"action news" reporter chad pradelli is at south detectives headquarters tonight. chad, what's the status of the investigation? >> reporter: well, jim, police really want this guy to just come forward. this is a summary citation. he can save everyone a lot of time if he can comes whoer to south detectives, gets his citation and pays his fine. >> i think there everybody in whatever field it is that they do, whether you change oil, whether you work at a grocery store or whatever if somebody came and threw a beer bottle at you or something like that you would be upset. >> reporter: phillies first baseman ryan howard calls the beer bottle throwing incident incalled for and personal. it happened saturday evening after the phillies lost this man allegedly threw a bottle at howard. this image was captured by another fan sitting nearby but the phillies have confirmed the fan was seen on stadium surveillance hurling the bud light. police are urging the fan to come forward and receive a disorderly conduct citation.

>> there are photographs floating around out there. so it's not going to be hard to figure out who the individual is. the phillies organization has a ton of video cameras in places within the facility there so i don't think it's going to be hard for to us figure out who the individual is. >> reporter: howard has had a horrific season for the phillies and his playing time has redeceased i decreased in r. he hasn't complained. many of the teammates have come to his defense in the wake of the beer bottle throwing incident. >> it's one thing if you're on the road, you see it, it happens but at home, that's not supposed to happen especially for a if i that's done so much here. not just on the field and the community, he's one of the best teammates that you could ask for. >> reporter: and south detectives is handling the case. anyone with information about who that guy is you can call detectives here. i'm live in south philadelphia, chad pradelli, channel6 "action news. jim.

>> thank you, chad. 10 cars crashed on the schuylkill expressway this morning causing a backup that stretched for miles. it happened just after 11 o'clock in the westbound lanes near the conshohocken curve. police say five people suffered minor injuries that took crews nearly two hours to reopen the road. police on the scene of a crash in southwest philadelphia that happened within the last hour. chopper six was over the scene near 47th and woodland a half hour ago. that's where a car crashed and then the driver ran off. police were able to quickly capture him. a trolley was also involved but there are no reports of any injuries. the court has released this video which allegedly shows 32-year-ol 32-year-old shi amoore walking away with a seven week old baby at the king of prussia mall. it happened march 31st.

this is the first time we actually see the video of the moment of the alleged abduction. live outside the mall tonight "action news" reporter sarah bloomquist and sarah, what's the latest here? >> reporter: jim this video gives us a pretty good idea of what happened here inside the king of prussia mall back on march 31st. the prosecution first played it at the preliminary hearing early last month. we were there in court and listened as the tractor-trailer narrated it frame by frame. a judge decided last week there it was in the public's interest to release it. the surveillance video from inside the mall on march 31st shows a woman police identified as 32-year-old cherie amoore approach malekah hunter who is shopping with her seven week old son and her toddler. the two women did not know each other prior to this encounter. they began talking and app moore walked through the mall with hunter and her can two kids. they sat together and shared a bite to eat. after awhile amoore picked up

the baby boy. she stood rocking him. still holding the boy she picked up her purse then some of the trash from the table and walked behind the infant's mother to throw it away. with hunter's attention still on her toddler, amoore walked away at what looks to be a quick pace. she crossed the food court once. you can see her here passing the escalators. then she took the stairs to the upper level of the mall, two at a time and left with the infant. when the video was shown at amoore's preliminary hearing last month her attorney was asked if the video makes this an opened and closed case. >> it's opened and closed as to what happened. what's not closed is why it happened. and the case will wind its way through the court and we'll be able to show evidence as to why it happened. >> reporter: amoore's family recognized her in the surveillance images released by police on the day of the abduction. they called police and the child was found safe at amoore's tredyffrin township

apartment. she told investigators there she delivered a baby in february but the child didn't live long and passed away. what's your client's state of mind? >> confused. emotional. upset. not clear. >> reporter: at the preliminary hearing we asked amoore's attorney if she had ever actually been pregnant. his answer was that there was a baby shower with more than a hundred people in attendance but he did not elaborate. he did add, however, sh that she is receiving mental health treatment. she's due for her formal arraignment on june 22nd and she's already waived her appearance. live in king of prussia, i'm sarah bloomquist channel6 "action news. jim. >> thank you sarah. delaware state police say a traffic stop led to a big heroine bust in new castle. police stopped 31-year-old alexis valentin on route 13 near hess her boulevard last thursday.

when they searched his car, they say that they found almost 3,000 bags of heroin. valentin is facing a list of charges tonight and he is in jail in lieu of $120,000 bail. authorities are still trying to determine -- tonight philadelphia police are searching for the man who stole a city vehicle from a municipal lot in juniata park. surveillance video from last thursday shows that the suspect was walking around the lot on whitaker avenue and checking several vehicles. he finally found a locked car, stole it while the employee responsible for it was inside the building. now authorities are trying to determine an official cause of the house explosion saturday night in phillipsburg, new jersey. "action news" reporter walter perez was back at the blast scene today. >> i ran up there as fast as i could. we were screaming telling people to call 911ism jonathan norris was just one of the neighbors who tried to do anything within their power to

help after this four unit apartment house exploded this past saturday night. phillipsburg mayor steven ellis says even he knew something bad happened right away. >> i felt it. i was just my house. i had just left the relay for life event at our high school and it shook the ground which is a mile away. >> reporter: the building was destroyed but amazingly only two people were injured. one victim identified as 36-year-old clay metzger suffered serious burns and remains at lehigh valley hospital in critical but stable condition. a neighbor who didn't wander to be identified says it was obvious right away that metzger's injuries were quite serious. >> the neighbor was spraying a lows on to him because his skin was -- it was coming off. he was -- it was so bad. >> reporter: the other victim is being treated for a laceration to the face and is expected to fully recover. meanwhile investigators are still pouring through the rubble to figure out how this happened. >> we have special lift here from elizabethtown gas in georgia and we also have our

