working to free a 71-year-old man who fell into the grain around 2:00 p.m. we believe they may have just rescued him seconds before we came on air here at 6:00. now at one point he was up to his chest in grain. chopper6 was over the huge rescue operation using multiple ladder trucks from the chesterfield and surrounding areas. i spoke with a woman who identified herself as the man's wife and she tells me that he is conscious and that crews stabilized him in a cage to prevent him from slipping any further. but because of the extreme pressure against him, the grain needed to be drained before they could pull him out. now, his wife says the man's name is chris probasco. he's a 71-year-old who has been farming all his life. now rescue crews right now, if you come back live, you may be able to see the gentleman being wheeled into the ambulance behind him. it appears he might be right behind the truck here. the ambulance it looks like from a different vantage

point. he is in fact being wheeled into the chesterfield township ambulance right now. this was about a three and a half hour operation to get him out of the silo and this wife describes this as a very dangerous spot here on the farm. in fact, she says it is the most dangerous spot here on the farm. so, we are back out here live. they have just rescued the 71-year-old man who has been in that silo trapped in grain for nearly four hours here on the probasco farms on sykesville road in chesterfield township. we're reporting live in chesterfield township, new jersey, jeff chirico, channel6 "action news." >> thank you jeff. here's the latest on a confrontation between an armed bandit and a pharmacy owner in levittown. it happened during the attempted robbery of a pharmacy this morning in the 8500 block of new falls road. it is pretty clear the thief didn't anticipate that the pharmacist would also have a gun. but he did and he used it.

"action news" reporter chad prad teal is live apradelli is . >> reporter: jim the pharmacy owner turned the tables on these would be thieves killing one of the suspects and as bucks county district attorney david heckler put it this would be thief, the one that was killed got what he deserved and this pharmacy owner did law enforcement a favor. >> fellow asked for what he got and he got it. >> reporter: his accomplice didn't survive but tim goldsboro d this afternoon he was charged with homicide for the killing of his alleged co-couldn't spear torment it happened around 10:00 this morning inside the pennsbury pharmacy. pharmacy owner kenneth lee watched on his surveillance system as the two suspects backed this minivan into the parking lot out front. >> he then saw a subject exiting the passenger side of the van wearing were a mask. >> reporter: lee saw an umbrella and a shot gun. he then grabbed his own gun as

the masked suspect entered the pharmacy. >> the owner yelled to him several times i am armed. do not come into the store. the subject then began to run towards the owner. >> reporter: lee opened fire killing the suspect. police say goldsboro who was in the get away vehicle didn't hear the gunfire and police quickly arrested him. police are asking for the public's help with identifying the dead suspect. they released a photo of this distinctive tattoo of a devil hoping someone will recognize it. as for lee, he was questioned and released. customers call him a gentleman. >> he's devastated. he has to go back home and tell his family what happened and he's devastated. >> everything that we see at this point, this poor gentleman that poured his heart and soul to open this store lone employee had no choice but to do what he d law protecting himself and his business. >> reporter: and if you know that man with that tattoo, call falls township police. i'm live in falls township, chad pradelli channel6 "action

news." jim. >> thank you, chad. philadelphia attorney turned himself in today and now faces charges for an assault is at a center city starbucks. 47-year-old yvonne montgomery is accused of throwing coffee on another woman. montgomery allegedly then punched and pulled the victim's hair. the incident happened april 25th at the starbucks at 16th and arch. montgomery is charged with terroristic threats simple assault and disorderly conduct. the woman who stole award winning artwork from a chester county art gallery will serve time in jail. a judge has sentenced 33-year-old bree distefano to 23 months behind bars. distefano was a sales manager at steve mcmurray -- make that mccurry's gallery in exton. she pleaded guilty in april to stealing $650,000 worth of art. that included this, a copy of mccurry's famous afghan girl which graced the cover of national geographic.

