abc's ron clayborn has more. >> reporter: seven year-old molly deluka and her family duke, are inseparable. that bond may have saved her life. last wednesday, molly was out in the backyard with hoss, should lynn dog came up on a highly poisonous eastern diamond baccarat will snake. he leaped into action. >> he saw him jump back and go forward and just holding his ground. next thing there is blood and he was limping and crying. >> reporter: the snake bit hoss3 times in the leg but he never got to the little girl. hoss was rush to the vet clinic. >> hi, baby. >> reporter: he underwent emergency treatment with an anti venom. >> i didn't know if they were able to help him. >> reporter: for four days it has been touch and go. >> do you you want some water report report through it all molly had has been there by his side. the treatment hoss is getting is intensive and expensive, over $9,000 so far.
