen says she was getting ready to use the device when it exploded and caught her clothes on fire and burned her chest, arms and hands and she hopes what happened to her will be a warning to others. president barack obama will be the first sitting president to visit hiroshima. . the united states dropped an atomic bomb on the ski decimating it. he will not apologize, but the visit itself will send a powerful message. people in california are

david back with another check of the accuweather forecast. and the gray skies are back as well. stormtracker 6 live double scan shows you we are not exactly totally dry either. although what are you looking at here is fairly light nuisance rain as i give you the two dimensional view. most of it is highlighted in the shades of green. it's drizzle or light rain, every now and then you see a darker cell south of pottstown and that will bother you for a couple of minutes with steadier rain or getting your windshield wiper going. and darker shades of green in cumberland county, but this doesn't look like all that much and as we go out wider it looks

temporary breaks in the clouds, up in the lehigh valley, a high of just 59 degrees, mostly cloudy and a spotty shower can't be ruled out and you'll probably be dry most of the afternoon, down the shore lots of clouds and a spotty shower possible and a high of just 56 if you are up north or down by the shore a jacket is required downtown. we are probably only going to add another degree or two for the high temperature. 58 degrees and lots of clouds and a spotty shower cannot be ruled out at times. we have action like that right now. winds 6 to 12 miles per hour. not all that strong. for the afternoon and evening commute roll up the windows, 58 degrees by 4:00 and 57 by 5:00 and only in the mid-50s between 6:00 and 7:00. lots of clouds and maybe a drop on your windshield. 52 is the overnight low, and mostly cloudy and i'll allow for more sprinkles and showers and

by tomorrow morn we may have something to show you on live double scan live radar. it could be cloudy and a couple of showers around but milder air starts to come into the region and we'll get to about 70. maybe stop at 68 or 69. 5:00 a.m. we may show you something on live double scan live radar and then a lull and then light showers are possible. not a washout today and not a washout tomorrow but some nuisance stuff around and a frontal boundary to the south. 58 and cloudy and cooler and at times damp this afternoon. tomorrow milder again and a high of 70, we can't rule out showers or sprinkles and on the forecast if you are a union fan down to the evening match against the galaxy tomorrow. hopefully we'll be drying out
