philadelphia is under a severe thunderstorm warning right now. >> taking a live look right here from over center city, you can see the dam ominous clouds hanging over the skyline. rain is beginning to fall. meteorologist melissa magee joins us tracking the storms with the first check of the accuweather forecast. >> walter and sarah things are getting quite active across much of the delaware and lehigh valleys. on storm scan six live double scan radar 3-d we have a line of convective activity through new england across the midatlantic region with these showers and storms that continue to move eastward pressing into philadelphia. in fact a severe thunderstorm warning has been posted for the city, really that i-95 metro area. this stays up until 6:45 this evening and it is extending eastward into areas in south jersey. the big concern tonight with the severe thunderstorm warning will be damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour. we'll track it for you now on storm tracker6 live double scan radar. you can see on street level if you look at the box and look

at the towns, in philadelphia as this is moving to the southeast at about 45 miles per hour at about 6:13, it's in haddonfield, same thing in cherry hill, palmyra and also affecting you at 6:13 this evening. pressing into cinnaminson at 6:16 and also into springdale at about 6:18. we'll show you another cluster of the same line just to the south across areas in wilmington where you are getting a good chunk of pea sized hail associated with this line moving through. it's approaching williamstown at 6:13, s. 6:15 in sicklerville and by 6:20 it is in cedarbrook. we'll be tracking the line of severe showers and storms as it moves through. despite the fact we are under a severe thunderstorm warning there is a severe thunderstorm watch for the entire viewing area until 10:00 p.m. tonight. the big concern scattered wind gusts in excess of 70 miles per hour. scattered hail up to an inch and a half in diameter and isolated tornado we certainly can't rule that out and downpours are likely locally heavy rain up to 2-inches.

talented in every aspect and she's just -- she's amazing. >> we are not prepared. >> reporter: you need a raincoat. >> we don't have anything. we just came with our concert clothes id and ticket. >> reporter: among those dancing in the world formation tour tonight is north philadelphia native quinetta wilmington. she's got a nursing degree but she's dancing her heart out fulfilling a dream. >> i'm so happy. all of my family is going to be there, all of my friends from central and middle school and element army i'm ready for them to see the show and see the woman that i've become as a dancer. >> reporter: meantime beyoncé's adoring fans are prepared for some bad weather but a great time. >> i am not very concerned about the weather because at the end of the day i'm seeing one of the greatest artists alive so rain, sleet or snow i'm going to be here for beyoncé. >> reporter: now, according to a tweet from the linc at this point guests are being allowed to enter the stadium but seating areas remain closed until conditions are deemed safe. right now you have to stay on the concourse.

"action news" reporter jeff chirico reports from citizens bank park. >> reporter: there's widespread disappointment over that beer bottle tossing incident after yesterday's loss to the brewers. and philadelphia police and the phillies are taking this very seriously. now, the phillies provided this photo to "action news" that shows the alleged beer thrower. police are now trying to identify this man. this all happened just after

ryan howard grounded out in the ninth inning as he returned to the dugout someone apparently threw a beer bottle that landed near him. it didn't hit him but we spoke wit with officials and fans who say this type of activity is just unacceptable. >> they like to win. they're -- they're fanatical, you know, they know their baseball but i'm not going to -- i'm not going to put a label on the philly fans because of one bad apple. >> people need to think and not use their emotions and think about what it does for the city, think about what it does by putting someone in harm's way with a projectile coming at them whether it's a battery or bottle of water or whatever and it's the wrong thing to do and people who do that and get caught will be arrested and prosecuted. >> he's one of the reasons we have what we have here and whomever did that is pretty ignorant so i wouldn't be -- i don't think he's a true phillies fan. >> a disgrace. it's uncalled for. it's not necessarily. doesn't represent philly at

all. >> reporter: philadelphia police say at this point it is too early to determine what, if any, charges that man could face. at citizens bank park jeff chirico channel6 "action news. >> developing news now out of delaware county where a tractor-trailer crash is making a mess of traffic on i-95 and i-495. the action cam was on the scene near boothwyn. you can see the jackknifed truck is sitting across several lanes. that's forced officials to shut down all of the southbound lanes of i-495 and all but one lane of i-95. this all started a few hours ago when a car cut off the tractor-trailer causing it to crash into a guardrail to. make matters worse more than 100 gallons of fuel leaked from the truck's tank. no one was injured. drivers being urged to avoid that area. a suspicious package shut down train service into the norristown transportation center for several hours today. around 1:30 someone reported an unattended package at the bieber bus parking garage adjacent to the transportation

center. service had to be suspended while police tried to figure out what it was. about an hour and a half later they determined there was no threat. no word on what the packaged turned out to be. service was restored but passengers are still being told to expect delays. >> thousands of people lined the streets of manayunk today hoping to catch a glimpse of some of the best cyclists in the world. athletes taking part in today's philadelphia interception international cycling classic took on the grueling course inlewding the manayunk wall. trish hartman has more. >> reporter: the elite cyclists zoomed by up the hill known as the manayunk wall in the philadelphia international cycling classic. throngs of spectators cheered them on even as a light rain started to gray we don't care. we come. the weather makes the race more interesting. >> reporter: this family from doylestown hosted one of the american professionals teams at their house an experience they'll never forget. >> i got to ride with him a couple times for a little

while and then we got out everything about cycling that we wanted and they've been so nice. unbelievable. >> reporter: what's it been like having these elite cyclists stay at your house. >> really fun. my mom actually -- she liked it a lot 'cause they cleaned up after themselves so. >> reporter: good house guests. >> yeah. >> reporter: the men went first and then the women making loop after loop on the 12-mile circuit through the city. for the competitors some clouds and light rain isn't necessarily a bad thing. they say they'd rather deal with this weather than having sun beating down on them constantly as they're climbing this hill over and over again. ly. >> oh, yeah, this is much better for me. i like it when it is cooler than hot. >> enjoy the cooler temperatures and they make it a little faster. the heat can sometimes be a big factor in the conditions more than the cooler temperatures and a little bit of drizzle. while the race is known for its party atmosphere -- >> yeah yeah.

