ill-fated egypt air flight 804. blimp down, you don't usually see this along a busy philadelphia thoroughfare. a glimpse of the commodor barry bridge. it's gloomy and gray. the people are excited it's the weekend, but it's a going to rain. >> reporter: more rain in the forecast today, and a couple of showers in the forecast for sunday. the weekend as a whole not looking very good. next weekend looks better. that's memorial day, i'll talk about that in a minute. in the meantime, let's flip it over to the numbers. 60 degrees in philadelphia. trenton, 57. dover, 58. millville, 58. you can see the yellows and oranges and reds all the way

down to baltimore where the preakness stakes takes place this afternoon. it should get in here within the next couple of hours. the close-up view shows the moderate rain falling from route 1, dover, to newark, wilmington looks like you're dry, but the rain line is knocking on the door. into south jersey, route of 49 everybody is in the clear, south of their we're seeing patchy drizzle for southern salem and current and cape may county in south jersey. the day planner looks like it's mainly cloudy and showers to the south. 60 degrees, by late morning we'll see the steadier rains arrive that continues throughout the afternoon. 1:00 p.m., 63. 3:00 p.m., 58. by 5:00 p.m., we're back down to 57 degrees. the call from accuweather, periods of rain, becomes windy down the shore, some of the rain will be heavy at times. high temperature around 63 degrees. when i come back in just a minute i'll let you know when

this clears and we're talking 80s in the seven-day forecast. you can find the seven-day forecast and live look at double scan radar at 6abc.com/weather. it is 9:02. right now police are looking for a shooter and a motive in the killing of a 18-year-old in north philadelphia. the shots were fired along 3300 block of north 13th street late last night. police say they found more than two dozen shell casings. the 18-year-old was shot in the back of the head and died. two other men were shot and sure vieived. survived. the victim just celebrated his birthday. a suspect is in custody after a high-speed chase in the logan section. when the officer approached the car police say the man tried to run the officer down before taking off. there was a chase and police helicopter was called in. the suspect ended up wrecking

his car in north philadelphia. police say he tried to runaway, but officers eventually caught him. and now to the developing story overseas the first images of debris from egypt air flight 804 is coming in. abc's matt gutman has more on the picture also and the -- pictures and search site in the mediterranean sea. the first pictures of the 804. the grim hall with the twisted recipes of metal with the egypt air logo. you can see the part of a child at backpack. the shredded and water logged remains of the seat. the french pilot said the area was littered with debris. it is from flight 804. the egyptian military said the debris included airline seats, luggage and personal possessions and body parts.

the ships are picking up what they can. it's an international effort with u.s. planes flying over the search areas and european satellites pitching in producing this image which could be an oil slick from the plane 25 miles from the domed flight last known possession. the seas are relatively flat. the winds are low. these are ideal conditions for the search operations. the question is what's happening on the surface of the water, what's happening 10,000 feet below. the plane went down in an area with a deep trerch -- trench sonar carrying ships to pick up the pings. this man was stricken with grief. he lost four family members. that was abc's matt gut man

working to find out why a blimp, you see here crash landed along the delaware river in philadelphia. this all happened last night just off i-95 in fishtown. the aircraft touched down on delaware avenue and got blown into an industrial area at beach and richmond streets and ended up wrapped afternoon a utility pole. philadelphia police received numerous calls. 26th district, air emergency coming out location of delaware avenue and beach street. blimp coming out of the sky. two people were on the blimp blimp. they were not hurt, faa and ntsb are investigating. we turn to the race for the white house, bernie sanders is in a cash crunch as he tries to snatch the presidential nomination away from hillary clinton. the latest election commission filings reveals sanders had less

joe hill is the mastermind behind the illusion. the mural creates the illusion that guests are teetering on the edge of the zoo while animals roam below. when you start in the right spot you take a picture and capture all the different elements of the zoo, animals, trailways and the interaction point a slide where people can slide into the picture. i've been doing this kind of artwork for 13 or 14 years. >> reporter: every photo taken with the mural and uploaded with the #sends the kid has a worthy cause. it means under served children can come to the zoo depending on how many pictures are shared. rick williams and cesily tynan has the changes at the

