to this day. it is believe to have crashed into the indian ocean. kendis and diane. >> thank you. over to iraq now where concerns about security are sky high this morning after new wave of deadly violence. isis claimed responsibility for three separate explosions that killed at least 93 people yesterday and wounded more than 160 others. it was the deadliest day there so far this year. the attacks come amid growing concern about the political turmoil that's destabilizing iraq and undermining the fight against isis. meanwhile, fbi director james comey says the u.s. is making progress against isis recruiting. comey says nearly 800 isis-related cases are being tracked across the u.s. and fewer americans are now traveling to enlist with the terror group. comey claimed a couple of years ago six to ten americans headed to the region every month now that number is down to about one per month. federal officials say a fire that's sparked the deadly blast at a texas fertilizer plant as deliberately set and that

leveled the plant, damaged buildings in the town of west texas and even registered as as a small earthquake. 15 killed, a dozen first responders. the atf is now offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. three people have emerged as heroes following that deadly stabbing spree in massachusetts. the d.a. says seconds after arthur derosa crashed, a macy's worker tried to stop him from attacking people. then he ran to a restaurant in the mall where he stabbed a waitress. that's when george heath, a teacher, tried to get the knife away. his wife describes what happened. >> i grabbed his shirt trying to hold him back. my husband grabbed him around the waist area, i think, trying to keep him so his arm wouldn't go up to stab anybody else. and the guy pulled his hand back and stabbed him in the temple. >> unfortunately george heath died in that effort.

the rampage finally ended when an off-duty officer killed derosa but derosa's family members say it could have been prevented if a mental hospital where he had gone for treatment hadn't released him that morning of the attacks. residents near los angeles were complaining about this large flare from an exxonmobil refinery earlier this week. the plant just restarted more than a year after it was damaged by an explosion. exxonmobil was fined more than half a million dollars for safety violations following that explosion. also out of l.a., the lack of job opportunities for female directors in hollywood is being investigated. two federal agencies are handling this investigation. this is according to the aclu which also requested the probe. it follows a report that women comprised just 9% of all directors for the top 250 movies last year. diversity is a really important issue in hollywood. payless is pulling some

zimmerman shot martin as the teen returned from buying snacks. he was found not guilty of murder and manslaughter. a former south carolina police officer is now facing federal charges in the shooting death of walter scott. scott who was not armed fled after a traffic stop last year. he was shot by officer michael slager who claims it was self-defense. splaig is now accused of violating the civil rights of walter scott among other charges. his attorney says slager is, quote, carrying the burden of many past cases that were handled differently. slager is expected to stand trial on state murder charges this fall. right now, though, he's free on bail. three women were arrested after allegedly trying to smuggle 70 pounds of opium into chicago's o'hare airport. all in their 50s were heading to minnesota from japan. they found 470 packets of opium concealed in bags of tea leaves. they're worth more than $3 million. researchers say the active ingredient in tylenol does more
