you -- everybody in here works hard for and you -- to do what i've done in the city and playing -- i don't care how bad somebody thinks i'm playing, that's -- it's uncalled for. you shouldn't do it. you shouldn't do it period. >> reporter: it becomes personal at that point. >> it does having very personal. the philadelphia phillies confirm to "action news" that this is the fan shown on stadium surveillance throwing a beer bottle in the direction of ryan howard at the conclusion of saturday night's game. a team spokeswoman says stadium security has video of the incident and turned it over to police. this photo was taken by a fan, he was sitting nearby. philadelphia police are urging the beer bottle chucking fan to come forward. they plan to issue him a disorderly conduct citation. >> there are photographs floating around out there so it's not going to be hard to figure out who the individual is. the phillies organization has a ton of video cameras placed within the facility there so i

don't think it's going to be hard for us to figure out who the individual is. >> reporter: neither stadium security or police stopped the fan after the incident so he simply walked out of citizens bank park. the struggling howard was upset and notified a security guard who contacted police on sunday. >> he doesn't represent everybody in this city obviously. he played a lot of years here and for one individual to do something like this i don't think that represents the city as a whole. >> reporter: and police say the fan in that feet company can save everyone a lot of time, just come forward. it's a summary citation so that fan will simply face a fine. i'm live in south philadelphia, chad pradelli, channel6 "action news." >> all right, chad, thank you. five people went to the hospital today after a massive pileup on the schuylkill expressway. chopper6 was over the 10-car crash near the conshohocken curve this morning. it happened just after 11:00 a.m. police have not said what set off the wreck. but the highway was closed for hours while crews cleared the

wreckage. all of the lanes are back opened this afternoon. police tells none of the injuries are considered serious. meantime police in delaware caught a bank robber red handed today. and the action cam was right there as officers took him into custody. police say he round the artisan's bank on kirkwood highway in wilmington. workers at the pnc across the street saw what was happening and called police. officers have not told us the suspect's name and they have not given us any other details about the crime. >> investigators are busy at the scene of an explosion that rocked a new jersey neighborhood. you can see that duplex largely reduced to rubble. it happened in phillipsburg warren county saturday night injuring two people. several others had to be rescued from the home including two girls ages five and 10 who were trapped inside. >> sitting on the front porch and we just heard a big boom. it like blew my door opened and stuff. >> i ran out there as fast as i could. we were screaming telling

people to call 911. >> now investigators say the smell of gas was present after the explosion but there's been no official cause determined just yet. at 82 degrees at the start of the game. by the ninth inning dropping down to 76 degrees. and temperatures will be cooling off dramatically by the middle of the week. it's warm to start. this week mainly dry but tomorrow afternoon a cold front could bring us a spotty shower or thunderstorm and then behind that, temperatures only in the 70's for the second half of the week. i'll talk more about that and track some showers on the way coming up in the full accuweather forecast. sharrie. >> all right, see you in a bit cecily. thank you. meantime prosecutors have decided not to file charges against the family of the boy who ended up inside a gorilla enclosure at the cincinnati zoo. the incident ended when zoo keepers had to kill a gorilla to get the boy to safety. abc's elizabeth hur is live in new york for us this afternoon with the details on today's decision. elizabeth. >> reporter: sharrie, authorities say after interviewing eyewitnesses, viewing that video and even visiting the boy's home they determined what happened at the zoo was not a crime. in fact they say it happened so

quickly there was nothing the mother could have done to prevent it. no criminal charges for the terrified mother of the three-year-old boy seen here in this now viral video from the cincinnati zoo. >> she was being attentive to her children by all witness accounts and the three-year-old just scampered off. >> my son fell in with the gorilla. there's a male gorilla standing over him. i need someone to contact the the zoo please. >> reporter: the mother who made that frantic 911 call according to investigators did not act recklessly in the moments before her son fell into the gorilla exhibit. >> for instance, had she been in the bathroom smoking crack and let her kids run around the zoo that would be a different story but that's not what was happening here. >> fell and quick frankly i don't know how -- quite franking i don't know how he wasn't hurt. >hurt. >> reporter: authorities say 10 tense minutes after the child climbed over the 3-foot barrier and plunged 15 feet

on 295 in burlington county, no arguments here. this is not pleasant whatsoever. you're hitting the wall of traffic here by 130. it's because of a vehicle fire up ahead on 295 southbound taking out the right and center lanes. so, here in mansfield township a very unpleasant ride this afternoon. i would stick with 130 which it looks like a lot of people are doing that or even stay on the southbound side of the new jersey turnpike to through burlington county instead of southbound 295. now, also in jersey in south brunswick there's also another vehicle fire. it's on the northbound side of route one approaching ridge road. two lanes also blocked there so headed up one this afternoon you're also going to hit delays. two so six doesn't look too bad at the moment if you want to use that instead. crossing the river into bucks county and the great northeast as you come southbound out of bucks into philadelphia, watch out for this crash just south of woodhaven road taking out the right lane. so coming down from street road you are finding delays because of that accident. in abington township montgomery county, there's a crash along 611 at paid der

