the associated press, hillary clinton has achieved that historic moment as the first woman to clinch a major party's nomination for president. it is monday night, and the big story on "action news" tonight is 2383. 2383 delegates. the a.p. says the number of super delegates committed to clinton today giving her the magic number to clinch the presidential nomination for president. this was expected to happen tomorrow night when clinton and bernie sanders face off in the last big night of primaries head lined by california and new jersey. sanders and his supporters reject the notion of clinton being the presumptive nominees because super delegates can change their minds until the roll call at the convention.

and if he wins tomorrow night he will go on a barnstorming tour in hopes to changing their minds. and claiming that clinton clinches, that's what they are saying. sanders saying not so fast. new jersey can you of six states casting ballots. the polls open at 6:00 and voters can cast ballots until 8:00 p.m. the police apprehended a man who allegedly attacked a woman behind a wawa in northeast philadelphia and tried to rape her. "action news" reporter, jeff chirico, is live in the 9400 block of state road. jeff, how did this happen? first, what is the condition of the victim? >> jim, the victim is ok. she had some bruises on her arm. she told the police she was grabbed from the wawa and pulled through the parking lot here into the woods back here where she was sexually assaulted in what the police describe as a hut. chopper 6 over the wooded scene

consider police say a 29-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in broad daylight happening after can have p.m. behind the shopping center in the 9400 block of state road. >> it makes me sick to my some that it happened in this neighborhood. >> and a woman waiting for a ride outside of wawa and a man approached and talked to her. >> asked her for a cigarette and grabbed her arm and walked her forcibly behind businesses. an area with high weeds and there was a makeshift little hut with a blanket and some jugs of water. >> the chief inspector small says that's where the man touched the victim and began removing her clothes before she got away and called police. the suspect nabbed blocks away when an alert officer stopped the man matching the description. >> i still can't believe it. this is a nice area. >> customers picking up dinner a short time later were stunned to learn what happened at a face they visit often.

fire and thick smoke pouring from the store. flames spread to nearby stores. the firefighter taken to the hospital for treatment and we have no word yet on the extent of his injuries. this is 75-year-old joyce laury and she is missing at this hour and she has alzheimer's. philadelphia police say she was waiting in a car outside of the philadelphia parking authority at 9th and filbert while her granddaughter was inside paying a ticket. an officer instructed her to move the car from the taxi zone so laury got behind the wheel and drove off. they don't know where she is. and it is a jeep patriot. video showing the abduction of a child from a king of prussia mall. showing the suspect amoore

approaching. and you see the suspect holding the baby and starting to walk away while the mother is looking at her other child. amoore took the stairs to an upper floor before walking into the parking lot. the 7-week-old found safe a few hours later at amoore's apartment and amoore awaiting charges on kidnapping. and fans trying to show ryan howard a little love, giving him a standing ovation when he came in at a pinch-hitter in the ninth inning of tonight's game. of course this is two days after somebody threw a beer bottle at howard inside of the ballpark. "action news" reporter christie ileto is live far from the stadium in ardmore, but she is there because she spoke to a witness of the episode. >> saying it was quick and sudden and didn't realize what happened until he saw the bottled beverage on the field.

parts of florida and south carolina could get up to eight inches of rain locally. this is infrared satellite and it shows we are actually feeling the effects of colin, but just in the form of some high, thin clouds. really the big concern with colin is the rain. switch this over to radar and show you that colin is really just beginning to make landfall right now. all of this tropical moisture is well in advance of the storm system. and you can see jacksonville heavy rain streaming up into the carolinas. and we are looking at the potential 3-6 inches plus from northern florida through south carolina and georgia. and that will cause localized flooding. the center of the storm again is beginning to pull ashore. maximum sustained wind 50 miles per hour and a pretty weak tropical system moving northeast at 22 miles per hour it will actually take out the forward motion by tomorrow morning

name added to the list of v.i.p.s taking part in the farewell to mohammed ali. smith, who portrayed the boxer in the movie "ali" and the private family service thursday and later there will be a long processional in ali's hometown followed by an interface service. and he died friday night of septic shock following a 32-year-old battle with parkinson's disease. the mother of the 3-year-old boy who was able to get into a gorilla enclosure at the cincinnati zoo will not be charged. the boy got away from his mother and climbed over the barrier falling 15 feet in a shallow moat. a response team shot and killed the gorilla to protect the boy. the department of agriculture is still investigating the zoo over this episode. the 500-acre wildfire in

southern california that forced 5,000 people from their homes is now about 80% contained. crews are still working to put out hot spots, but eat evacuation orders have been lifted. the fire started when a car accident brought down power lines. today is the anniversary of d-day. the scene at the world war ii memorial in washington. veterans marked the event that would ultimately turn the tide of world war ii. 150,000 allies came ashore on june 6, 1944. about 10,000 soldiers were killed that day, including 6600 americans. it was the largest amphibious invasion in history. experts have begun the first restorations in 200 years at the site where they believe jesus

patrol is looking to fill a staffing shortage for the summer. the first time in she years they will hold life guard additions. they need 30 new life guards. last year 130 life guards protected atlantic city's 3 1/2 miles. they make about $100 a day. the try-outs held sunday morning at 9:00 on the south carolina avenue beach. a philadelphia high school grad, or soon-to-be grad with a special honor, perfect attendance. with james dudley of northeast philadelphia at services for father judge high school. kindergarten through senior year, dudley never missed a day. not once in 13 years! he says he occasionally can't add day off but his mom kept him on the straight and narrow. >> i tried, but all the times failed. >> i am like no, if you are not throwing up you're going. >> dudley says will he sleep

6:00, 70, by 8:00, 73 degrees. and the dayplanner showing another warm day. mixture of clouds and sunshine. by 5:00 reaching the high of 85, 5 degrees above normal. then in the evening a few scattered thunderstorms po possible. i don't think any widespread but a cold front moving through. what the cold front will do is kick the tropical storm out to sea. and behind it, a big change in the air mass on wednesday. temperatures are 10 degrees below normal. the high only 70 with the low pressure to the northeast, high pressure from the west, we get the wind tunnel effect of the wind gusts up to about 30 miles per hour and this dip in the atmosphere, a little bit after trough moving through in the afternoon it will bring us some instability, scattered showers. wednesday definitely a big change. the seven-day forecast. if you like it warm you will like tomorrow. 85 degrees and good a sunshine. spotty thunderstorm possible in the afternoon with the cold front.

and the winds of change wednesday. feeling cooler and the winds and a few afternoon showers. and thursday, high pressure building in, it should be a beautiful day. sunny and breezy, 75. and nicer friday up to 77 degrees. low humidity and sunshine and heading into the weekend, it's looking to be a beautiful weekend. seasonable on saturday. sun mixing with clouds, high of 80. and bump up to 82 degrees sunday and temperatures back down into the upper 70s monday. a lot of people who don't enjoy heat and humidity are going to like this week staying a bit on the cool side. >> but it is sunny. >> it will be nice tomorrow. and 51 best detector dogs put to test in philadelphia. the working dog center the site for the national dog trials. teams qualified in their region, enabling them to come here for the national certification process.
