"action news" was at the vfw post 1 in wilmington. all across the area parades and ceremonies are honoring those who gave their lives for our freedom. surveillance cameras could help find the shooter who killed a man in southwest philadelphia this morning. the 30-year-old victim was shot multiple times in the head in a van at 52nd and woodland avenue. it was a violent night in the city of trenton. 6 people are in the hospital after two separate shootings first happened before 1:00 a.m. in the 600 block of martin luther king boulevard in that incident four people were hit by gunfire. around 1:30 a.m., trenton police responded to a shooting of two

people at a corner grocery store in the 200 block of spring street. all victims were taken to capital health regional medical center. a rider taking part in the cow town rodeo has died from injuries he received in the accident last night. the bare back rider was trampled during the the event. cow town was contacted they had no comment. torrential rains caused mass flooding in texas. two people died and four missing. that state is not out of the woods just yet. elizabeth hur has the latest. >> reporter: this will be a memorial day weekend of bad memories for so many in texas. flood waters chasing them from their homes. we got what we could and left. watching the water, have nowhere to go. >> reporter: always streets became rivers they dialed 911.

we got ahold of the fire department this morning and they came by at 8:00 a.m. and got us. >> reporter: firefighters went door to door rescuing people from the rising waters. this man was removed on a stretcher. up to 16 inches of rain in 24 hours washing out roads and submerging cars. at least four dead after days of violent storms. in wichita an 11-year-old boy is missing after being swept away after he fell into a creek trying to cross it. this family heading to their son's graduation by boat. i have all his stuff, cap and gown here. >> reporter: in the southeast they are bracing for tropical storm bonnie set to hit south carolina. high winds and high surf have the lifeguards on high alert, the big concern potentially deadly rip tides. it's a little chop, a little rough, but not terrible. i think it will get worse.

coast of charleston, south carolina. these are the tropical systems you want to see, the ones that produce beneficial rains and no wind damage. that's what's reported here. they have seen rough surf and rip tide, but only 3 to 4 inches of rain throughout a 24 hour period. which has not caused much flooding or much in the way of wind with this. all this will move northward and into the delaware and lehigh valleys to pretty much ruin your memorial day. future tracker 6, increasing clouds, clouds lower and thicken throughout the evening hours. 7:00 p.m. this model has the area rain-free. accuweather suggests there could pop ups around south jersey and delaware and the delaware bay region. regardless it will move in after midnight tonight. 9:00 a.m. it's coming down like cats and dogs across the philadelphia area. the i-95 metro from wilmington

to trenton. when we start seeing maroons and deep roads and the magenta color there, that means rainfall rates are one to two inches an hour. that's a downpour. we're seeing that through the afternoon memorial day. hopefully it clears out by late afternoon and we start the drying process. memorial day itself will be cloudy and damp with the heavy downpours. rain arrives tonight probably in the form of showers early between 7:00 a.m. and -- 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. it transitions to downpours. one to two inches of rain expected, but there could heavier months that could cause flash flooding issues in poor drainage and low-lying areas. this future tracker 6 model has 4 inches of rain when all is

is 50 miles per hour southeast of charleston, south carolina. maximum sustained winds are 45 to 50 miles per hour. it's not a wind storm it's producing beneficial rains for the carolinas. heavier rains expected across the i-95 corridor from richmond to new york city. you can see the outer bands working inland across cape hatteras and wilmington. clouds in the afternoon. after 6:00 p.m. that's when showers could start popping up to our south, south of philadelphia. but this particular model keeps us dry through 7:00 p.m. accuweather says allow for a couple of showers. after midnight tonight that's when the heavier downpours start moving on in. they will stin through -- contie through the morning hours into the first participant of the afternoon. -- participant of the part of the afternoon. in the evening hours, all the rain will be off the coast,
