agholor accused of sexually assaulting a woman inside of a south philadelphia strip club. philadelphia police were investigating the alleged assault that took place yesterday inside of a cheerleaders gentleman's club on south front street. the alleged victim a dancer at the club. the eagles issued a statement so has agholor's attorney. "action news" reporter jeff chirico is covering the story with the latest. jeff. >> reporter: in that statement agholor maintains his innocence. this allegedly happened yesterday when a few players visited the club after the last day of training in an off season mini camp. >> the allegations are that the female dancer was sexually assaulted. philadelphia police say it's too early to release details of the alleged sexual assault at cheerleader's gentleman's club in south philadelphia. it's not far from the eagles novacare complex where the team practiced thursday. >> we are not confirming any particular player. only thing we're confirming is

that this was an allegation made against a member of the eagles organization. >> reporter: but eagles spokesman derrick boyko went further saying we're aware of the police investigation involving yell son agholor. the organization has been in contact with nelson and with the proper authorities in philadelphia. agholor a wide receiver was drafted by the eagles in 2015. his attorney told "action news" agholor is a thousand percent innocent of any criminal conduct. >> it's very early, very early on. quite some way to go and before you can get to the part of talking about charges or anything of that naturism philadelphia magazine reports agholor visited the club with at least two other eagles. lieutenant john stanford says no one from the eagles organization has been interviewed yet but that could happen as part of the investigation that's now in the hands of the special victims unit. >> the first step starts with that victim, getting to interview that victim getting the story and the accusations that are being made. >> reporter: and then the

next steps will involve interviewing witnesses and they're looking for surveillance video to corroborate the allegations. we're live at police headquarters, jeff chirico, channel6 "action news." rick. >> jeff, thank you. a person of interest is in custody tonight for yesterday's attack along the schuylkill river trail. a woman was slashed in the face while going up the stairs to walnut street in center city around 3:00 p.m. a number of tips led police to the man. they're now questioning him about the incident. the victim is recovering from a large cut across her forehead. new developments tonight in the murders of two philadelphia children killed in florida by their mother. today authorities confirm that the youngsters were in the dhs system. vernon odom has the latest live from fox chase where a vigil will be held for the young victims. vernon. >> reporter: good evening, rick. that vigil starts out here at 7 o'clock tonight. the murder suspect sophia hines did not appear in a florida courtroom this afternoon as scheduled. her lawyer says she's suffering from severe

postpartum depression and the hearing has been postponed because show remains in a psychiatric units this hour. the fallout from the double murder meanwhile continues here. >> great kids. always had smiles on faces. >> reporter: instead of flee is one of the workers here atop notch day care in fox chase where the two slain children were brought daily for childcare. the family of three-year-old ariel hines and saint leo hines were clients of philadelphia's department of human services much the children were murdered by suffocation wednesday in the home of relatives in florida. their 40-year-old mother sophia has confessed to killing them way bed sheet. >> i don't know where this thought -- where her mind was when she did this to her babies. >> reporter: in the case of ariel and saint leo dls is careful in the wording of its only public comment about them and their cruel fate. "saint leo and ariel lines were involved with dhs but were not in the department's

exchange for chapman's support in award leader election. the investigation continues tonight into the kidnapping robbery and execution style shooting of a pizza delivery driver. he was shot in the back of the head but miraculously he did not die. in fact, doctors are calling it a miracle. "action news" reporter trish hartman is live from southwest detectives tonight with the latest on the driver's condition and the search for the gunman. trish. >> reporter: well, rick, the victim in this shooting was told by his doctors they're at a loss as to how he survived that gunshot wound to the head. gafaru surah says he doesn't need an explanation. he's grateful for the second chance. >> they told me i have to change my name to miracle that's what they told me because they say a lot of people come to the same situation but you can't find nobody survive. >> reporter: 34-year-old gafaru surah says doctors couldn't really explain to him why he's still alive. he was shot in the head monday

night while delivering pizza in southwest philadelphia. >> when my brother came to the hospital, i told my brother to take care of my daughter back home for me and my family. >> reporter: police say it all happened around 10:15 when he went to make a delivery in the 5700 block of beaumont avenue. when the two men came out to his car they pulled a gun and forced him into his vehicle. >> when they told me to go in the car, it's like it's shock for me. i'm like this is not real or this is real. >> reporter: surah says the men took $60 from him then drove him a few blocks away. they then demanded he call someone to bring more money. when he didn't, police say they forced surah down on his knees and shot him in the back of the head. somehow he was able to run and flag down an officer. after surgery to remove the bullet an inch into his brain, he is expected to make a full recovery. >> they say that they never see something like that happen for the person to come back alive again. >> reporter: while surah says he won't be returning to his old job he's now thinking

