underway at a pennsylvania gas station. and new documents outline the allegations of fraud at trump university. but the investigation that seventy a bullet into a hospital facility. a suspect fired a shot at another vehicle. now they are trying to determine why the officer used his gun. katherine scott is live with the latest. >> reporter: it's early on but they are hearing from this off duty officer, he opened fire because he thought the driver was reaching for a weapon. whether or not there was a gun in the car remains under investigation. the 20th district officer had just gotten off of work and was riding this miami at broad and philadelphia in tioga. when he and a turning car

crashed. the off duty officer was knocked off his bike and started to walk towards the car and that is when he told police he thought he saw a weapon, and fired three shots. >> when he was identifying himself as a police officer. the suspect reached for his console and thought he saw a weapon. >> for hours police searched for the other vehicle and then early this morning, the driver of this dark green chevy monte carlo turned himself in. police taped off his car on fair hill, front end damage and a bullet hole in the side. and a police vehicle sat outside of his home and the driver wasn't hurt. as for the off duty officer he was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries. >> it's fortunate that nobody was injured because of this, you

don't know where the bullets will land. >> the driver is still being questioned by detectives and internal affairs are also investigating. and we heard that temple cameras captured this incident. katherine scott, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. a uber vehicle struck and killed a woman in what police are calling a tragic accident. on the 2200 block of cecil b. moore avenue. the driver hit the woman after walking between two parked cars and stepping into the street. the uber driver stopped to be interviewed by authorities. detectives say one person was killed at the getty mart at west greenwood street. another victim was shot and is expected to survive.

federal investigators are heading to chester county following a mishap involving a small plane. police say that the small plane crashed through a hangar at 9:00 this morning. chopper 6 hd through over the scene and spotted a gaping hole in the side of the building. officials believe that the plane was trying to take off when it lost power. >> the aircraft went through and into the hangar where it remains and it didn't come out the other side and stayed in there and it missed other vehicles inside so it was fortunate. the pilot and passenger were inside and expected to be okay. rules for medical marijuana in the state of pennsylvania, are being laid out in harrisburg, state secretary of health, karen murphy says it will take up to two years to make the medical marijuana for the keystone state.

governor wolf signed the bill into law in april and that means that patients can take marijuana in pill, ointment or liquid form but cannot obtain marijuana to smoke or grow. sky 6 hd looking at center city. another warm and sunny day out there. david murphy is tracking the conditions on the terrace. >> it's toasty and a tad humid over a portion of the region, take a look at satellite. first of all there is little pronounced cloud cover, high and thin over at the coast. cumulous clouds popping up at times and warm conditions, up to 85 in philadelphia currently, and 82 in allentown and 84 in wilmington. down in millville. 84 and down the shore 74 degrees in cape may. i want to show you dew points. when you get a number over 60 it

hillary clinton with a slight lead over donald trump as he faces allegations of fraud at trump university. stephanie ramos has more from washington. >> just a day after donald trump answered questions about the money he raised for veterans. he is answering questions about his namesake university. >> he except time aggressively answers questions about the money he raised for veterans. >> instead of thank you very mr. mr. trump or trump did a good job. everybody is like who got it? you make me look bad. he raised almost $6 million for an ohio event and giving $1 million himself. that was less than he stated. >> project for patriots, $100,000. >> after dealing with controversy over the charities, it turned to a probe into allegations of fraud at trump

a search crew looking for the crashed egypt airplane has picked up signals in the mediterranean sea, and officials confirm they are from one of the black boxes, a french ship detects them overnight. and they hope it will shed light on what caused the plane to crash last month. and troopers claim to have stopped an attack at a museum. authorities say the suspect was holding a knife to a woman's throat and threatening her life. she escaped with minor injuries after an attacker was shot to death and the museum was packed with tourists when the drama unfolded. >> important to note there was a lot of witnesses at the high desert museum. it was tuesday afternoon and we had school children present. >> fortunately police do not

study about teenage drivers, the aaa foundation for traffic safety found that 60% of teen crashes are caused by distracted driving and cell phones are not the number one problem. the top distraction for teens is other passengers, accounting for 16% of teen accidents, compared to 12% of cell phone distraction. and a cell phone in a high speed chase literally ended up in hot water. >> he is in our jacuzzi honey -- >> the police found the suspect passed out in the jacuzzjacuzzi. the homeowners were shocked to see police with guns drawn outside of their window and found the man floating in 104 degree water and was there for at least 30 minutes with the covered pulled down. the man was booked on multiple felony charges.

if you like yesterday you'll love today. according to meteorologist, david murphy, can i quote you? >> i'm not sure you got it. but double scan live radar no signs of rain out there. there is independence hall and it looks like we have some tourists walking around on the grass and enjoying the sunshine earlier this morning. cool drinks are probably selling well at the mall today because we are on the warm side. 85 currently and your dew point up at 65 and anything over 60 indicates humid air. the farther north you go the less you feel. winds are light and not much relief there. only 10 miles per hour. 82 in allentown un83 in reading

and 85 in philadelphia, 82 in trenton and 84 in wilmington and down closer to the coast cooler and 72 in cape may and more humid as you go to the southern reaches, as we look at satellite, not a lot of significant cloud cover, a little high, thin cirrus every now and then. as we look at the lehigh valley valley forecast, the farther north you go up in the lehigh valley. and cool drinks if you are working or working out. down the shore it is stickier and not as warm. a high of 74 degrees, pleasant on the beach and the boardwalks. and stickier the closer you get to the coast. in philadelphia, a warm high this afternoon of 88 degrees, mostly sunny and humid and winds from the east at 6 to 12 miles per hour. if you head to the stadiums, if the phillies will beat the nationals you'll look at a few

clouds and 80 for first pitch and 70 in the ninth. getting down to 50 tonight in outlying suburbs and winds comfortable and variable not all that strong. tomorrow a decent day, high of 80 with a mix of clouds and suns and we'll look out for the front comes in late thursday into and into friday. we'll see a spotty shower out of that and maybe a couple of thunderstorms, it doesn't look like a washout on friday but it's unsettled. the most significant amount of rain is coming on sunday. if you have the chance to be up late tonight and looking towards the south-southeast sky, you may get a look at mars, it will be at its closest approach in 11 years, the highest in the sky at midnight. that bright star in the south-southeast. the next several nights is planet mars. let me know if you see cannon fire on the surface.
