is off, karen rogers joins us with the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. not the greatest news for the cyclists, right? >> reporter: we're starting off with clouds you can see that looking at the center city skyline. we have showers moving through the area, but the big weather threat comes this afternoon and into this evening. storm tracker 6 live double scan showing we have light showers in the region starting to develop. this is is not severe weather, but it's damp. you can see it on route 1, media. the blue route, woodbury, new jersey and route 40 in elmer right now. we can look elsewhere around the region as we watch the progression north an east. we're seeing rain moving into fortescue and cape may and the beach showers are moving in. satellite and radar you can see how the showers moved in. the actual front is well out to the west.

as the warm front lifts through the region it will trigger showers in the morning and the big weather threat comes this afternoon and even. 68 degrees. it is warm in the city. 64 dewpoint. 64 in millville. over 60 you start to feel the humidity. up to 65 it's humid. 68 in dover, 67 in wilmington. these high dewpoints are going to help destabilize the atmosphere. that gives us the enhanced risk for severe weather this afternoon and evening. mostly cloudy skies, morning showers, but we're watching throorch and evening for -- this afternoon and evening for strong storms. we'll show you what the storms look like as they hit the area on future trash -- future tracker 6. two-alarm fire destroyed part of a medical complex in bucks county.

say a car crash caused this massive brushfire yesterday northwest of los angeles, hundreds of people were forced to evacuate their homes. three homes were damaged. firefighters say the fire is 15% contained. this morning we are learning that one of the fort hood soldiers killed during a training exercise and flooding was from jersey city. 21-year-old james and 8 others were killed when their vehicle was swept into rushing waters. texas authorities say the flooding emergency near the guferl -- gulf coast is worsening. east coast is bracing for severe weather. florida could see between five and ten inches of rain. time for accuweather, karen rogers is here for chris sowers. we are expecting rain. we have light showers moving in now. the worst threat is this this afternoon.

showers have moved in. this is the warm front that lifted through the area. the cold front that produced the severe weather is out to the west at this point. future tracker 6 this model is picking up heavier downpours at 9:00. we have a threat for the showers becoming downpours later on this morning. and then we advance this to 11:30, not much happening lots of clouds, maybe a shower popping through. later today if we get sunshine help destabilize the atmosphere a little more. this model showing at 4:30, we're tracking the chance for severe weather. you see that line showing heavy downpours and the real threat could be very gusty winds. we're watching for this right now and that could be it later on this afternoon into the evening at midnight tonight a couple of leftover showers. the threat is later this afternoon and evening, heavy downpours and the possibility for damaging winds.

this morning the sports world is mourning the champion heavyweight fighter, muhammad ali. two legendary local boxers are among them. here's jeff skeverski. champions are not made in gym. they are they are made from a desire, dream, vision, that's muhammad preached and practiced. he trained against the biggest fights of his life joe frazier and george foreman in deer lake, pennsylvania a small town in the poconos. it was out of the light and peaceful where he trained with a young larry holmes. he lived in philadelphia and cherry hill in the 1970s made an impact on the world and the local boxing scene before he passed away friday at the age of 74. i look at all ali has done and stood up for in and out of

streets that could lead to trouble. local police officers are working to change this. they are calling this the summer initiative. it could be the community policing at its best, it will include field trips for teenagers. these 9th district police officers could show up at your door promoting the summer youth initiative program. the goal to provide kids with something productive to do over the summer. we need more programs for like this. >> reporter: it didn't take long for passionate residents to support positive initiatives. if you don't show them this is what you're going to do they will do the opposite. >> reporter: summer is a hot time for kids to get into trouble. he is hoping this initiative will motivate them to get off the streets and see officers in a positive light. everybody wins here. they will come away with a like, police are cool.