>> chopper six was high above dramatic rescue in bedminster bucks county. rescuers had to free a rock climber who fell and became trapped at the bottom of a cliff while climbing at high rock park. took more than an hour for rescuers to free him. he was taken to a hospital. no word yet on his condition. mayor jim kenney unveiled the design for an historic new sculpture that will grow up on the southwest apron of city hall. the statue will be the first dedicated to the accomplishments of a sole african-american. he was the prominent scholar teacher and civil rights leader who was slain on

election day in 1871. he was serving as the national guardsman when he was gunned down on his way to the polls to protect newly registered african-american voters. this sunday is flag day but falls township bucks county got a jump start on its memorial. volunteers placed hundreds of flag in the ground representing pow's and those missing from all military conflicts. other events scheduled for the community are free concert tomorrow and a motorcycle run on sunday: as always when graduation season rolls around we try to bring you as many commencements as we can. this time we turn to downingtown chester county. wearing green and white the graduating class of 2016 at bishop shannahan high school auditorium here in front of family friends and teachers these seniors took their final steps before moving on to higher education. >> ♪ >> elementary students in philadelphia's morell park section performed a musical

>> a big donation went to chester's soccer for success program today. $6,000 in equipment was donate by dunkin' donuts kicking off its save kids program with the philadelphia union. the donation included over 70 soccer balls, 250 cones and 100 scrimmage vest. dunkin' donuts plans to donate a hundred dollars for every philadelphia union save this season for other regional youth athletic programs. time for sports. ducis is here and you have more on the nelson agholor story. >> his attorney says his client is 1,000 percent innocent. nelson agholor investigated for alleged sexual assault. philadelphia police say the allegation was made by a dancesser at cheerleaders

>> it's going to be hot and humid potentially stormy. not a washout. storm tracker6 live double scan slowing that we have another dry comfortable day today. third day in a row with temperatures only in the 70's. 76 degrees in philadelphia, down from our high of 78. allentown 77, atlantic city airport also 77 with that land breeze and reading currently 75 degrees. now satellite6 along with action radar showing we started the day with lots of sunshine but some high thin clouds are streaming in and there is a warm front that's out to the west and that will be moving through early in the day tomorrow and that's what will bring us the heat and humidity. tonight though for your friday night, it's a beautiful night. just a few clouds, very comfortable, 51 in the suburbs, 58 degrees for center city and future tracker showing the heat is on. 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon the heat index, the combination of heat -- of the temperature and humidity levels will make it feel like it's 95 degrees. so, it's going to be a big change in our air mass and

then there's an upper level disturbance that could trigger a line of severe thunderstorms. so future tracker showing at 9:30 in the morning this is when the warm front moves through. this is when we could see a few showers and thunderstorms. then we get in the heat of the day. by about 3 o'clock, this is when likely some thunderstorms will develop across the northwest suburbs and these are going to be racing towards the southeast at about 40 miles per hour. so, crossing the i-95 corridor around 4:30 or so and then moving off the coast by about 7 o'clock. at this point it's too early to tell whether they'll be scattered or more of a solid line but there is a risk of severe weather with these storms containing some damaging winds and even some hail. it looks like the tornado risk will be missing us up to the north. so, the key time between about 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock, again, racing from the northwest to the southeast at 40 miles per hour. the main threat damaging winds, like the storms we had on wednesday, could have some

wind gusts up to 60 to 70 miles per hour. and also with all that humidity, plenty of moisture in the air, so the downpours could be torrential. if you're trying to drive through that a good idea to pull through and let the storms pass. down the shore you will be the last ones to see the storms. so, most of the day it's going to be dry, a high of 80 degrees starting with sun then increasing clouds, evening thunderstorms and then behind the system on sunday, it's very windy and it's warm with a high up to 88 degrees. if you're heading up to the poconos those thunderstorms could be hitting early afternoon. it will be humid, 75 degrees and sunday behind that system windy with bright sunshine and a high of 70. so, the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, it's hot, it's humid tomorrow with a high of 90. afternoon thunderstorms possible. again could be strong to severe. behind this system on sunday, we have a cold front rolling through so that means the humidity dropping through the day. 88 degrees, very windy and then monday a breath of fresh air.
