frankford is charged in south florida on two counts of murder for the deaths of her two children. his child was the youngest of the two. >> this is the last person i would think would do something to our son and our daughter. >> haines has two adult children that live in jamaica, police say she was visiting a relative in the suburb of miramar for a week. haines called the relative telling her come home now. when the relative arrived home she told police haines was crying and her children were lying side by side on the master bed in the bedroom. haines admitted to taking a sheet and suffocating the baby first and then the 3-year-old girl. there was no out word signs of injury to the children. >> when the officers arrived at the scene, there were two adults standing outside on the street

philadelphia is one step closer to having a soda tax. the city council committee advanced an amended proposal. it's 1.5 cents per ounce of sugary soft drinks. the revenue from the lower tax will generate an estimated $91 million over the next year to fund several city programs includeling expanded pre-k. a full council vote is expected today and a final vote next week. the 14th annual gary papa run is just 10 days away now. jaime apody stopped by the preston and steve show on wmmr to promote the event. she is a cochair for the run to promote awareness of prostate cancer. jaime talked about how this would have made him proud.

sara bloomquist and meteorologist, david murphy. >> hello again, here is the stories we are following for you on "action news" at 12:30, investigators say a mother has admitted to suffocating her two children, we have the latest on the murder investigation that spans from philadelphia to florida. fire claims a life of a world war ii veteran that became trapped in the bedroom and thousands came to pray at the home town of muhammad ali as they say a final farewell to the boxing legend. we begin with a developing sry about a murder case involving a family from philadelphia. a woman from the frankford section is accused of killing her two young children during a trip to south florida. police in broward county arrested 40-year-old sophia haines, they found the bodies of her 4-month-old son and 3-year-old daughter in an apartment there.