>> a philadelphia teenager is recovering after he was shot during an attempted carjacking. police say the 17-year-old was sitting in a honda civic on the 5600 block of lawrence street in olney. the victim says two men approached the car with a gun and demanded to be let in. that's when one of the suspects began firing at the vehicle. >> chased car and fired a total of three shots, all three shots did strike the driver's side of the vehicle. one bullet did go through the driver door window and struck the 17-year-old victim in his left shoulder. >> well, the teen drove himself to saint christopher's hospital where he is listed in stable condition. >> there will be a public memorial for muhammad ali on friday in lieu will kentucky much his body arrived in louisville over the weekend. there will be a private service for the family on

thursday. then on friday there lab procession down muhammad ali boulevard and a public service ali made these arrangement himself before passing away friday after a 32 year bat technological with parkinson's disease. he was surrounded by all nine of his children. >> i'm obviously really sad but i've been sad for a long time, you know, just watching my father struggling with parkinson's disease so i felt like he was trapped inside of his body. so, i have comfort in knowing that he's not suffering anymore. >> former president bill clinton utah senator oren hatch and comedian billy crystal will all deliver eulogies. >> there were memorials all over the world to mark 72 years since one of the most brutal and important days in modern history. on this date in 1944 more than 150,000 u.s., british and canadian soldiers began the d-day invasion. they landed on five different beaches to attack the nazis along the coast of normandy.

an estimated 10,000 people died on the allied side alone including 6600 americans. but the overall victory is one of the key moments that turned the tide of world war ii. >> not a good day for new jersey governor chris christie as his approval rating is now at a record low in his home state and his endorsement of donald trump could be a big reason behind this. take a look at the number. monmouth university out with a new poll showing 63 percent of people in new jersey disapproving of the job that the governor is doing. just 27 percent approve. that's the lowest number during his six years as governor. as we dive deeper into the numbers this is the very first time that his approval rating has been lower than the state legislature. today's poll shows 30 percent of people approve of the state legislature, 49 percent disapproving. again, diving into the numbers and finding out what is behind this, take a look.

>> what's christie's biggest concern. 79 percent said his own political future, not the state of new jersey, just 13 percent in fact think leading the state of new jersey is his biggest priority. why endorse trump? take a look. people said that his support for trump was the big reason that they don't like him anymore. 68 percent of people said christie only endorsed trump because he's hoping for a job and a possible -- in a possible trump presidential administration. 21 percent say the state of new jersey is better off now than when christie took office. that number who think it's worse almost double at 41 percent. sharrie. >> the numbers say a lot. all right, brian. federal reserve claire janet yellen says it's still unclear what the -- when the feds should raise interest rates. speaking today in center city, yellen said the u.s. economy is improving but it's still defined by a lot of uncertainties.

she point to do friday's abysmal jobs report that the fed may raise its decision to raise rates. she had previously said the increase would come in the next few months. her speech today comes one week before the feds' next meeting. now here's a look at today's closing numbers and the reaction after hearing yellen green arrows today across-the-board. the dow up more than 113 points, the nasdaq up more than 26 and the s & p 500 actually closing at its highest point so far this year, closing at 2,109 points, up more than 10 points today. >> meanwhile the arrows soon to be going in the other direction weather-wise but that's not all a bad thing. >> not so bad considering how warm it is already outside. let's head over to meteorologist cecily tynan in for adam today. hi, cecily. >> hi, brian and sharrie. the sunshine is back after a stormy sunday night. we have cleared the air. we're live on sky6 taking a look over the ben franklin bridge and seeing lots of sunshine with some fair weather cumulus clouds developing and temperatures definitely on the warm side. dewpoints are in the 50's so