>> a malfunctioning transformer knocked out electricity to part of olde city this afternoon. peco says wet weather conditions caused the transformer to fail in the 300 block of wood street. 1200 customers were initially affected. just over 40 customers remain without power right now. peco stays restoring power to the remaining customers is a complex job and could take up to 12 hours. 260 men and women officially took on a new title today. doctor. they graduated from the philadelphia college of osteopathic medicine joining 1,000 osteopathic doctors. dr. brian nester was the commencement speaker. he's the currents ceo of the lehigh valley health network. >> a church in northeast philadelphia marked a milestone today with the help of a very special visitor. archbishop charles chaput celebrated mass at saint martha's parish.

the parish is 50 year old. he noted this parish continues to grow as it meets the changing needs of its members. the. they had a tail wagging good time at the world of animals vet hospital in bensalem. they hosted a fundraiser for the red paw emergency relief team. there were games and vendors and entertainment even a puppy kissing booth. as you can see plenty of people brought along their pets for a fun time. red paw provides round the clock emergency help for displaced pets. >> ♪

redo one city playground each and every year. >> very nice. jeff with sports following up on our report from earlier on this bottle throwing incident involving ryan howard. >> classless by a phillies fan yesterday. it's yet another black eye for the image of philadelphia sports fans. after ryan howard says a fan threw a beer bottle at him at the end of yesterday's game, the bottle did not strike the phillies first baseman but as you can imagine he's livid. phillies say this is the unidentified fan who allegedly threw the bottle at howard. the phils center the video of the incident to police who are investigating it tonight. howard says this is the first time in his career an object has been thrown at him from the stands and he's infuriated by it. here's what howard tells the philadelphia inquirer. if you want to yell out something, that's whatever but when you start throwing stuff, that's when stuff gets personal. if i would have done something, if i would have went into the stands and tried to beat up this dude, i would have gotten in trouble by major league baseball. he probably would have tried to sue me. but it's okay for him to throw

we're tracking storms as we speak. storm tracker6 live double scan radar, you can see we've got the line of showers and storms moving across the region. this is the cold front that we've been tracking. in fact we'll go in a little tighter and show you we've got that severe thunderstorm warning posted for philadelphia and areas to the south and east there in south jersey. so, this is moving to the southeast at about 50 miles per hour. we're expecting winds gusting up to 60 miles per hour. actually track some of this moisture for you on storm tracker6 live double scan street level. you can see the heaviest rain starting to press out of philadelphia but it is moving to the east so along route 130, also along route 38 pressing into cherry hill. we put on the rain rate factor here with storm tracker6 and you're looking at about 3-inches of rain falling at an hour and also close to about three and a half inches of rainfall rate per hour. any time you find rainfall rate numbers like this, this is an indication of some localized flooding. wouldn't be surprised if you had that across the region.

now we'll take up over into areas in trenton and mercer county where we have moderate to heavy rainfall falling along route 206. also along route one there in trenton and also pressing into florence. now we'll show you this other area that looks pretty interesting where we are finding some bowing taking place across areas in south jersey. if you are close to folsom at about 6:26 we're tracking those showers and storms for you. same thing for hammonton at about 6:28. look at the storm tracker here in elwood it will be approaching your region at about 6:34 this evening. i would allow for the showers and storms to persist early this evening and we'll get late neither clearing. you can see where the rain has fallen and where it's yet to come. it's 68 degrees in allentown with the rain cooled air, 70 in philadelphia after a high of 84. still 81 in millville, 85 degrees in dover and 72 degrees in cape may. you look at the dewpoints it's the level of moisture in the atmosphere and any time you have dewpoint numbers above 65 degrees or higher, you could feel the humidity

overhead and if you hit 70 it's down right oppressive. 78 degrees dewpoints there in dover with those strong showers and storms moving through. here's satellite6 and action radar you can see the cold front from new england extending down across the midatlantic region with those strong showers and storms that watch box is a severe thunderstorm watch that stays up until 10 o'clock tonight before that cold front passes on through. future tracker six showing you the moisture 7 o'clock this evening still have a line of showers and storms from trenton right along that 95 corridor and also into areas in south jersey. remember we could find winds in excess of 60 miles per hour with the moisture moving on through. 8:30, 9 o'clock tonight that moisture starts to move off shore. as you wake up early on monday morning 7:30 in the morning should be dry for the morning commute. plenty of sunshine returns and lower humidity as well. that is the call from accuweather tomorrow. we'll max out at 87 tomorrow. the humidity drops throughout the day. it's sunny and warm, 85 degrees in allentown and 80 in cape may for the high temperature. the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast showing it's