said he will never forget his selfless act during a summer program. he noticed a kid didn't have enough clothes and started giving him his and washing them and he didn't tell anyone about it, he was just, if he saw the right thing to do he would just do it. >> reporter: some of brandon's former classmates were getting grief counseling, among them, the 14-year-old son of this woman. i couldn't sleep all night. it's like my son, too, it's so tragic he was a wonderful kid. >> reporter: the question this morning was why was he so ruthlessly killed. a ten thousand dollar reward is being offered in the case. dann cuellar channel 6 "action news." following knew developments from the latest deadly plane crash. the first pictures have emerge from egypt air flight 804. smoke was detected in multiple places on the plane before it

plummeted. the cause of the crash remains unclear this morning. search crews are scouring for the plane's black boxes which could provide vital clues into the crash. something was up near the cockpit. it was either something mechanical or short circuit or incendiary device, as well. investigators are considering the possibility of a terror attack, but no militant group claims to have brought down the plane. pennsylvania state police believe drunk driving caused a fatal crash in chester county. one person died and four others were hurt an accident involving five vehicles including a tractor-trailer this happened around 9:30 on route 30 bypass near route 340. the bypass opened up after police investigated the crash. no word on the injured victims. solbury bucks county will

officers. we know one put in for the assignment now we have a significant amount of female officers. when it come to officers male female we all come here and do the same job. >> reporter: she lives at home with peyton and her father who is captain on the force. they talked about the importance of dogs like peyton who sniff out drugs. police department has 8 k-9s now and hope to have 12 or 150. peyton and camaccio have two roles. hugs and kisses and detecting narcotics. when she knows detecting narcotics she will be in the schools doing outreach. >> reporter: they graduate in

as we go round and round, rain off to the southwest. you can see the rain in the new castle county and heavier to steadier rains falling in malvern coatsville and lancaster. all this will shift to the east over the next few hours and make for a miserable saturday. here's the interesting thing i want to point this out, we haven't seen as much rain as you thought. if you take the last five months until today you take the rainfall totals for each month and add them up and stack them up against the average we're two inches below normal in the rainfall department. the problem is every single day over the last 4, 50, 6 weeks, it seems to be cloudy and at least a chance of patchy drizzle and couple of days you get a steadier rain. that's the problem. it's gray and gloomy. as far as the number itself it's below average. 63 degrees that's the forecasted

high. the normal is 75 we're nowhere near that. highs by the end of the week will be above average. 86 or 87 thursday afternoon. 50s for everybody september for the city and cape may where they are showing 60 and 61 respectfully. wind speeds are light out of the east/northeast 5 to 10 miles per hour. they will pick up for the jersey shore, sea isle city, avalon, cape may, wildwood, stone harbor, all the areas could see wind gusting between 20 and 30 miles per hour during the late afternoon hours. as we set it in motion for you, here's washington, d.c., baltimore, preakness stakes this afternoon, most of the heavier rain should be east of baltimore, but the track will be muddy. all this will continue east and over philadelphia shortly and keep raining throughout the afternoon hours in varying intensity, even though the low will pass on through here and get into the canadian maritimes

hopefully. in this week's "shelter me rescue of the week" story a hamster finds her best friend. >> reporter: for 17-year-old hannah it was love at first sight when she adopted moon stone on vld -- valentine's day this year. her one eye makes her a special needs hamster but that doesn't slow her down. she is loving ascertain she loves to be -- and she loves to be held. >> reporter: she is hannah's therapy pet. i struggle with depression it's somebody to take care of and love and hold on to. >> reporter: loving hamster rescue was founded three years ago and it is dedicated to saving the lives of the small creatures. a lot of people got them for their children as pets and

9:51, happening today a massive moving for nasa, a 66,000-pound space shuttle fuel tank is moving through the streets of los angeles now. the three story high tank is being shipped from marina delray to the science center and exhibition park. it looks like it is beginning to move again. it was stalled for a bit. the 16.5 mill trek will cause several street closures and expected to take 16 to 18 hours to make it to its destination. city and work crews will remove the lines and adjusting streetlights and traffic lights throughout the route. crews learned a lot transporting

the space shuttle endeavor back in 2012. it's very exciting. exiting indeed. back out live it is slowly making its way 16.5-mile journey. 16 to 18 hours. we are told that the utility lines will be going back up as the fuel tank passes by. quite the impressive sight to see in los angeles. a vietnam veteran has been reunited with his purple heart thanks to the kindness of another veteran. the medal fell from the truck as he was moving on thursday. the box was picked up by an army veteran. he served in iraq and afghanistan and pakistan. as soon as i opened up the purple heart box i seen there was a purple heart in there, i opened up the wooden box there was a set of dog tags in there. the lord had his hand in
