a good wednesday morning and the race for the white house as another victory for bernie sanders denies hillary clinton a carefree march toward the democratic nomination. >> in oregon more than 60 delegates were up for grabs. he got the good news from his wife jane as he addressed 11,000 supporters in california. the race in kentucky is too close to call with a razor thin margin of less than 1% and end up splitting the state delegates almost evenly but clinton claimed victory in a tweet and called for unity. it's "your voice, your vote" and the latest now. >> reporter: bernie sanders was the only candidate to have an election night event rallying thousands in california even as hillary clinton is getting closer to that delegate finish line. the ap has declared bernie sanders the winner in oregon, in

kentucky hillary clinton is declaring victory. sanders telling the california crowd he has a message for the democratic party. >> it can do the right thing and open its doors and welcome into the party people who are prepared to fight for real economic and social change. [ cheers and applause ] we are in into the last ballot cast. >> reporter: after reports his supporters vandalized headquarters. while sanders tangles with democrats donald trump sitting down with megynkelly. kelly asked him about tweets about women. he tweeted insults including use the word bimbo. >> when you look back on the past nine months from that first debate till now, any regrets? >> absolutely i have regrets.

i don't think i would have discussed what the regrets are but absolutely i could have done certain things differently. >> reporter: his comments on women linger. a super pac supporting hillary clinton out with a new ad is making sure of it making use of trump's own words. >> there was blood coming out of her eyes. blood coming out of her wherever. >> and trump has already attacked that ad on twitter calling former president bill clinton the worst abuser of women in u.s. political history. kendis, diane. >> this battle is just starting. megan, thank you. sanders' victory is not enough to break clinton's stride even though he is vowing to stay in until the last ballot is cast. >> he need he. five other states head to the polls. now, trump did add some 17 delegates to his count as he ran unopposed in oregon. he's now just 6 delegates away

from hitting the magic number of 1,237 and becoming the nominee. trump says he's prepared to negotiate with kim jong-un. if elected he says he would meet with the north korean dictator to try to stop the nuclear program there. his comments represent a sharp turn from current u.s. policy towardpyongyang. the clintons and trumps are disclosing information about their finances. in 2015 the clintons gave 28 paid speeches earning nearly $7 million combined. trump says his income for 2015 was $557 million. the disclosures are required by the s.e.c. they do not include tax returns. >> do stay with abc news for the latest results. live team coverage later on on "good morning america." in the meantime, we move on and happening right now more severe weather in texas. hail, rain and high winds

slamming the san antonio area. pictures just in to us showing vehicles stalled in high water up to 4 inches of rain have fallen in the area since last night. authorities say there are several vehicles that are stuck on interstates 35 and there are reports of numerous water rescues taking place. then in florida, several tornadoes reported there causing damage to homes and knocking down trees and power lines. this one you see here is in ft. pierce. another one touched down right on interstate 95. extensive flooding in central florida reported along the atlantic coast. closing many roads. and look at the radar. you can see the storm system and it's now over the southeast while another is in west texas and that means texas will still see some thunderstorms, but the heaviest will be in florida along with damaging winds and hail. the pentagon is making history, eric fanning has been confirmed as secretary of the army. making him the highest ranking

openly gay official in the military. his confirmation vote was delayed for months because of a disagreement between kansas senator pat roberts and the white house over the closing of guantanamo bay. the obama administration is about to make more than 4 million more workers eligible for overtime. today the labor department will issue new rules that more than double the cutoff for overtime pay to more than $47,000 a year. above that threshold employees can be designated managers and not get paid extra for overtime. the new rules will take effect december 1st. on capitol hill there is a looming showdown over funding to battle the zika virus. the senate voted decisively in favor of a bipartisan $1.1 billion measure to fight the virus. but the house is expected today to approve a much smaller amount, 622 million. the white house wants nearly 2 billion and has threatened to veto. zika is expected to hit the u.s. this summer. still ahead an apology from the tsa and what's being done about those long airport lines.

