waking up with us, it is 7:00 a.m., saturday, june 4. here's some of the stories we're following on "action news," the death of a legend, muhammad ali has died. we'll look back at his life and legacy. two people are trapped after a driver losing control and hits two parked cars overnight. today is the bright spot in the forecast even though it's not that bright as we keep our eye on severe weather moving our way. chris sowers has the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, it's a dirty sky out there, right, chris. >> reporter: you beat me to the punch on that, we're looking at sunshine later on this afternoon. warm and sticky. 70 degrees in allentown and

reading. 67 in philadelphia. trenton, 66. dover, 66. shorepoints checking in at 64 in cape may and 65 in atlantic city satellite and radar a stalled out frontal system off to the scene between richmond and washington, d.c. close enough to produce cloud cover today with peeks of sun. with the heating of the day there could be a pop-up shower or thunderstorm. so doesn't look like a big deal, but one or two areas, the skies may turn a little threatening later on. future tracker of by lunchtime look at the clearing for south jersey and the jersey shore and the state of delaware. we are expecting sunshine, sunny breaks there. by afternoon there goes the showers and pop-up thunderstorms developing. flaring up with the heating. if you see a shower or thunderstorm it will last 20, 25 minutes that's about it. and then they are on their way. overnight tonight it's cloudy. things get interesting tomorrow. day planner, 82 degrees by

in the hospital suffering from respiratory problems. he started training at 12 years old. he defeated the legendary sunny liston. his glory days a croaferl period in his -- controversial period in his life. he changed his name and refused to participate in the vietnam draft. back in the ring his undefeated professional record came to an end in 1971 when he lost to joe frazier in the fight of the century. he would get a revenge in the rematch in manila. his last fight was in 1981. he was diagnosed with parkinsons disease.

muhammad ali lived here in the area, he had homes in green hill families of a city avenue between haverford and lancaster avenues and he lived in cherry hill, new jersey. former pennsylvania state boxing commissioner, was involved with the restoration of his boyhood home in kentucky. another local tie boxering legend joe -- boxing legends joe frazier death him his first professional loss. we'll have that on "good morning america" and special edition of 20/20 on 6abc. two men are recovering from a crash hitting two parked vehicles in north philadelphia. the driver lost control around 2:30 a.m. the car eventually plowed into

two parked vehicles. firefighters had to free both the driver and his passenger. they are both listed in stable condition. police arrested 32-year-old michael mostavlian on child pornography a may not man in the monroe -- maintenance man in the williamstown middle school through a fraudulent facebook account. he was arrested on friday. a student has admitted to setting fire to a school in tall tallowamencin develop. the fire spread and caused $800,000 to the school and band instruments. lawmakers in pennsylvania have introduced bills that would

increase gun safety around children. democrats talked about the legislative package that includes various measures to insure guns are stored in a secure locker with a secure trigger when a minor is around. we think of the gravity of the numbers, thousands of children's a year, the legislation we're talking about would save lives. philadelphia city council advanced its own legislation that would require all firearms to be secured in homes with children under the age of 18. from our new jersey newsroom this morning, the former showboat casino will open its doors next month. you will no longer be able to place your bets there, bart blattstein plans to open it as a hotel only. it was one of the atlantic city

paris is packing up 250,000 pieces of artwork to save them from rising floodwaters. the swollen river is overflowing. a flood watch is posting this morning for the eastern half of the texas which includes houston and dallas. several inches of rain is expected there. you may remember nine soldiers were killed in a weather-related crash near fort hood, texas. swollen rivers are receding and rain could send in more rising

waters later on. >> reporter: folks if texas, seems like it's flooding everywhere. it's the 4th time this year they are measuring rain in feet in texas. that's one of the areas in the country that desert and dry. they have been dealing with hefty rain on and off. plus, back heme we're dealing with cloud cover and patchy fog. this is the view from the temple university camera. it's hard to make out the visibility there. low visibility and low ceiling this morning. we're expecting sunshine this afternoon. 67 degrees in philadelphia. muggy. dewpoint, 63. once we get into the mid 60-degree range it will be humid. pressure is holding steady. winds are light out of the southeast at 3 miles per hour. it wasn't a bad week. it was warm, 88 degrees tuesday. wednesday we hit 90. thursday, 84. yesterday was one of the cooler days, but muggy, 76 degrees.