most of the art was recovered after being sold on the black-market. a gas leak shut down a busy intersection in cherry hill this morning. authorities say a contractor struck a gas line at 9 o'clock at chapel avenue and cooper landing road. crews did cap the leak. fortunately no one had to be evacuated. atlantic city's baeder field is going on the auction block. america's first municipal airport shut down 10 years ago. closed auction bids are due on july 14th. the airport is among 120 city owned properties going up for sale. those properties will be up for auction on june 23rd at the atlantic city convention center. so, what happens when business sad world comicon and philadelphia beer week hit the city at the same time? the situation simply challenges the imagination. >> yesterday we introduced to you a bear that was hanging out in a back regard in central new jersey. as it turns out this wasn't the only bear making its presence known in the tri-state area. celebrated quite a milestone today. samuel k. faust elementary school in bensalem turned 60 years old today. the days events included the reveal of a 60th anniversary mural. two students who won a essay contest also got to place their essays in a time capsule. students from northeast philadelphia made preparations today for a space flight simulation. it is part of project spark. the space research center at the school. this year's simulated mission has kids studying the martian moon of fobos. today the students also showed off a robotics equipment there they've constructed to explore the moon. in new york state. ♪

horticulture and no doubt the farm benefitd from today's on-off wet friday. >> got some showers this morning and heading into the weekend it's looking unsettled especially late on sunday. not a washout but sunday afternoon could get very stormy. storm tracker6, though, live double scan showing that we've cleared the air from the showers this morning. still a lot of clouds left over but we're live on sky6 taking a look in cape may where we are seeing some hazy sunshine, little bit on the breezy side in cape may. it's not going to be a perfect beach weekend but i think we'll still manage to squeak out some areas of sunshine especially tomorrow. i am highlighting sunday because sunday is when you really have to be weather aware. the severe storm prediction center has put areas really south and west of philadelphia in an enhanced risk of severe weather. what this means is that any storm could have damaging winds, hail, even the potential for an isolated tornado and the rest of our area under a slight risk of

severe weather. so, the key timing with the main squall line could have some scattered activity before that but the main squall line looks to be moving through between about 4:00 in the afternoon and 9:00 in the evening on sunday. what this means is that we'll see strong to severe storms, winds could gust more than 60 miles per hour. that's the main threat but we could have some heavy downpours up to 2-inches of rain that could cause some localized flooding. the air mass is really juicy ahead of this system. right now temperatures holding in the 70's with all the clouds, 74 degrees in philadelphia. the same in allentown. wilmington 75. millville 72. and down the shore, cape may with that wind off the ocean -- the ocean temperature has warmed up to 66. the air temperature currently 67 degrees. so, satellite6 along with action radar showing we have a weak cold front that's really limping across central pennsylvania, mainly just some clouds associated with this and that front will stall to the south tomorrow. the main event for sunday is this powerful low pressure.

it's moving into the midwest. what this will do is drag a cold front through on sunday evening and that's what will spark the potential for severe weather. so, tonight your friday night, not a perfect night but just lots of clouds. it will be muggy with some areas of fog especially areas like chester county that got the heavy rain this morning. 63 degrees the low in the suburbs, 66 for center city and tomorrow not a bad day. but with that front to the south lots of clouds especially south of philadelphia, so the warmer temperatures actually will be to the north. allentown 85. reading 86. philadelphia 84. lots of clouds with some peeks of sunshine. possibility of a pop-up shower in the afternoon. mainly south of philadelphia and there also temperatures will be cooler. cape may 74. and dover 79 degrees. heading into sunday, we have a warm front moving through in the morning. so that will bring some showers, perhaps a few heavy downpours early in the day. then we get some breaks of sunshine with some pop-up storms in the afternoon around

2:30. any of these could have some gusty winds and then that main event rolling in late in the day on sunday and sunday evening. this shows right along the i-95 corridor by 7:30 pushing off coast by 10:00. everything clears out by monday. so, if you are down the shore, we're looking at lots of clouds, some peeks of sunshine tomorrow at 74 degrees. gusty thunderstorms on sunday and the poconos tomorrow looking okay but the threat of some heavy downpours for the races on sunday. so, the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, clouds with some sunshine tomorrow. the high will be warm and muggy, 84 degrees. on sunday, humid with strong thunderstorms, 81. monday lowering humidity, 82. our next cold front brings us some thunderstorms on tuesday, 83 degrees and behind that system, very comfortable on wednesday and thursday, temperatures dropping down into the 70's and i will have an update on the timing of the storms coming up tonight on "action news" at 11:00. >> all right cecily. finally tonight several delaware residents were honored this afternoon in wilmington for their hard work
