"action news", delaware valley's leading news program, with meteorologist melissa a magee, jeff skversky, sarah bloomquist and walter perez. the storms came and went quickly but the clean up could take a while, from down trees to flooding and a fire, that may have been caused by lightening. the fast moving system, left behind quite a bit of damage. sunday night and the big story on "action news" is aftermath of the this evening's severe weather. >> we have team coverage tonight. you can see that moving to the east of philadelphia. same one that did produce severe thunderstorm warnings across the a area and that severe thunderstorm watch that expired for bulk of the delaware and lehigh valleys. storm tracker six live street level shows you light rain, there just to the south of the lower bank and spotted shower in mays landing. one pressing to the north and east of oceanville at this hour but bulk of the precipitation is moving off shore. we picked up quite a bit of damage as storms did roll through. philadelphia international, had a report of 52-mile an hour wind gusts, walling forward there in delaware county, tree and wires felon a car there, lancaster county a brief report of a funnel cloud reported, and blackwood in camden county, wind gusting as high as 74 miles an hour and trees were also knocked down there, in holy oak. as far as what we can expect over the next 12 hours? included will be breaking up. it is still humid and during the overnight hours. we will drop down to 63 in the suburbs and 66 degrees in

"action news" reporter nora muchanic is live in darby boro where a massive tree toppled on to a car, nora? >> reporter: hi there, walter we're on wright avenue in darby where the street has been block all evening because of the giant tree. take i look up the street. it has crushed one car and we cannot tell condition of another car because it is under all of the leaves. red cross was here earlier to help relocate a couple of families affected by this. this is as a result of the violent storm that swept through here earlier this evening, and it is kind of damage we are seeing all over the area. >> i just seen the tree fall

down in front of my window. i heard a boom. and then i'm happy that everybody is safe. >> reporter: this was the scene on wright avenue in darby, after after a tree ripped off the sidewalk, crushed a car and crashed in the house. not far away another fallen tree pulled down power lines and left dozens of homes on north fourth street in the dark. >> it was like wind, wind, winds and then lightening, boom, and then boom, and then look out and the tree was in the ground. >> we can't cook, we can't watch tv. we can't charge our phones. >> reporter: frightening moments in new castle on the delaware river just off battery park, a couple had to be rescued when strong wind from the storm capsized their sail boat. rescue crews brought them to shore and they waited to land with help from fire fighters. >> we didn't see the black clouds over here until we came back over the bridge again. so we were trying to get back and that one gust was much. >> reporter: in walling forward two people in the car

charge. live from darby, i'm nora muchanic for channel six "action news". >> thank you, nora. fire officials in burlington county say lightening is a likely cause of the house fire tonight. flames broke out around 6:30 at the home in the 300 block of garfield avenue in moorestown. fire fighters quickly put out the flames, no one was hurt. stay with "action news" for latest reports on storm damage across the region, we will be monitoring conditions overnight and into tomorrow morning. our show begins tomorrow at 4:30 a.m. on six abc. three people were injured when a car smashed into a utility pole tonight in montgomery county this was the scene shortly after 5:30 along black rock road near hallow road in upper providence no word on extent of those injuries. a tractor trailer crashed in boothwyn delaware county and that was a source of the huge backup this afternoon. investigators say a car cut off a tractor trailer causing it to crash into a guardrail, at the pennsylvania/delaware state line just before the 495, i-95 split. to make matters worse, more

than 100 gallons of fuel leaked from the truck's tanks and nobody was injured. the phillies and philadelphia police are investigating after a fan crossed the line, first base man ryan howard says that a fan threw a beer bottle at him during yesterday's game. "action news" reporter jeff chirico is live outside citizens bank park with the full details, jeff? >> reporter: hey, sarah just a matter of time before we know who that guy is, he released a photo and said that threw that bottle. as you can imagine that picture was shared on soaks media by fans seemingly united in their outrage that anyone would throw something at the former mvp. >> it is another case of philadelphia sports fans behaving badly, police are trying to identify the man in this photo who allegedly threw a beer bottle a at ryan howard. it happened as the first businessman walk back after grounding out. the bottle didn't hit him. photo snapped by a fan shortly

22nd and market streets. the civil trial against the salvation army, richard bash an owe who owned the property and others is due to start in september. a veteran news photographer and video editor for national public radio has been killed while on assignment in afghanistan. officials say david gillke was traveling with the afghan army unit which the convoy came under fire and their vehicle was struck two. other npr journal list also traveling with that unit were not injured. gillke covered national and international news for the radio network and had been to afghanistan and iraq several times in the past. on the campaign trail tonight, abc news predicts hillary clinton will win puerto rico's democratic primary. election officials say clerical issues, heavy turnout and hand counting of ballots slowed the results. polls closed at 3:00 o'clock but it was not just before 10:00 that the race was called. how she and bernie sanders will split the electoral votes is not the certain yet. clinton said in california, she was campaigning for