it was a warm and humid week around the delaware valley. that 90-degree day that's the 4th time so far this year now that we have hit 90-degree or higher in the city of philadelphia. on any typical or any typical year on average we see 24 days of 90 degrees or higher. the prediction this year from accuweather we're expecting 32 days this summer where we hit 90-degree or higher. so far we've seen four. we're well on our way. the good news there are no 90s in the forecast. next week the temperatures pull back to the 70s. 07 in allentown. philadelphia, 67. trenton, 66. millville, 63. cape may, 64. here's satellite and radar we're expecting cloud cover out there today. there's more activity to the west. one or two areas could pick up a stray shower or thunderstorm. most of us will stay dry. very, very isolated stuff.

4:00 p.m., it's probably sunny down the shore clouds and that includes south jersey and delaware. isolated shower possible north and west. overnight tonight, cloudy, patchy fog developing again, tomorrow we'll see a series of frontal systems pull through the region. the first one arrives in the morning, that's a warm front. it brings showers and storms you'll see more coverage than what the model is showing. late in the day, the cold front slides through that triggers the hefty round of thunderstorms. this has the potential to produce damaging winds gusts and isolated tornados. here's what the storm prediction center suggests from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. this is the time frame where you have to pay attention closely to the radars. strong to severe weather is possible, gusts up to 60 or 65 miles per hour. a good bet in the line. there could individual storms in the line that rotates tore produce a spin.

the hospital after being shot outside a party in north philadelphia. police say a 19-year-old, 18, and 16-year-old were shot during a dispute. dozens of people scrambled for cover as the shots were fired in the 2200 block of north 12th street. the 19-year-old was critically injured. the other two are in stable condition. investigators have not reported on any arrests, but are talking to witnesses. new overnight, a car crash destroyed a garage in christiana delaware. firefighters were called to free the driver that was trapped in the wreckage. police say the car hit several parked cars before you plowing into the garage on duning coulter. the driver was taken to christiana hospital and expected to survive. you because of -- the cause of s being determined. tim goldsboro is charged

waking up, the fog is starting to lift waking up to sunshine. it's going to be nice down there, if you're first thing -- figuring out your plans and heading to the jersey shore, nice sea breeze and temperatures in the 70s. we run the risk of shower or thunderstorm today, but not enough to ruin your plans. tomorrow is a different story. allentown, 72. upper 60s for the nier -- i-95 corridor. dewpoints are in the mid 60s according to the scale once we break that mark it starts to become a little more humid. we get into the mid 60s you start to feel that. all these numbers will continue to increase as the day wears on. warm and sticky that's the call from accuweather today. satellite and radar a thin overcast across western and central portion the keystone state this morning that will shift east.

we're expecting more clouds and sun from inland locations. from wildwood to atlantic city it's the opposite. more sun than clouds. it's a nice day. inlands locations, one or two areas you pick up a quick-hitting shower or brief thunderstorm. we get into tomorrow morning, first a warm front pulls through and a cold front pulls through during the evening. here's the warm front we'll see a little more activity with what the model is showing, 7:38. most of the day is cloudy, peeks of sunshine, very, very sticky. during the evening hours you may get a renegade cell developing ahead of the main line. this is the main event. the cold front from 5 to 9:00 p.m. west to east. this could produce very heavy thunderstorms to the tune of 60 to 65-mile an hour winds, one to two inches of rain, numerous cloud to ground lightning strikes. you get the idea there's a lot of weather once that punches

through. once it hits the coast humidity levels drop off. here's the warm front right here, it will bring downpours to parts of the area. most of the day is actually okay until we get into the evening hours when the cold front marches through and we have to watch out for the downpours an thunderstorms again. here's what we're concerned about for sunday from the storm prediction center in norman oklahoma. one to two inches of rain that could produce localized flooding. strong gusty winds, 60 to 65 miles per hour. there's a moderate risk for large hail and tornados. hopefully you're making your outdoor plans today as opposed for tomorrow. tomorrow the weather goes downhill quickly. thunderstorms possible, 85 degrees is the high. winds light out of the south southwest 5 to 10 miles per hour. in the mountains be on the look out for a stray thunderstorm.
