the owner of the aquarium center at the commerce plaza two in clementon. his store has been shut down since may 9th when mercury was discovered inside a fish tank. the toxic substance was spread when employees tried to clean it out along with the dead fish inside. >> mercury he in itself is a -- is dangerous substance and any elevated exposure can cause sickness. >> reporter: including brain kidney damage and death. employees had to undergo a decontamination process including discarding all of their clothing. acceptable levels of mercury are .05 milligrams per cubic meter. the level on the store of the fish store was 10,000 times that. 12 employees at the store are having urine samples sent scott centers for disease control for testing. >> my staff, myself, my family, we were walking through it for five days. >> reporter: gloucester township police are leading the criminal investigation into who contaminated the store with mercury and why.

the state and county health departments are consulting along with the dep. the store was shut down just as it's about to move to a new location not far from here. >> it was a criminal act, we're doing the best we can. we're working with the police. we're working with the dep. i don't have any information at this time. >> reporter: now, the store owner has been ordered to get a mitigation crew in here to clean up the mercury. that hasn't happened yet but he's also got another problem, no one has been inside there for a week and presumably all of the fish that were inside there have died. live in clementon, i'm nora muchanic, channel6 "action news." rick. >> nora, thank you. philadelphia congressman chaka fattah was back in federal court today to fight nearly 30 counts of corruption. fattah is accused of racketeering mail fraud bank fraud and bribery all to pay debts from his failed run for mayor and to pay off his son's college tuition. today fattah said he's done nothing wrong. odom was in court today and he'll have much more from chaka fattah and his legal team coming up tonight at 6:00. in new jersey, a suspected white supremacist is behind bars after he was found in the woods with an ak-47 and lots of ammunition. 42-year-old bruce post of trenton was arrested yesterday in lacy township. he was wearing combat gear at the time. post has been tied to a murder back in 1995. a second man was detained yesterday with post but was not arrested. post is sitting in jail on $400,000 bond. >> the south jersey man accused of killing his own three-year-old son was back in court today as his attorneys tried to get a grand jury indictment thrown out. "action news" reporter sarah bloomquist live outside the court in camden with new developments in the case of david cree yach creato. >> reporter: the attorney filed these motions aimed at getting the grand jury indictment thrown out and his client released from jail.

frankly something that rarely happens. he argued that the medical examiner's investigation was flawed from the start. with his client david creato sitting beside him the attorney argued that the medical examiner dr. gerald fygan misled the grand jury by implying he had gone to the crime scene the day the boy was found dead when instead it was a few days later when which he said mom priced the investigation going forward. >> he's a disgrace. he has a horrific past as a medical examiner and now here he is doing frankly a terrible job that he has to cover by going to this grand jury and at best misleading them. >> reporter: david creato reported his son missing on the morning of october 13th 2015. few hours later brendan was found partially submerged in a creek three-quarters of a mile from his father's app. hits socks were clean and authorities said someone placed brendan in the water.

today the prosecutor argued this was a comprehensive grand jury investigation and the me did nothing wrong. >> what happened was detectives from the prosecutor's office recovered the body from the water and turned it over to the medical examiner's office which is also the practice in this county. >> reporter: the judge agreed with the prosecution and denied the motion to dismiss the indictment. brendan's mother sam man at a den note tow attended the hearing and declined to comment as she left the courthouse. creato's family says they stand by david. >> i mean he's in jail and he doesn't really belong there. >> reporter: what makes you so assured of that. >> because i know my grandson. >> we support our son 100 percent. >> reporter: how is he doing? >> he's -- he's mourning the loss of his son. it's been very tough. >> reporter: creato's attorney filed a motion to

suppress evidence. he argued that david did not understand that he was considered a suspect at the time he agreed to have his cell phone searched. a judge continued that motion until the first week of june. he wants to view the videotape of creato being questioned so he can better understand what he understood when at that time and if he did know if he was a suspect then. live in camden, new jersey, i'm sarah bloomquist channel6 "action news." >> all right, sarah, thank you. u.s. senator bob casey is trying to get support for a bill that would require all adults to report child abuse and neglect to the appropriate authorities. after senator casey toured the mission kids center in he pushed his senate colleagues to pass his speak up act. it would set federal mandates for reporting child abuse and neglect and assure the state screens for domestic violence when investigating child abuse. casey first introduced the bill in the wake of the jerry sandusky scandal. >> protestors took to the streets in north carolina again today as the political

their own infant twins. tullytown police detectives say michael and alyssa shales caused significant injuries to their two young children less than four months old. it was back in late march when mrs. shales reportedly called 911 to say her child was showingy choking. the baby was rushed to the hospital for treatment but on examination police say the child had multiple broken bones in the process of healing. the baby's sibling was also found with similar injuries. both were reportedly malnourished as well. they're facing several felony counts of abuse. philadelphia police are looking for the gun plan who shot a 17-year-old young man 10 times. he was the victim of an apparent drive by at moore and hollywood streets in south philadelphia about midnight. police rushed the child to the hospital in critical condition. and the search continues for clues about what sparked an early morning fire here in center city. firefighters knocked down the flames on a back deck in the 200 block of south tenth street. no injuries reported. >> a man was rescued from a pickup truck that crashed into a creek in delaware county.

