on "action news" this noon is developing in montgomery county. >> bill cosby is back in court for his preliminary hearing. a judge is deciding if there is enough evidence for the entertainer to stand trial on a sexual abuse charge. katherine scott is live with the latest. >> reporter: that is right. the purpose of today's preliminary hearing is to decide if the prosecution has enough evidence to proceed to trial. that is going on right now upstairs at the montgomery county courthouse with a lot of people closely watching. bill cosby is required to be here and here is video of him arriving today. notably absent is accuser, andrea constand, she is not required to be here for the preliminary hearing. instead a statement she made in 2005 can be relied upon and that is under appeal right now and

they pointed to her absence multiple times today and his inability to ask her questions during this hearing. we have heard from two witnesses, one is a detective that was assigned to the major crimes unit and was there for her statement. and the second is a cheltenham police chief there in 2005 for the statement. and they are keeping their commentary to the night that constand says she was drugged and sexually assaults at bill cosby's home. cosby calls the encounter con n consensu consensual. >> there is a lot of back and forth on whether it is relevant, they are questioning the statements she made and the judge says creditability is not an issue at a preliminary hearing. one person watching here in court is gloria allred.

she has several clientses accusing cosby of sexual misconduct. the defense is trying to call a witness but they are objecting. it's all underway right now at montgomery county court. >> katherine thank you. we have break news to report now. from montgomery county, chopper 6 hd is live right now over north penn high school for a fire reported inside of the school. chopper 6 hd is over the scene and you can see many students and faculty members on the grass there at the bottom of your screen. they have been evacuated. the call came in after 11:30 this morning. at is the school, that someone reported a fire in the school in the closet area and fire crew as rived moments later and they are still fighting the fire as you can tell at the center of your

screen. again, the school is evacuated at this hour because of a fire reported in the closet areast school. this high school is on south valley forge road, we'll keep an eye on this, and bring you more information as it becomes available to us. philadelphia police are questioning a person of interest following a deadly hit and run crash in the northeast. police say that alexis struck and killed a man at 1:00 a.m. the impact threw the victim 100 feet. witnesses say the driver got out and looked at molina and fled on foot leaving the car behind. annie mccormick will have reaction from the victim's family and more on the investigation coming up in the next half hour. an autopsy is underway after a man was found dead here in allento

allentown. firefighters discovered the man of the victim. the lehigh county da's office has joined in the investigation. accuweather is tracking possible showers and storms today. going live outside and for now it's nice and warm and conditions are turning muggy as we get close to memorial day weekend. lets head outside to david murphy. >> a few more clouds overhead right now, looking at stormtracker 6 live double scan the only place we see precipitation is over to the east around belmar and surf city, this is circulating down from the northern jersey coast and it will head out to sea before we get to atlantic city. that is probably the best chance of precipitation, to the east of philadelphia an area of low pressure off the coast continues to circulate away. you see the counterclockwise rotation as the low pulls off the coast of new york.

we have occasional clouds mixing with sun today and a shower or thundershower but mainly over to the east. 72 degrees in philadelphia and cooler in the city than other spots where the clouds are not as intense. allentown and out toward reading 76 degrees and wilmington 74 and 76 in lancaster and 64 in cape may and it stays cooler down the shore today. if you are headed out to the playground, sunscreen and cool drinks, and we are looking at enough sun will sunscreen is important if are you out hopping on the swing set, 77 by 2:00 and by 4:00, 79 that sour high today and that high is a couple of degrees below the average high of 76, nice and warm and the overnight low is 60 and several degrees above average. we'll be in the 80s tomorrow and by thursday the humidity creeping back i'll have details on all of that coming up in the

exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast for now it's overcast but comfortable out here. >> thank you david. in other news, the tsa security chief is out of a job this noon. kelly hogan will be replaced with a new head of security. his removal comes after backlash from massive security lines. kenneth moton is live with more on the shakeup. >> reporter: good afternoon rick, heads are rolling with air travelers and congress demanding answers and action. i can tell you that the tsa is revamping and reorganizing. >> the scramble to tackle long security lines at airport as frustrations are soaring. >> we missed our flight and we are told there is nothing they can do. kelly hogan is out. despite the show of support from the administrator a week ago. >> the voices of criticism, and congressional anger proved to be too much. it came to light and hogan received $90,000 in bonuses

since he has been at his post. and even after they failed to detect fake bombs and weapons last year. >> the bonuses are given to someone that oversees the part of the operation that was a total failure. >> they are better able to track the operations in places like chicago o'hare. in the past few days, weight times have plummeted since the tsa added more officers. summer air travel is expected to increase and security is only getting tighter. >> at the end of the day everyone has to travel and everyone has to be safe. you plan ahead and try to do whatever can you to deep things moving. >> congress will give tsa $30 million to pay overtime and hire more screeners by june 18th, it's a temporary solution when

air travelers are demanding a permanent fix. >> kenneth thank you. the tsa says travellers need to do their part to cut back on the lines as well. we want to update you on the breaking news story from montgomery county. chopper 6 hd is back over the scene of north penn high school. where firefighters continue to fight a blaze that apparently ignited inside of a closet in the school and a second alarm was struck. the fire is not yet under control, and the entire student body evacuates are waiting and taken to the soccer field they are waiting while school officials try to find transportation to get the students home safely. so the school evacuated and fire crews are on the scene fighting a fire at north pen high school

shows you we have a little precipitation by surf city and over to the north of atlantic city. as you take a look at the motion of this, it's light highlighted in the lighter shade of green, it's dropping down from the due south and maybe atlantic city picks up a sprinkle from that one coming over from land. but the widespread precip is off the coast. this is the best chance to see a shower or thunderstorm popping up later on. lets get you outside to the fairmount park. looking like summer and feeling a little like it too. 72 at the noon hour, winds up to 8 miles per hour. not all that strong out there. a little bit on the breezy side. temperatures across the region, even warmer in allentown and lancaster, 76 degree readings there and the farther south with cloud cover being thicker to the south and east. 73 in millville and 65 in cape may.

we may actually get 70 or so down at the shore for the first time in a while later though. notice the chance of precipitation today. it's all over to the east of philadelphia, yes, we could get a thunderstorm popping up here and there. you will always want to head inside if you hear the hundred. maybe tonight a bit of something to the east. but at the same time by 10:00, most of the area may be clearing out and evaporating the clouds, up in the lehigh valley, clouds and sun and not much chance of rain, 81 is your forecast high up north, down the shore, 72 degrees in atlantic city. we are stuck in the 60s by the cool ocean water for a while and the winds are such we'll draw warm air in today. clouds and sun and can't rule out a spotty shower at the coast. and 79 is your high in philadelphia with the clouds and sun mix and showers to the east and winds on the light side. for the evening commute, warm and 79 degrees, your high