detectives sifting through the rubble to find the causism meanwhile at least one of the neighboring homes may also have to come down. investigators are still not sure yet. also two dogs were injured in the blast. they're being treated for burns. in fact one was burned seriously. once again still no word how this happened but several neighbors reported to police that there was an odor of gas in the neighborhood before the explosion occurred. reporting from phillipsburg, new jersey, walter perez, channel6 "action news." >> the stage is set for a celebration of the strides made by philadelphia residents with disabilities. "action news" was at city hall this afternoon for the raising of the disability pride flag seeing wheel claire and stars. on saturday, activists and their supporters will mark disability flag day at the national constitution center and parade down market street to city hall. a city council committee held hearings today on proposed changes to the rules for demolition sites in philadelphia. the proposals by the department of licenses and inspection call for better

>> they are the best trained police dog if the country and they came to the penn innovation end in grays ferry today to show their stuff. we got a firsthand look at just how much these k-9 teams have learned and accomplished. "action news" reporter katherine scott was there. >> reporter: five cars three of them are clean. narcotics are planted in two of them. each k-9 team has 10 minutes to find them. it's all part of this year's u.s. police k-9 association national detected dog trials taking place at penn vet working dog center in grays ferry. the regional chapter of penn vet and penn police department are hosting. the 51 teams here this week have all qualified from the regions from around the country. allows them to come here for their national certification. >> it's huge. it's huge for us. it's luge for philadelphia. people work really hard to get here, to qualify to be here so

it's a really good thing. >> reporter: this week is all detector dogs with specific skills in narcotics, explosives or cadavers searching vehicles and buildings. there are no arson dogs here this year. judges from around the country surveyed these teams as they searched for narcotics. the handlers have to understand the signs their dogs give them. >> some sit or lay, he's aggressive he'll scratch bike or look at the source. >> he gets frantic searching for it. and as soon as he gets as close as he can get to it, he will literally do you mean a complete pause and sit is and will freeze like a statue. >> reporter: for these teams earning this certification is certainly prestigious but the sting also serves several other very porn purposes. impor. >> especially for a narcotic dog in court that they're certified by an outside organization not just their trainer or their department and day to day this tells me when i'm on the street working i can 100 percent rely on him

to show that he's certified he knows what he's doing. >> reporter: the teams will be back for another day tomorrow. in grays ferry katherine scott channel6 "action news. >> "action news" was there today as some graduating high school seniors in montgomery county celebrated their future by returning to their past. dressed in their caps and gowns the upper dublin high school seniors returned to their old elementary school in fort washington this morning. students and teachers lined the hallways as the graduates returned to the place where their education began.

free conditions out there tonight. double scan live was working overtime last night with the storms and now a good amount of sunshine. let's go to where the action cam was today. the curtis center on walnut street and we're seeing the blue skies, mixing in with some clouds and you can also see a lot of folks out and about enjoying this weather. today it was definitely on the warm side. 86 degrees the high but it felt so much more comfortable than yesterday. yesterday we had dewpoints in the 70's. look at the dewpoints right now. except for areas that get that ocean influence like cape may and dover we've got dewpoints in the 50. so, that's a pretty dry air mass. dewpoints really dropping with the winds out of the northwest and temperatures will be dropping substantially by wednesday. this is future tracker showing wednesday afternoon the high in philadelphia only 70 degrees. that's 10 degrees below normal and a lot of our suburbs won't even climb out of the 60's and it's going to feel even cooler than that because we're going have wind gusts up to about

30 miles per hour. so, you may actually want a sweater on wednesday. right now, though, still pretty warm out there. philadelphia 85 degrees. trenton and wilmington 83. allentown 84. reading 83 and cape may close to that ocean with the wind off the water, it's only 74 degrees. so, tonight partly cloudy, pretty comfortable night with the low dewpoints. if you don't have allergies you can probably give your air conditioning units a break. open up the window. 61 in the cooler suburbs. about 68 degrees for center city. and satellite6 along with action radar showing we started the day with loads of sunshine but we are beginning to see some clouds streaming up from the south and this is all thanks to tropical storm colin. satellite6 along with action radar showing this is not a very healthy. a healthy tropical storm you want to see all the thunderstorms wrapping along the storm. the convection with colin is east side of the storm and that storm is pretty close to making landfall. should be making landfall this evening near big bend florida and then it's moving pretty

quickly. right now it's moving north-northeast at 23 miles an hour, maximum sustained winds at 50 miles per hour. it's a weak tropical storm and it will continue this path across georgia, across south carolina, across the outer banks by tomorrow afternoon and what will happen, a cold front that moves through here will also kick colin out to sea. so, it will not have an impact in our weather fortunately. with this cold front moving through we could see a spotty thunderstorm or two but actually colin is kind of rising in the atmosphere, most of the moisture -- ahead that of front tomorrow another warm day 85 degrees but behind it big changes on wednesday. the high 70. winds up top 30 miles per hour. and this troth, this piece of energy heading through in the afternoon could spark that scattered showers. so wednesday some big changes. so, the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, tomorrow warm, a good amount of sunshine, a few spotty thunderstorms in the afternoon. not widespread. the high 85 degrees.