a dramatic boat fire off malibu, california. two people and their dog were saved after their boat went up in flames. another boat rushed to the rescue. fireboats then put out the flames. no one was hurt and no word on what might have started that fire there. and hundreds of thousands of new york city workers are facing a nightmare commute this morning. take a look at this fire under

the tracks leading to grand central terminal and shut down metro north, the second busiest commuter railroad in the entire country. the fire was so intense it damaged some of the steel support beams. tens of thousands of commuters were stranded at grand central last night. many waiting hours to get home. as for the delays at chicago's o'hare airport the tsa says help is on the way. more than 50 additional agents are being sent to the airport after growing complaints about the long security lines there. passengers have been told to arrive three hours before their flights. the head of the tsa says he can't explain why o'hare has been hit so hard. facebook's ceo mark zuckerberg has an important meeting today at the social network's headquarters. more than a dozen top conservatives will discuss allegations facebook intentionally downplayed stories with conservative views. zuckerberg has denied an institutional bias and in a post last week he said he wants to be sure facebook stays as open as possible. apparently good economic news means bad news on wall

well, this is likely to be the scene again today in surf g savannah, georgia. city officials say the streets flood with even just normal rainfall. the infrastructure just can't handle it. drivers are likely to encounter wet or flooded roads throughout georgia and the southeast as well as in texas and surrounding states. they may find snow in the rockies and more showers in the pacific northwest. if you're flying, expect airport delays in dallas, houston, new orleans and miami. well, it is the morning's top story, bernie sanders is celebrating a victory in oregon. the race in kentucky is too close to call with hillary clinton holding a narrow lead of

less than 1% >> that's not stopping clinton from declaring victory. she turned to twitter to thank voters and call for unity. sanders' win did nothing to stop her march to the nomination, though she's now just 92 delegates shy of clinching. a colorado father is in critical condition this morning after being stabbed in a home invasion that was apparently a case of mistaken identity. police in golden stay three men knocked on the door of the family's house after being given the wrong address to get drugs and money. the father got into an altercation as his wife called 911. >> there are three guys of we have one of them down inside the house. he's been down. baby, you okay? oh, my god. we have two kids downtear ins the basement. >> the wife and children were not hurt. the husband was stabbed and is being hospitalized. one of the suspects is hospitalized with stab wounds a 17-year-old taken into custody and police till looking for the third suspect. true bravery on display in

anchorage, alaska as an officer and four citizens rescued a man whose arm was trapped underneath the burning car. the man scrambled away from the car. just moments later the whole thing burst into flames. u.s. prosecutors are getting involved in the international sports doping scandal. they've opened an investigation into alleged state sponsored dopes by dozens of russian leases and looking at officials as well as coaches and others who may have unfairly benefited from doping. it's believed conspiracy and fraud charges are being pursued. u.s. prosecutors are allowed to bring kays against foreigners living abroad if they have some connection to the u.s. one of russia's most recognizable athletes maria sharapova learns how long she will be banned from tennis. she failed a drug test at this year's australian open and admitted taking a heart disease medication that was declared

♪ all right, starting our wednesday morning "pulse" with a north carolina man who got more than he bargained for at a home improvement store. >> that's right. the man is now recovering after he was bitten by a 4 1/2-foot copperhead snake at a lowe's near charlotte. >> okay, so the man was rushed to the hospital and given anti-venom. doctors say he'll be in pain for quite a while but he's expected to be okay in the end. >> happy to hear that. next up an inspirational record-setting performance by a teenager doing pull-ups. 17-year-old andrew shapiro of northern virginia set three separate pull-up records last weekend. >> yeah, it was pretty impressive. those records were for the most in six hour, 1 hours and 24 hours. shapiro did just over 7300 pull-ups in that 24-hour period.

that by the way is more than 500 more than the previous record. >> wow. he said he was inspired by his father's successful five-year battle against colon cancer and a desire to one day appear on the tv show "american ninja warrior." while doing it he raised $4,000 for the american cancer society, as well. he's well on his way. >> and fuel that was pineapple and sushi. >> that's what i've been doing wrong this whole time. >> not enough pineapple and sushi. >> why do bananas. a visiting couple from poland made quite an impression at a london nightclub. the pair in their late 70s joined ravers on the floor for on the ground house and technonight. >> they arrived when it opened at 10 p.m. and stayed until closing at 5 a.m. the d.j. said they started off with two tequila shots but switched to tea.
