nomination. >> and more violence breaks outs in coatesville area high school we have the latest. but the big story is the search for a hit and run driver who struck a little boy on his bicycle. police have surveillance video of the collision and the suspect's vehicle. now they have to find the person behind the wheel. katherine scott is live with the update on the victim's condition. >> reporter: we are told that this little boy will be okay. he was taken to the hospital in stable can be. the search continues for the driver this afternoon. they saw this little boy riding up and down the block as he sometimes does and suddenly we heard a loud crash. >> my motherly instincts kicked in and i came out and held his hand. >> they heard a loud crash outside of their home and the surveillance cameras caught the moment when a toyota camry hit

the boy on his bicycle. >> i said lay still and be calm. >> he said i want mommy. >> it happened at 4:00 yesterday afternoon and after the collision the car kept going, the driver flipped the car inversion and past the little boy lying in the street and then the driver flees. >> he pulled of to the side of the street and did not stop or anything, and slammed the car in reverse and went down to the alley and drove away. >> the camry was recovered a few blocks from the scene and police say the child is a kindergartner and his mother came to the scene and he was taken by ambulance to the hospital. >> that was scary, poor little thing. >> police are working to determine who was behindle wheel. if you witnessed this accidents you are urged to call police. >> katherine thank you. firefighters are on the scene of a stubborn three alarm

nearly two dozen homeowners are picking up the pieces in kansas. a massive tornado damaged or destroyed 20 houses in dickinson county. it was on the ground for 90 minutes and swept through 23 miles, the tornado hit a rural area and missed a more populated town. crews are beginning to remove trees and opening a shelter for displaced families there. we are learning more information about a shootout at a concert in new york city.

we are trying to determine where the leak is located. but so far no evacuations have been reported but again this is the 1700 block of carpenter street in south philadelphia reports of a gas leak and they are investigating. we'll update this as information becomes available to us. a new study finds a disturbing cancer trend in a surprising age group. the jump occurs in people under 50 years old and that occurred in the last decade. and people older than 50 went down. researchers say that doctors should be more diligent for screening. women are told to get mammograms at age 40 and do it every year, and now change in the guidelines, tamala edwards explains in today's art of the

stormtracker 6 live double scan showing that we are dry right now. we are looking pretty good. i think most areas stay dry today and it's a good one out there. you like it hot and horses seem to. we look at fairmont park. we are out at mccarthy stables, they look like they are having fun and munching on hay and lots of sunshine, it's beautiful out there and warm and sticky. look at the current numbers, the temperature is 83 degrees and normal high is 77 and we have surpassed. the dew point 57 that is not terrible. it will feel a touch more humid than yesterday. the ocean temperature a cold 57 degrees. satellite 6 along with action radar showing we have high, thin clouds through the morning and we see how they really broke up. we have showers that tried to work our way into the region and fell apart as they did. you get the idea there is a weak

and how about the big holiday weekend? saturday is the best day especially at the shore, beautiful sunshine and it stays dry. 74 on the beach season warmer than that in the poconos, 84 degrees and a slight chance for a shower or thunderstorm. on sunday we may see a shower or thunderstorm in one or two spots but mostly dry. 74 on the beach and 82 in the poconos. but it looks like the best chance to see a couple of showers or passing thunderstorm would be on monday, on memorial day itself. watch for that, at this point it doesn't look like a washout. but mostly cloudy skies and a sure or two. 67 degrees at the shore and the poconos looking for a high of 73 degrees. here is your exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, as you get ready for the big holiday weekend and warm and humid today and 89 for your high and mostly dry, tomorrow hot and humid and 98 degrees with a passing shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon. saturday hot and humid and 90 for your high and it looks beautiful on saturday.