it doesn't feel that bad but almost across-the-board we've got temperatures in the mid 80's. philadelphia 84. allentown, reading and lancaster 85. trenton 83. millville 85. wilmington 84. the exception cape may point where you get that wind right off the bay, it's only 78 degrees. but we are looking at loads of sunshine with a few fair weather clouds just popping up right now. satellite6 along with action radar showing the next cold front that i'm tracking is across the great lakes. so, if you look to the south, though, you can see all this cloud cover trying to stream up from the south and that's because of tropical storm colin. if you look at this, all the convection, all the thunderstorms are really east of the storm, so that's an indication that it's not a very strong tropical system. it's heading closer to the panhandle of florida. currently it is 245 miles west of tampa, florida. maximum sustained winds 50 miles per hour. so this is a weak tropical system moving north-northeast

at 17 miles per hour and it will continue that trek and what will happen as it crosses charleston by tomorrow night it will get picked up by a cold front and that will push it out to sea, so that means this will not have an effect on our weather but it's going to bring a lot of rain to parts of florida, georgia and the carolinas. we're looking at this band of three to 5-inches with the potential that some areas see up to 8-inches of rain. so, fortunately we do not have to deal with that system. tonight just a very comfortable night. partly cloudy with the lowering humidity. pretty nice. 68 degrees in philadelphia. allentown 61. wilmington 67. cape may 69 degrees. a good night if you don't have allergies, you can open up the windy, let the breeze blow n future tracker showing we start the day dry. 7 o'clock in the morning perhaps some clouds across south jersey and delaware and the poconos and then as we head into the afternoon, this is when that cold front gets closer. i really don't think it has a lot much moisture to work with but we could see a scattering

charges. he's in jail on $120,000 bail. a second man was in the car with him and was released without being charged. >> with this end of the school year approaching many children who rely on school meals are at a at risk of going hungry this summer. with that in mind, pennsylvania senator bob casey is calling on congress to help those children and their families. today he spoke out against proposed cuts to the supplemental nutrition assistance program or snap. he said any cuts would have devastating consequences for the 20 percent of pennsylvania children who don't have enough to eat. >> we should not allow that number to stay at 20 percent. we are we should be taking determined steps to reduce that number. >> casey made his plea at fair and square, a nonprofit grocery store in chester. >> another group of graduates took the next step in their lives today. archbishop ryan held its

"action news" reporter vernon odom is live outside the courthouse in media with the details on this story. vern. >> reporter: good afternoon, sharrie. this thursday will mark the first anniversary of the killing of this man, a truck driver named thomas shelter to. it happened on june 9th a year ago. it happened in yeadon. now there's an all points bulletin out for the suspect, a dragnet that extends across many state lines. the d.a. here in delaware county wants this man rodney shelton of north carolina brought back here to stand trial. the 37-year-old shelton is charged with murder and robbery in the killing nearly one year ago of this man, 63-year-old thomas-childs. yeadon police found his lifeness body in this industrial complex next to his delivery truck in the loading dock of ridgeway industries shot to death. >> he's dangerous. he's a murderer. we're asking you just to tell the authorities where he's at

and let us do our job. >> reporter: the murder weapon a 9-millimeter handgun and the victim it's cell phone were found in a nearby fernwood cemetery. atf traced the happened gun to its owner in north carolina who admitted she gave the weapon to shelton. within days of his arrival here in the area the d.a. says he used to the gun to kill child's in a botched robbery attempt. shelton has relatives and a girlfriend with a child. >> he admitted to her that he killed mr. child, that the robbery had gone bad, there he believed mr. childs was resisting at the time and he shot him. >> this won't bring thomas-childs back but at least this will bring some measure of closure for this heinous act. >> reporter: the d.a. believes shelton is hiding out somewhere in north carolina, georgia or virginia. they're squeezing relatives and contacts here and down south to help capture him. >> a small amount of money was missing. this was all over a few

dollars. he was killed for probably less than $20. >> reporter: brian, tonight the citizens crime commission is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to rodney shelton's arrest. live in media, delaware county, i'm vernon odom, channel6 "action news." >> vernon thanks very much. we now know the identity of the man shot and killed as he tried to rob a bucks county pharmacy on friday. police say the suspected armed robber was 33-year-old willie bodie his alleged accomplice kim goldsboro was arrested at the scene. a man says someone broke into his house and pistol whipped him in northeast philadelphia. the action cam was on the scene along the 3900 block of roosevelt boulevard around 4 o'clock this morning as police investigated.