from chopper6 you could see the truck partially submerged in an extension of the darby creek near the 500 block of stevens drive in tinicum township. police say the driver lost control of his vehicle on i-95 and it went into the shallow water near exit 10. the driver was taken to crozer medical center with nonlife-threatening injuries. lawmakers in new jersey are debating whether to raise the state minimum wage to $15 an hour. the democrat led senate labor committee started discussing the legislation today. the wage rate is currently $8.38 an hour which works out to a salary of $17,400 a year for full time. new jersey voted back in 2013 to correlate the minimum wage with the rate of inflation. and since then has remained low, wages haven't risen much. governor christie's office called the democrat's bill a job killing measure that could destroy the state's economy. >> dui arrests are on the rise in pennsylvania according to state police and police have noticed a troubling shift of

the 18,801dui arrests in 2015, one out of four were for drivers under the influence of drugs. that is a 43 percent jump from 2014. 4500 people got in a dui related crash and keep in mind these statistics do not even include local police department figures, just statewide figures. >> wow. okay. time for an update on the highways and by ways monday night. >> all right, let's swing over to matt pelman see what's going on. hey, matt. >> we have a major mess forming here in northeast philadelphia rick and monica, a multi vehicle accident happened under 10 minutes ago in the eastbound lanes of woodhaven road, 63 at 13 bristol pike. couple of the vehicles were actually facing sideways across woodhaven. the fire crews and ambulance just arrived and at this point no traffic is getting through headed eastbound toward 95. if i were you i would stay up on street road instead of woodhaven coming away from franklin mills, philadelphia mills this afternoon.

you'll see a grand new set this week on wheel of fortune as they celebrate all things philadelphia with 15 local contestants. tony hood is a firefighter and all his buddies at fourth and girard have been quizzing him. >> we're getting dinner prepared we have channel6 on and i think i'm going to do well. >> reporter: rebecca kline is a senior at the university of tell wear. >> university of delaware. >> i sent in a audition tape from my college dorm room never thinking i would get here. >> reporter: she was called back for an audition in philadelphia last year. now rebecca is finally stepping into the limelight and onto the set of wheel. >> nerves are huge the first time. but everyone was really nice patter and vanna were awesome. >> reporter: part of his job is getting contestants to relax. >> it's to try to kind of break that terrible

of sunshine this afternoon helped warm us quite a bit after starting off at 42 degrees this morning in philadelphia. we hit a high today of 66 degrees and kind of bouncing all around the last three days. saturday was the closest to normal of 76 degrees with that normal being at 74. it was very chilly yesterday. the outdoors at any time yesterday with those winds it made it feel closer to the upper 40's at times throughout the day and again trying to rebound a little bit here this afternoon. but may so far in philadelphia as you know has been really chilly. we've had six days with high temperatures only in the 50's for the first half of the month. we haven't had that many days that were stuck in the 50's for highs since 1978 and at this point temperatures are averaging close to 4 degrees below normal and more than likely may will go down as below normal overall for the month and if that happens it will be the first time in 13 consecutive months where

temperatures have been above normal. 65 in trenton right now, 66 allentown and reading, 66 in wilmington. and even at the shore temperatures in the mid 60's because of that wind coming in out of the northwesterly direction. as we look at satellite and radar clouds in northern new england. in fact northern maine they have three to 6 inches of snow covered the ground up there. for us, clear skies today but notice clouds already marching in from the ohio to tennessee valley. a few showers in our northern kentucky so yes, we do get wet as we go into your tuesday. but for tonight, it's clear early, some clouds building later on, 46 to 51 for the overnight low so a good 10 degrees warmer than it was last night. the front comes in from the north. at the same time a second system comes in from the tennessee valley. the two will semi merge here so he showers move in in the morning right through the afternoon about a quarter to a half an inch of rain expected with a high temperature a little cooler at 62 and then this low will be very slow to drift to our south on wednesday.

we start west on wednesday morning with some early showers and then as that continues to move to the east, a high of 66 will dry out in the afternoon with a little sun on wednesday as high pressure comes in from the great lakes and the northern plains and this is a pretty strong high so as that builds in for the end of the of week it's looking real nice here thursday and friday. the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast showers develop tomorrow of 62. early showers wednesday is replaced by sun by the afternoon of 66. beautiful back to back days thursday and friday, 72 to 74 degrees. and then another system a pretty sizable system begins to pull in from the south on saturday. could be some rain heavy at times saturday of 66. and it may get cut off from the jet stream meaning it may linger here into sunday, possibly into monday. we'll just have to see how long that low will make a home for itself so to speak over the weekend with more rain. so enjoy thursday and friday. >> okay. thank you adam. new jersey couple threw

awareness. the report will say that bostian was distracted by radio traffic concerning a rock falling incident involving a septa train. as for speeding up to 106 miles an hour approaching that curve, the report says bostian may have thought he had already passed the curve. the ntsb is releasing the report tomorrow in washington and "action news" will be there. in federal court in philadelphia today, testimony has begun in the political corruption trial of congressman chaka fattah.
