good afternoon in the news we are learning more about the teenage girls charged in the death of a teenage student. and the search for a man wanted for a hit and run. and police are investigating an attack reported by a freshman girl reported at sayer high school in south philadelphia. katherine scott is live with reaction. >> reporter: officials here at the district say that the school is cooperating with the special victims unit as this investigation is underway. so far no charges are filed. the alleged attacker in all of this is a 14-year-old freshman boy and is suspended pending the outcome of this investigation. >> students a sayer high school were stunned to hear about allegations of sexual assault

inside of their own school. >> i am afraid to go to school. i'm going to tell my parents, i can't do this, no. i'm scared. >> a 14-year-old girl reported being sexually salt assaulted last year in a stairwell. the accused attacker is a freshman boy. there are cameras but none captured the alleged incident. >> there is surveillance of the two students in question walking down the hallway and exited the building. that is what we provided to philadelphia police and they are using that for their investigation. >> reporter: while the hallways are flooded when the bell rings, people tend to rush out. >> people go different ways. it's a lot of people, but they clear out quick though. >> the victim is offered support and there are counselors and

psychiatrists on hand for the student body as well. >> there is support for our students with stress or any issue whether you feel unsafe in the neighborhood or stress about they are school environment. >> and the school district says a letter will be going home with parents to make sure they are aware of this ongoing investigation. we are live in spring garden, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. three students at howard high school of technology of wilmington are facing charges in the death of a classmate. amy joyner francis died after a fight in the school bathroom and a 16-year-old girl is charged with negligent homicide for punching her repeatedly. vernon odom will have reaction from other students coming up at 12:30. a man is recovering from a hit and run in west philadelphia.