the victim has minor injuries and says the suspect ran off without taking anything. >> from our delaware news room now, a dump truck crash knocked out to your a number of customers in hockessin. the truck was traveling along corner catch road near carrington drive around 10 o'clock this morning when it got too close to the shoulder and overturned. well, you can see it got tangled up in the power lines. the 69-year-old driver was taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay. delmarva power and delaware state police are still on the scene investigating. >> a proposal to put more slot machines in pennsylvania is drawing some opposition today. the statehouse of representatives is considering the legislation. it would clear the way for video gaming terminals at any tavern restaurant or social club but officials from harrah's philadelphia casino and racetrack in chester are against the idea. they say the current legislation would allow unregulated pliny casinos to pop up all over the region.

bump in the road for his son who is now focusing on getting his diploma. dad says if his son gets a job and saves $1,000, he will match the money to help buy him a new car. so, a bit of punishment but also a way to redeem himself. all right. to this story. a crook that is still on the loose and the surveillance video let's just call it simply bananas. a monkey in india was hanging by the front door of a jewelry store. well you see the owner tries to be nice and offers him some food and comes to the glass door give him a piece of from the but watch as moments later the monkey pries the door opened and inside he goes and then he hops right into the boss' chair and he goes straight for the cash register. the monkey grabs a wad of cash, jumps over the counter. eventually there and clutching that money in his mouth and out he goes. they're calling it a bit of a monkey business. >> yeah, i imagine they would.

keep going east on the schuylkill and they're going have just one lane in which to do so-so we expect not only the closure of the 59 but big delays on the eastbound schuylkill later on this evening because of the road work. in new hanover township a crash along swamp pike at faust road. here on 295 in burlington county things are looking up. that vehicle fire southbound by 206 is gone so we're starting to pick up the pace here in the southbound lanes by 130. but in old man's township salem county along 295 northbound, there is some downed wires taking out one of the lanes. so speeds are just in the 40's there as you come north of the delaware memorial bridge. luckily our crash on the westbound a.c. expressway approaching 42 is gone so back up into the 60's there and in magnolia watch out for a crash along the walgreens along the white horse pike at evesham avenue. we'll check it again brian coming up in the 5 o'clock hour. >> sounds good matt. see you then. some washington, d.c. area students got to spend the day at the white house today. they got their hands dirty helping to harvest vegetables from the first lady's garden.

it feels great out there. looks nice, too. the action cam along south broad street looking north and seeing the blue skies with a few cumulus clouds popping up behind william penn this afternoon and we do have dry conditions. storm tracker6 got a bit of a workout last night but everything is quiet right now. dry out there with a good amount of sunshine and temperatures definitely on the warm side is. 84 degrees in philadelphia. our normal high for this time of the engineer now u year is n. atlantic city millville all 85. exception cape may you get the wind off the water it's quite a bit warmer there, 78 degrees. tonight quiet, partly cloudy, low humidity, comfortable 61 in the cooler suburbs. 68 degrees for center city and satellite6 along with action radar showing if you look to the south, you can see some clouds trying to move up. that's all associated with tropical storm colin. if you look at the satellite six along with action radar, though, you can see that colin is not a very healthy looking storm.

if you have a healthy tropical storm, you see convection, you see the thunderstorms really wrapping around that entire low. all of that activity is east of the center is. maximum sustained winds 50 miles per hour but colin will bring a soaking rain to parts of florida, georgia and south carolina. as it essentialing gets kicked out to sea by the same cold front that's moving through here tomorrow afternoon. so, here it's going to be another warm day. 85 degrees. as that front pulls through, could get a spotty thunderstorm but again, that kicks colin out to sea and then behind this system on wednesday, you may want to consider a jacket or a sweater. the high only 70 degrees. lehigh valley stuck in the 60's and it's going to feel cooler than that with wind gusts up to about 30 miles per hour. bit of a wind tunnel effect and then a little bit of a dip in the atmosphere what's known as a trough moves through in the afternoon and that likely will kick up some instability showers before this high pressure moves in on thursday, brings us a dry, sunny ends to the work week. so, the exclusive accuweather

the king of prussia mall back on march 31st. it was first shown in court back in early may at a preliminary hearing. we were there as the detective narrated the video you're about to see frame by frame. a judge decided last week that it was in the public's interest to release it. in the surveillance video from march 31st, you can see a woman police identified as 32-year-old sherri amoore approach malekah hunter shopping with her seven week old son and her toddler. the two women did not know each other before this encounter. amoore strung a conversation with hunter and the two can be seen on the video walking through the mall together. they sat town in the food court and shared a meal. after awhile amoore picked up the infant and hunter handed her a blanket to cover the child. she had held the baby boy for quite some time while hunter attended to her toddler son. still standing amoore picked up her purse then some of the items from the table and walked to the trash can to throw them away with the infa s
